  • Once Sir Alfred Hitchcock said, "Length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder." In spite of its two and half hour long runtime "Teefa in Trouble" nullifies Hitchcock's saying which an incredible feat to achieve for a film from this part of the world. To make it possible a film must have a content audience could relate with and this is an element which makes Pakistani films of new era unique. Though "Teefa in Trouble" does not offer novelty in story line but what makes it an extremely watchable experience for everyone is its slick execution and style. As a keen observer of development of new cinema in Pakistan I've never expected less than a visual excellence from Ahsan Rahim the director of "Teefa in Trouble". Stunning cinematography, well-choreographed action sequences and spontaneous humor with typical Lahori Punjabi accent are the main USP "Teefa in Trouble" offers. Ahsan Rahim has proved himself as an accomplished director who knows what exactly Pakistani cinema goers are craving for.

Multi-talented Ali Zafar who started his filmy career in neighbor's tinsel town, enhanced his skills there as an actor and came back to home with a dream of setting new bench mark in reviving film industry of Pakistan. One may envy his fortune for actually seeing his dream coming true. With "Teefa in Trouble" Ali Zafar has successfully presented himself as a complete package that can do anything in error free manner. From his meticulous funny acting with full of amusing punch liners to his capability in performing difficult action stunts with an ease we can rate Ali Zafar as next big thing in Pakistan film industry.

Faisal Qureshi has been a lucky mascot for Ahsan Rahim's professional career. Again with his witty punch liners Faisal Qureshi has not disappointed us in "Teefa In Trouble". There is no doubt Faisal Qureshi's performance as sidekick of main protagonist of the film will impress cinema goers and critics alike.

Mehmood Aslam is veteran actor of Pakistan TV industry who divorced his filmy career many years ago but reappears on silver screen with a Bang as "Butt Saab" in "Teefa in Trouble". His typical Lahoriya style acting is noteworthy.

Javed Sheikh is playing "Bonzo" a non-Resident Pakistani millionaire who is concerned about her daughter's marriage. Bonzo's real name is Basheer in film and whenever he transforms himself from Bonzo to Basheer is treat to watch and one of the main features of "Teefa in Trouble".

With "Teefa in Trouble" Maya Ali is commencing her filmy career and what a debut she has made. She is not only looking beautiful but comfortable in performing such a role which demands more than what she has been doing on small screen. Traditionally female lead is not more than a prop in an out and out action film but the way writer, director Ahsan Rahim has balanced her out invalidates all stereotype perceptions.

As far as technical department is concerned, this is an area where film performs superbly. One can proud to have a talent like Zain Haleem the cinematographer. Every shot which he has taken, gives soothing effect to viewer and editing seems flawless. Music of "Teefa in Trouble" is already allover and being watched, reviewed and discussed extensively on social media. Though "Non-Item Number" has already become chart buster but "Sajna Door" is another melodious number which will stay in your list of favorite songs for a very long time.

No film is free from loopholes and "Teefa in Trouble" has few minuses which must be briefly discussed. First half of the Film is perfect but after interval it has been dragged. The dream sequence in which Teefa confronts different forms of his own alter egos seems trivial, unnecessarily increases the runtime of the film to the dangerous level, albeit, this sequence in itself a novel idea for a Pakistani film. This sequence can easily be removed to maintain the fast pace of the film. Brand affiliation do wonders for any film but when same brand affiliation transforms into product placement and becomes part of film, it gives bad taste to its viewers. Same thing happened with "Teefa in Trouble" when we surprise to notice "Diamond Supreme Foam" appearing from nowhere in Poland. Whether it is Hollywood, Bollywood or Pakistani film industry filmmakers must realize the fact that product placement in films is nothing short of a poison which kills the connection a viewer establishes with the visuals on cinema screen.

"WAAR" was the landmark film which triggered all what we're witnessing today, "Teefa in Trouble" is natural outcome of consistent struggle of our new breed of filmmakers who believe that they have the capability and capacity to change the fate of Pakistani film industry for the future. On the whole, "Teefa in Trouble" is a complete entertainer which raises the bar for every department of film making in Pakistan. Go and watch it.
  • Two old, rich friends talk on Skype. One wants the other's beautiful daughter, Maya Ali, to marry his utterly unprepossessing son. The other refuses, there's a massive quarrel and Ali Zafar (Treefa) is told off to kidnap Miss Ali from her home in Warsaw and fetch her to Lahore for the wedding. On arriving in Poland, however, he discovers he has arrived on the day of her arranged wedding. However, she is anxious to get out of it and thinks he has been sent by her friends to fetch her to a birthday party for Tom Coulson, a bar singer she has a crush on.

We know how this is going to turn out from the moment the situation is set up. The question is always how much fun director Ahsan Rahim, the writers (who include Messrs. Rahim and and Zafar) and the rest of the cast and crew can provide along the way.

The first thing to note is that I was blown away by cinematographer Zain Haleem's photography of Poland, his shots of Warsaw and the countryside. American and European cameramen have a large assortment of standard shots, but Haleem seems to be working from a different bag of tricks and the inspiration of novelty.

The rest of the movie is good, but far more standard. There's a lot of fight choreography; indeed, one of the musical numbers, which Indian and Pakistani movies seem to include automatically, refers to Jackie Chan. Yet most of the comedy turns are provided by Mr. Zafar's sidekick, who falls quickly into the annoying-and futile category. The leads are good-looking and capable performers, and the plot twists are well performed. Yet I was growing impatient towards the end. A romantic comedy that lasts two and a half hours is imply too long.

Yet, despite the feeling that it should have had one or two sub-plots fewer, it rolled right along for the first couple of hours and remained watchable to the end. I d
  • It is worth a watch for the reasons such as 1) good direction 2) sound 3) dialogues and catchy phrases in lahori accent 4) Superb performances 5) engaging (but somewhat weak) plot 6) stunts, action, and first chase scene 7) Camera work in first two scenes
  • Teefa In Trouble has just elevated the standard of films being made in Pakistan. It's larger than life and should break records. It is a MASTERPIECE!!! Truly entertaining and so far the best comic movie Pakistani cinema has ever produced in its' history! I think it has set new benchmark & standard for Pak movies. The cinematography along with the direction is GREAT & Humor is Brilliant. Outstanding action, funny & emotional sequences by Ali Zafar and an awesome performance by Maya Ali. One word for this movie: BLOCKBUSTER!
  • Ali Zafar single handily took Pakistan cinema to more 10 years back!!! Same stupid plot, same stupid story and the most annoying characters!!! Pakistani film industry keep following Bollywood!! Create something original!!! Pakistani audiences are not stupid stop insulting our intelligence!!!
  • There is a try made to spruge ur emotions, which is good nd the priority given to good deeds over bad in the film add some vitality, But this movie if had been a 1.5 hr one with all the dramas nd un required stuffus removed from it would had made some nice rememberance to the mind,
  • Superb Movie. Great acting by all actors specially Ali Zafar. Excellent Direction by Ahsan Rahim. Outclass job done in every department. All praises to Ali Zafar for this brilliant masterpiece. Pakistan finally got a superstar after a long time, Ali Zafar. He is such a talented person and a gift to the Pakistanis from God. I watched this movie with my family today and we enjoyed every bit of it. This movie is a full package. Action 10/10, Drama 10/10, Comedy 10/10, Romance 10/10, Music 10/10. It is a must watch for everyone who loves clean family entertainment.
  • Same old movie not good enough plot to make a strong movie. Some dialogues are very good at the same time some are just below average.. movie is 2 hr 35 min it should have been 1 hr 50 min instead.. the length of the movie makes it boring... watch it if you like some quick laughs.. Otherwise not an impactful movie.. Not worth watching again.. but still to support pakistani cinema plz watch it...
  • Everything's superb. Excellent ending... Music, action, romance, story, crime, action, cinematography. Perfect everything... A masterpiece added to pakistani film industry... Never imagined such a thrilling piece of cinematography in such critical important tenure of industry... At places it may seem boring or not going to the happy hour ending but stay with it, it will be a fairy tale with a classy ending .
  • Movie could top my list of all time hits from Pakistan but they DRRRRAGGGED it in the last 45 minutes and spoiled the taste. Great story-line and spontaneous acting. yes there were few script flaws too. 1. A girl who lived all her life in Poland and never been to Pakistan has a very Pakistani accent which is not understandable. 2. Fight scenes are induced in the movie and the hero is presented like a superman 3. when the heroine comes to Pakistan for the first time ever, she fits in the country culture without any strange feelings( either Good or Bad) 4. Unnecessary fighting and running bride scenes.
  • Good film but reminded me alot of Shrek. Ali Zafar = Shrek, his friend = Donkey. Obviously Princess Fiona is the main lead actress who instead of being rescued from the castle in this case her parent's (Dragon) palatial house has to be kidnapped and taken back to Far Far Away Lahore Pakistan by Shrek & Donkey so she can marry the son of a gangster (lord Farquard). Oh then you have a character of Andy who is like Prince Charming to create a love triangle. View it again and you will see Shrek plastered all over Queen Lateefa.
  • It's an Ali Zafar film if you ask me because not only he acts in the film, he is the co-writer of the script, was the brain behind the witty dialogues, composed the songs and wrote their lyrics, sang the numbers with Aima Baig besides producing the film with his wife. He looks every bit the modern action hero we all missed in Pakistani cinema and if he can continue the good work, he will enter the league of legends in no time. He can act, he can dance, and he can fight ... what else you want from one person! Maya Ali came as a breath of fresh air and looked naturally beautiful. Shani Arshad's magical background score and Zain Haleem's amazing cinematography keeps the audience engaged in the film, making it one of those films that will not bore you even after multiple viewing.

Bhot hi achi movie h Pakistan industry growing very well😍😍you should watch that action comedy good composing
  • Promos of Teefa in Trouble looked promising, but in turn was rather stale and I was very disappointed. I had watched quite a few Pakistani movies in the past and this is one of the weakest movie I came across.

Ali Zafar is one the most promising entertainer, I would mention from Pakistan. He being the lead and the producer of the movie just paid attention towards the glamour quotient in the picture and did not bother to care about the story and script of the movie.

Plot orbits around a crook Teefa (Zafar) who is sent by a gangster to Poland to kidnap Anya (Maya Ali) and bring her to Pakistan. The gangster wants to marry Anya to his son, Anya happens to be the daughter of his best friend (Javed Sheikh). In the process Teefa falls for Anya. This leads him in trouble with Anya's father, Poland police and the gangster in Pakistan. How he gets himself out from all this misfortune is the whole description.

The highlight of the movie is its cinematography, the scenic locations in Poland is captured brilliantly. The music suits the mood of the movie.

Presence of so many loopholes in the screenplay makes Teefa in Trouble tedious to watch. The climax is stretched like a chewing gum. The guy who plays Teefa's friend despite trying too hard is not at all hilarious but aggravating. Movie allows a reasonable stimulus from Bollywood .

Acting part, Ali Zafar takes most of the screen time and is average but go overboard in some scenes. Maya Ali looks beautiful and does a decent act but needs to work on her expressions. Javed Sheikh the most experienced actor in the movie is at his run-of-the-mill average. Rest cast is ordinary but loud.

Considering this being publicized as one of the costliest and highly commercial Pakistani movie and might earn good at the box office is still a substandard. I had watched better Pakistani movies in the past.

This movie is a huge let down and does not work due to a wafer thin plot and outdated treatment. Director Ahsan Rahim and producer Zafar if had paid more attention on screenplay and script the movie could have been better.

Bottom-line the flick does not live up to the hype and hoopla surrounding it.
  • I usually don't write reviews for movies but Teefa In Touble has given me a reason to feel proud about Pakistani cinema and it compels me to write few words about my experience. It was a fine Friday noon when me and my friend decided to give it a go. Seriously speaking, neither of us had huge expectations but we both were surprised. This movie has set the bar higher and it is clearly the best Pakistani movie ever with plenty of remarkable moments. Mother-son relationship though short but it is portrayed very beautifully and has a strong message that has the soul of script (no spoilers intended). On screen chemistry between the leads and rest of the supporting cast makes everything fall into place. Many witty jokes uplift the mood and support the story in a balanced way. Action is top notch and worth mentioning here is the cinematography of "sajna door" and "chan ve". This is the first Pakistani movie that has properly managed script, screenplay, background score and cinematography. Songs are well placed and every character is justified. I felt the ending a little bit cliched and a few minutes cut could have concluded it better. In short, Teefa In Trouble is sheer cinematic brilliance and is a great milestone achieved in revival of Pakistani cinema. Ali Zafar in front of the camera as well as behind the screen has proven his mettle. Ahsan Rahim's direction deserves appreciation too. Rather it calls for thumbs up to the whole team. It's not like I haven't watched anything better than this but I am glad to write that this is one of the few remarkable movies by our film industry. It is a complete family entertainer and I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. Long live Pakistan.
  • Warning: Spoilers
All the millennials went to watch a movie directed by someone they have seen directing and acting a bunch of comedic stuff on television. Ahsan Rahim and Faisal Qureshi! The nostalgia element was added in a few shots too.. specifically the song 'Ab Kya Karon' by Jawad Bashir. Faisal still does not know how to act, or was he acting? I never know.. he still felt like giving his best punch lines, just the way in every other ufone Ad he has ever acted. Now coming back to the actual movie. It was just fine. I believe everything was on point, except the story needed some strong work. Songs were exceptionally good. Cinematography was too good for a Pakistani flick. Maya Ali looked damn gorgeous. Ali's presence on the screen was too overwhelming (some times not in a good way). The story twist before the ending was a good element. Not saw it coming. But they could have skipped the dragged fighting sequences and added a few more comedic element. Faisal Qureshi should have given more screen time, perhaps with Ahsan Rahim's other assests? ('Adeel Hashmi' anyone agrees?) Overall good attempt!
  • So the story line was pretty neat for a romantic comedy movie.. A gangster who is assigned by his employer to kidnap a girl and bring her to Pakistan and while doing so has a little flick of his own.. Picturisation is commendable and the songs and the movie balance is very well maintained. The movie doesn't really get boring except the last 20 minutes which I felt were dragged. The acting at time falters and the audacic display of alcohol irked me a bit. I think Pakistani cinema should fight really hard to establish its identity rather than mimicking the neighbors.. But this movie easily tops my list of favorite Pakistani movies..more power to Pakistani Cinema

But this movie made me write one. I am a Pakistani living in Australia. I just watched this movie and couldn't resist writing a review.

So the movie is set in Lahore and in Poland. It starts of with some brilliant action and then as it progresses, it presents a spectacular blend of drama and love. It ends with the most valuable lesson "Love takes precedence over money"

This is the first Pakistani movie which is going to be released in 25 countries.

The movie made me cry at more than 3 places. The songs are perfect and placed at perfect points. The acting and action are more than brilliant.

I place this it above SANJU... If you don't trust me, go and decide yourself. Plus you can absolutely watch it with your family.

Lollywood just rose to another level !
  • How Hollywood and Indian film industry impacts Pakistani film industry clearly shows in the movie, but the movie has moments that makes it different from them, specifically mentioning the Pakistani style of humor that is not common in any other movie industry. The story and direction is simple and meant purely for entertainment. What these days is called popcorn movie. and a family entertainer. Ali Zafar has improvised very much in the department of acting. And Javed Sheikh as usual has given an plausible work. Maya Ali looked glamorous and yes she can act, Would love to see her where she has more challenging roles. Cinematography of the movie is something that should get a special mention here. Every frame in the movie looks beautiful and that's the reason I gave an extra star to the rating else it would've been a 6.

My verdict: Go for it. it's a family entertainer.
  • Don't believe these reviews they are lying , fake reviews . i watched the movie . completely boring movie . i give it lots of chances but i couldn't watched it more than hour . its so boring .waste of time don't waste use money in this movie . tried to copy Bollywood but bad attempt . no scrip . bad story . overacting . we can do much better than that we need to make good movies .
  • In short, a must watch movie! The film keeps you entertained in every scene and the songs compliment the romance and heartbreak scenes very well, giving you a great sense of emotions throughout. Not to forget being sung in the amazing voices of Ali Zafar & Aima Baig. The characters have executed each dialogue marvellously and each character is portrayed really well. Hats off to Ali Zafar, Maya Ali, Mehmood Aslam & Javed Shaikh on their great performances. Really proud of Pakistani Cinema and hope it's continues to excel like it is! Well done Team 'Teefa In Trouble'! Pakistan Zindabad! :)

This movie will be marked as a big change in Pakistan cinema , never imagined a movie like this to come out of Pakistani Cinema loved it !
  • An average flick with some decent comedy by the cast. A film that is watchable only once. Itvis funny to see people giving this one 10stars. Nice try though.
  • I entered the cinema keeping in mind my last experience with Chupan Chupai of giving it up halfway through. It turned out to be an amazing experience. The team has delivered an excellent movie. The hard work was quite obvious. Some very thoughtful scenes as well. My stance on Pakistani Film industry has changed. Optimistic about upcoming movies. WELL DONE!
