I honestly didn't think an episode of this show could leave such an breathtaking effect on me. This season and expecially this episode is simply something special. I've been dissapointed by AHS in past by seasons like Motel (Gaga...), Reanoke and perhaps even Freak Show. First two were great, third was passable. But this season and this episode is pulling together everything about AHS that is actually worth something (good seasons) and is using old characters and storylines in such ellegant way! Sarah Paulson brilliantly produced the best and highest rated episode in the series! I watched this before I went to bed and now I can't sleep because of excitment!
Top drawer performance by Jessica Lange. She is streets ahead of anyone else in this series.
When season 1 ended, it felt as if many stories were ended. And going into a different storyline for season two made me think, "oh wow, I'm gonna miss the characters from season 1, but I guess it makes sense how it ended". Now in season 8, I saw previews of murder house and thought. How are they gonna make me care about these characters again? Will they just use them for a cheap nostalgia pop? Answer, they let Sarah Paulson direct this perfectly told story. I don't think I was prepared to be so captivated by everyone again. We had simple issues that were fixed over one episode, it didn't drag on. It was perfect. A nice send off to arguably one of the greatest seasons of any tv show.

I absolutely love this show and Apocalypse is turning out to be the best season yet!
However, anyone that's just starting to watch AHS is going to be completely clueless as to what's going on. With references to Coven, Hotel and now Murder House, this is not a season where you can just watch and know what's going on.
With that said.. Kudos to the AHS crew!

This episode had everything you could ask for in AHS! As Sarah Paulson's directorial debut she knocked it out of the park. Jessica Lange's performance (and return) was magnificent as always. Everyone in the cast did fantastic; it was emotional, raw, and fun to see favorite characters return. This is by far my favorite episode of the season.
