There are some decent CGI visuals, and the spaceship set is what you might expect. But unless you like cheap highschool soap operas there is very little reason to sit through this show.
Based on their social behavior the characters are 95 percent 20-something highschool dropouts.
There's nothing special about the sci-fi aspects of the episodes.
There are aliens that send a probe to earth, and some people are sent through space to try to reach the aliens who sent it. Some stuff happens here or there along the journey, as expected and necessary, to have something to 'show' the audience. That stuff is mostly cheap drama.
They could explore the sci-fi more, but that's obviously not the point of the show. It's just cheap drama, a trash novella realized as an excessively long TV series. Sure, the drama had to have an environment to take place, the creators apparently decided to have it take place in space. But 'everything' about this show is used to serve the drama!
I really don't suggest watching this unless you have something else to do while it plays. Me, I read a decent chunk of an 400pg Bob Woodward book while it played--so no real loss for me.
