| The best Leprechaun film
For as long as the Leprechaun franchise has been around, none of the films can be said to be good (that is, in my opinion). That is until 2018 when a new Leprechaun film titled Leprechaun Returns was released as a TV Movie on the SyFy channel. Typically, I am not a huge fan of SyFy original movies, but this one is one of the better ones. First of all, this film is a direct sequel to the original Leprechaun film and it ignores all of the other films that were released afterwards. I honestly thought that making this film a direct sequel to the original was a smart move. I would like to say that this film does have a few flaws. First of all, the acting. While a big improvement over previous installments, this film does have mostly unknown actors who do a decent job at doing their best. I have seen reviews of this film criticizing the new Leprechaun and how that with a sequel, they should have Warwick Davis as the Leprechaun. I can honestly understand why people feel this way, but the new actor, while not exactly on par with Davis, he is pretty good as the Leprechaun. He manages to be a little creepy which is something that was attempted in Leprechaun: Origins (obviously they failed). Honestly, I like that tactic. But at times, I felt like that this film was almost too serious and it strayed away from what made the original Leprechaun so silly and absurd. This film has plenty of gore and unique kills which are possibly some of the best in the whole series. The film is not boring and manages to keep me interested for the whole film. With that being said, this film is the best Leprechaun film because it is an improvement over the original. If you see this film, I do not think you will be dissappointed.
