  • You Complete Me, Ho was mildly funny at best. It was basically him name dropping a much of celebrities that he knows and saying about two funny things in between. Mediocre at best. Would have appreciated more comedy and less name dropping.
  • Overall I felt that this standup performance was good. I had some laughs and I enjoyed learning more about Ken Jeong who has always been this wild and crazy character in my head. This man has always fascinated me because he was once a doctor and gave it all up to be an actor. He does talk quite a bit about that switch which was extremely funny and interesting to learn about.

To me this special was the most wholesome in the fact that he contantly talked to the audience as if they were important parts to his act and pointed out his wife and director constantly. The show was about Mr. Jeong and how rich and famous he is but it was also about how he got to where he is and how important all of the people in his life are.

It wasn't the funniest standup I've seen but if you're a fan of Ken's and the work he's done in Hollywood then I think you would enjoy this.

I also think you would enjoy this special if you last name is Ho.

    Warning: Spoilers
He is pretty funny. This show was just a bit of repetitive. I laughed a lot about the "Ho" jokes at first, especially because of audience members but after a while it was to overdone. His stories about filming and being a doctor though were funny. I hate any Donald Trump jokes these days because there are so many and it seems like a safe space for comedy. His grabbing pussy joke was fine but then came that not funny racism rant. One could have skipped it. It is a comedy show not a political speech. The Clinton jokes were funny as well though
  • I get it, the guy is a millionaire and is rich. But this was no were close to a stand up. There is no freakin difference between a Mayweather interview and this stupid stand up. In short what I took away is : I am Asian. I am a millionaire. I am great. Rest everyone is a sucker. God, do not waste your time.

He's no Bill Burr or Chappelle, but he's got Ho's! Fun time, relax critics.
  • So much haters out there, you know? This comedy special was really special, might be some jokes were old, and the idea of "I'm super rich now, go and sick my *ick" attitude were taken literally by some people here, this is highly recommended to watch.

It's not stand-up comedy as it says, more of "memories" night with one of semi-successful asian actor who happened to be the hard worker and creator of memorable characters to not care about the movie at his 40s, right?

The guy is super humble, and I respect him for what he went through with his wife and changed his life when he became an actor but stayed with the same values. Semi-biographical stand-up comedy show held not at the theater, but at the club. Chow is a great storyteller.

    Highly recommended to watch!

Not funny at all. the whole special is him bragging about his fame and money and constantly reminding you that he is a doctor too.
  • I love Ken Jeong. I love his movies. But I just couldn't put my finger on what was a joke and what was just a.... kind of "funny" story? I would've really liked to take a dive into Ken's life a little bit more, but most of the content was rehashing characters and stories that we already know. 4 to 5 Mr. Chow impressions, stories about the Hangover, and nothing but name drops and shoutouts to more successful comedians. This could've been great - and I really wanted it to be - but the jokes just fell flat. Ken should've spent more time prepping these jokes and perfecting them instead of just going for the low hanging fruit; ie: anti-Trump jokes, Asian accents, bringing back characters from movies that happened over 10 years ago. Love Ken. Hated this special.
  • Not funny in any way. Netflix just hands out specials to anyone these days.
  • I really don't see why people are so negative about this stand-up show. I had a good laugh, especially in the first half. He's a man of short jokes, not everybody's taste, but for an hour of comedy I found it relaxing to listen to. Ken Jeong is very spontaneous and interacts very well with the audience. This is what stand-up comedy is supposed to be, just joke after joke, little bit of stories, roasting a few audience members and giving some background about yourself.
  • I love Dr. Ken and he has always been hilariously funny. And there are some really great moments in this special but I was constantly reminded of something Colin Quinn would scream: "Stop APPLAUDING! Applause kills comedy". The special starts out strong with some other Asians in the crowd but then there were too many moments that remind me of the opening monologue on SNL where the host begins announcing things that are designed for applause and it just gets tedious.
  • This was one of the worst comedy specials I have ever seen. There are no jokes. Just him bashing on Asians for a while (can be funny but it wasn't here). He spent a lot of time telling us how rich and famous he is. About how he is a doctor. Some stuff about how his wife is a Ho and how some plants in the audience are also Ho's.

And that's about it. I don't understand. This should not have passed any kind of quality control.

I was really expecting comedy, ended up with watching the unfunniest standup in a long time.
  • vm-0536314 February 2019
Please don't waste your time, he's not even funny.
  • threenails1015 February 2019
There will be a lot of haters on this cause it's not entirely funny. There are funny moments. More so, if you love Ken this should make you love him more. He's a great storyteller and That's what made it for me. I loved it all in all even if it didn't always make me laugh. Ken is a treasure.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Seen upcommers with a lot more material than this. It wasn't funny to watch, and quite hard to finish. He actually just spends 60 minutes on promoting him self and his daughter, clapping his own back for the work he has done and underlining how rich he is.
  • Ken talks like he is making it.up on.the spot. Rambles on about nothing with little set up .if you took a shot every time he uses the F word you would be passed out on the floor within.first 5 minutes..show is way to long..reminded me of the ellen special without all the swearing..he used to be a doctor , made a few movies..name drops every famous person he can think of..the audience was high drunk or both.i like ken.but i didnt like this mess..every time i see him on tv now ill think of tjis horrible attempt at stand up

I felt that Ken spent waaaaay too much time name dropping, talking about being a doctor and telling everyone that he has money. These things in themselves were not bad, but there was not much more there in terms of funny stories or observations. It was very forgetful to be honest.

One of the worst things I've ever seen on Netflix. It's awful and unfunny. He's really untalented. His shtick wears thin after 3 minutes. Avoid at all costs.

    Warning: Spoilers
First of all to the haters who post about why Ken constantly brags he's rich: are you people really that dumb? That's the joke. Ken Jeong is one of the most humble and approachable celebrity in Hollywood. You're really taking him literally when he's "bragging" about how he's rich and famous now? C'mon man, get a clue. Too much cursing? Really? In a stand up? Banish the thought. How does Bill Maher get away with it every week? Ken's stories of his former medical career and the transitions and contrast between it and his acting/comedy are gold. The uniqueness that is Ken Jeong is precisely his transformation from being a doctor who had to be at his absolute serious when he dealing with life/death issues in his patients, to now a complete foul mouthed slap stick silly improvisational genius on stage grabbing his junk. Understand the man, understand the context. This isn't rocket science or brain surgery. And maybe it's lost on some other parts of the country but his irreverence with Kaiser Permanente, the largest healthcare system in California, was spot on. Many of his fans loved, and got introduced to Ken through, his character Mr Chow from The Hangover movies, so of course he's going to reference that a lot, especially when he tells the reasons why that franchise meant so much to him. This special was intended to be somewhat biographical as he makes fun of himself and others, and I learned a lot about this actor/comedian, his relationships with his family, and anecdotes with other celebrities that were equally revealing. This was very enjoyable all around. Great job Ken. Can't wait for the next special.
  • I can see that I am not the only person who thought this show was just diabolical. There isn't really a lot which can be said here, mainly because not much of interest was actually discussed.

I honestly thought for a man of Ken Jeong's age and experience, he could have come up with something far more mature and genuinely entertaining. Instead he just swears like it's going out of fashion, goes on about nothing and spends what seems like eternity talking about the Asian family name Ho and playing word games with it because of a similar sounding word in English with a derogatory meaning. Yes I get it! It's just not funny. Repeating it will not make it any funnier, in fact it will make it even more annoying than the first time.

If you have connections with more than one language like Ken Jeong does, you are bound to notice words similar in each one with different meanings so this isn't really that big of a joke anyway.

I couldn't help but notice how small the venue appeared to be and Mr Jeong did not even appear to have a proper stage!

I was watching this on Netflix, which carried on bringing it up to me for a while asking if I wanted to carry on watching, etc but I really did not want to. I couldn't be bothered with it after about 20 minutes or so and I think that's being overly fair!

All in all, I have never heard of Ken Jeong before and I only hope his other stuff is better than this but it shouldn't be difficult. This performance was simply shameful!
  • Though switched this on for the comedy, I didn't feel gripped by the comedy. Ken's jokes were by no means as bad as what other reviews seem to be parroting. However, I will admit that I did soon grow tired with his reliance on cheesy Asian stereotypes and bragging. This shouldn't be too surprising as his previous works have been built more on shock value and vulgarity rather than wit or nuance.

The redeeming part of the act was the autobiographical storytelling of some of the more important and vulnerable parts of his life that led him to his success.

If you are interested in Ken worth a watch for the stories alone. However, I wouldn't clear your evening plans to watch this.
  • Ken can be funny in small dosages. The word to describe him when I first saw him in a movie was "obnoxious." I knew that I probably couldn't last long, but I was hoping that he would surprise me. But I was right, very vulgar, very obnoxious. I don't think he's a case of you either love him or hate him, I definitely think there is a middle ground, and that middle ground is movies because you get him in small dosages. Over an hour of just that personality... I couldn't do it, had to turn it off after 10-15 minutes. He gives me that Dane Cook vibe, another obnoxious comedian. That guy fell off the map. Obnoxiousness, the word of the day. LOL! It will get old Ken, change it up a bit.

This is just an Asian guy congratulating himself on being a celebrity and having been in some movies. Well, I did not like The Hangover, and do not even remember this dude from it (or really anything else about it). He keeps reminding us that he is a doctor. who left medicine to pursue acting and stand-up. I am not familiar with 95% of the celeb names he dropped. BTW, I have much more respect for a mediocre doctor than I do for a lousy comic. In fairness, I did not stay with this very long, as I felt it a waste of time. So if it got great later, oh well.

So for a while I really wasn't a fan of Ken Jeong's crass sense of humor but recently (mostly after binging Community and loving him in Crazy Rich Asians) I've really been coming around to it. This special showcases his trademark blunt, unapologetically crude jokes and delivery but has a tremendous amount of heart and sincerity, covering subjects such as being an Asian American in Trump's America, his former life as a doctor, genuine relationships with his previous directors and costars, and his struggles with mental health. And also his wife!!! The way he talks about his wife (the inspiration for the special's name and Valentine's Day release date) is so precious and pure, I actually teared up towards the end. I can see why his type of humor may not appeal to some, but if you like smart but kind of gross comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously with a lot of heart, I highly reccomend this special!!
