"International Interracial" wins on style points, as veteran James Avalon brings his expertise at story-telling to today's all-sex format, making these 4 XXX vignettes come to life.
The trick is not to dwell on dialog or tired attempts at "acting", beyond the scope of most current Adult performers, but instead (as Avalon does here) make judicious use of voice-over narration and pantomime to invest the sex scenes with a modicum of characterization and man-to-woman connection. In fact, the result could have been fairly titled "International Interracial Interaction".
Opening vignette stars Valentina Nappi, whose flavorful, heavily accented voice-over sets the tone for the entire DVD. She describes herself as a high-priced escort or call girl, visiting her favorite client, an enigmatic soccer star, portrayed stoically by Jon Jon. Nappi does all the work in this episode, and it is fascinating to watch her seduce her john (appropriate role for Jon Jon) who previously has employed her merely to dance and masturbate for him, a voyeur. This scene is titled "One Special Night" and gives an unexpected romantic woman's point-of-view to the cliche of prostitution as just a grind. This was shot at the remodeled "Immoral Proposal" mansion (see: the Sweet Sinner video by that name), its exterior structure the sole identifying clue.
Most imaginative scene is stylized visually by a monochrome or duochrome color scheme, as voluptuous Luna Star voices over her thoughts, sitting in a nightclub and eyeing successively two Black studs with hopes of humping them. Tyler Knight and an unknown Jason Stryker credited for the vignette (but missing from the end credits) also voice over their thoughts gazing at Luna, and Jason gets a blow job while veteran Tyler goes all the way with Luna - all of it clearly labeled as mere erotic fantasy that, alas, never is realized by the 3 lonely characters.
The Japanese cutie Marica Hase turns a routine physical therapy session into Oiler format XXX seduction of one amusingly named "Jack Blaque", and a striking newcomer Audrey Royal earns box cover prominence as a jail-bait type from Lebanon renting an airbnb room from kindly Nat Turnher, and thanking him at the end of the weekend with instant and blissful seduction. Avalon carefully presents touristy views of student Royal soaking in the beachfront atmosphere, an unusually romantic S.O.L.I. sequence in which she romps Solo rather than in some lucky guy's arms.
