On half of the glowing reviews here, they are all by people who have been a member for a day and have reviewed precisely ONE movie and you guessed it...this one.

This was an amateur movie in all aspects and not scary at all. The kid was wooden acting and clearly a small budget.

Had potential

The film had potential to be something good but failed miserably. The premise was good but no real story or explanation. Is it a ghost story, mentall illness, figment of imagination? It had me engaged at 1st but he ending sucked.

Interesting

Omri Dorani may have only directed one movie before this, but the assured style within this film makes me excited for whatever is next. This Is Our Home is the kind of stylish horror that with a bigger budget would be on the tip of everyone's tongues.

Filmed over eleven days at producer and lead actress Simone Policano's house in Woodstock, New York - and mere days after producer & lead actor Jeff Ayars had an emergency appendectomy - this movie tells the tale of a struggling couple who, during a weekend getaway, meet a mysterious child who claims to be their son.

Even though this movie is only 73 minutes, it takes its time with each scene, sometimes relying only on sound and utter blackness to get across its terror. Is the child real? How does he know every secret the couple has? Is he just a manifestation of their worst impulses?

Watch this and see. I was astounded by the high quality of this film. Its long takes and pauses may make too arty for some, but count me as one of its fans.

Very david lynch.I found the movie mesmerizing.

Simone policano is one f the main reasons to see this film.She's jsut perfect.The strange tone and odd structure made this for me daring and adventurous.It's a real art-house mindbender.Those other negative reviews are the individuals who line up 4 hours ahead for every damn marvel movie.

Horrifying

Do yourself a huge favor and skip this movie. A man and wife (we assume) get pregnant. At first they are excited, and it seems they name the baby Zeke. Then we see them coming away from the doctor's office--maybe? The woman is crying. Then they move to her childhood home, her parents no longer living there. On the way two rednecks harass them, and we think the woman is about to be raped, but this doesn't happen. Now the couple is in the house. They drink wine, avoid a room that her father forbade anyone to ever enter, and suddenly there is a knock at the door. A boy of about ten years is there. The woman is at first terrified of the boy, but after a little while believes that this is her aborted child; but the man is incredulous and wants to call the police. First he is severely burned by the little boy pouring scalding milk on his leg. Then he is attacked by his wife with a pair of scissors. Then she and the boy--Zeke--tie him up and drive an awl into his brain with a rubber hammer. This doesn't kill him or give him the hoped-for lobotomy, but it permanently damages his brain and turns him into a drooling vegetable. Meanwhile Zeke and his mother live their lives as if nothing has happened. Then the movie ends. Who wrote this utter garbage?

I beg you, please don't waste your time watching this - definitely the worst movie I've seen. Save 73 minutes of your life and watch a proper movie.

Don't even bother looking forward to a good ending...or an ending at all it just seems they cut it halfway through the movie and called it good.

If you read reviews here you will encounter some higher rating ones, just because the author thinks that he is smart enough to understand this.

However, the movie doesn't deliver anything and the script is a mess. No deeper meaning, nothing to understand, just bad execution with poor writing. That's all!

Slow and boring as hell.

I jumped into this movie with a friend expecting a okay horror film, but boy was it bad! not to mention at least 25-30 minutes of it was music with slow motion camera panning on the same scenes over and over, the dialogue was boring as fudge and just throughout the whole movie, I wanted to stop! being a hour and 13 minutes long you expect at least more than 50 minutes of dialogue but you don't even get that. Skip this movie if you can!

I do not find it helpful when people say "if you didn't like x movie, you just didn't understand it!" In this case, though, I must say that if you're writing reviews about "This Is Our Home" that include the phrases "nothing happens" or "there's no story," you didn't understand it. It's not going to be to everyone's taste, but to say there's no story or no point is demonstrably wrong.

The film is slow to be only 73 minutes, but it's deeply creepy throughout. The first half or so is dedicated to character development, so that we can understand what causes this couple to behave the way they do. The child is incredibly unsettling, and the way the overall situation spirals out of control once he appears is truly upsetting. It's primarily the horror story of a troubled relationship between a spoiled manbaby and a resentful woman: if that doesn't appeal to you, by all means, don't watch this. If you like character-driven, atmospheric horror movies that ask you to engage with the themes and emotions being presented, you can't go wrong here. If you don't, I'm sure there's a Jason movie streaming somewhere.

Really Good Psychological Thriller/Horror Film

If you gave this movie a bad rating..you have no brain or imagination. This movie was very original,suspenseful and creepy. Great soundtrack also...Some people have no business rating movies like this style of movie. Very enjoyable movie!

So the movie was confusing at first they don't tell you exactly what's going on, apparently her dad dies so they move into his old place, his room was a study room which nobody was allowed in for whatever reason, this creepy kid randomly shows up and claims to be her aborted son (her husband did not want the kid and made her have an abortion) so that's why she's melancholy and angry with him and they argue all the time in the movie and what was going on in the beginning, her and the kid go psycho and decide to tie the husband up and give him a lobotomy, and then leave him like that in her dads study which all along was just a plain old boring room. That's it. The whole movie is garbage, SO boring and just plain stupid. I can't believe a movie this lousy even exists. It was utter garbage, just plain boring and stupid and the worst movie I have ever seen, you'll have more fun watching paint dry.

So many things werent explained. Probably around 10-15mins of fill ins (no talking just walking around) Suggested that a kid in the movie "touched" the mom and to never do it again (really awkward sence) right when the movies about to end??? What was that about? Alot of things were not explained and you are left confused. This movie overall gets you watching just to disappoint you. Dont normally write reviews and i rate movies higher than most people i know but i had to rate this low.

Watched this last night, and I can say for certain that I have lost precious time that i will never get back!! I have no idea how this is getting high ratings off of some people, saying that they were on edge? This is officially the worst film I have ever sat through and watched.

The plot didn't make any sense. Most scenes were music and no dialogue - pointless!! There were so many scenes where you would think would relate to something nearer the end of the film .. but they didn't at all. It just didn't make sense and was all over the place. PLUS, the acting was absolutely terrible. I would rate this 0 if i could.

This had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Short and sweet and creepy as hell!!! Reminded me of The Omen meets Babadook kind of, also great actors. Want to know where they got this kid!

I have NEVER written a review before. But I felt compelled to do so because of the poor/low ratings. I'm glad I didn't listen to the low ratings because this is a very good movie. It's not a movie with guts and gore, it's a movie you have to use your brain to enjoy it. There are times where I just want a movie where I don't have to think and then there's other times I like movies that I have to use my brain to enjoy. This is one of those psychological thrillers, but is very creepy at the same time. Give this movie a try, you won't be disappointed!

This is just an absolute waste of time.... it feels like a pet project that will only ever make sense to the writer of this nonsense. As people have pointed out, it raises questions, and they are right, it raises far too many questions with absolutely no answer to any of them, but the key question should be ... Why did they even bother making this. - it goes absolutely nowhere, and doesn't even provide food for thought as it cobbles what could be interesting plot lines together and then does nothing with them, but limp to an uninteresting and drawn out conclusion.

This was the biggest waste of my time. My lady and I were annoyed , hoping that at some point there would be a plot twist and not a full movie made for us to assume. And then the ending with the child walking with the lady made absolutely no sense. If i would have paid to watch this I would leave obscene gestures but thank heavens I did not. This money should be banned from every app or platform. Omri please try again and do not give us this piece of crack. I've been upset by crappy movies but this takes the cake. And it was so bad I'm writing my first review.
