"HBO's" latest real life like crime doc "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" is based on the real life account of writer Michelle McNamara's( sadly late from us) real life hunt and search and digging deep to unmask the "Golden State Killer" who terrorized California thru the 1970's and 1980's. This true crime series shows the will power and obsession that Michelle had from her behind the scenes work as the footage shows her hunting down witnesses and victims, to her browsing the web and finding out about evidence. Plus she begins to post her own theories and thoughts on crime related web sites about unsolved murders. This was inspired by her 2018 bestseller of the same name this lady was determined to shed light on the 50 plus rapes and 12 murders that happened thru the Sacramento area, many late nights were devoted with her networking to other web posters as her search deepened. Husband comic and actor Patton Oswalt is interviewed as he gives emotional and fond memories of a hard working Michelle. This doc is really a tribute to research, data, and the author herself, yet most of all it honors the victims while technology would capture a killer.
