There was a lot of hype about this short heading in so I was curious how it would play out. There is some Wes Anderson feel to the style in terms of the visuals and production. It was one of the funnier films screened and Carlos Veldes is a terrific comedic actor. It's a lot packed into a short and used the passive aggressive and limited dialogue to its advantage at times. It was a good short and meet expectations I had. My only criticism of the film is that it's clear the director is trying to find his own footing and style and didn't really have a solid idea of who he wants to be as his own director. The inexperience was there but it didn't hinder too bad so I'm curious and open to see what else he produces in the future. Funny overall but some weak moments. Not a repeat watch for me but enjoyable all the same.

Great acting! But the editing was poor and so was the writing. Melissa and Carlos are great though!

After watching this film in VSFF, all I can say is wow! Beautiful production design, the direction, the cinematography, the acting. It was the right amount of everything. People laughed from the beginning to end. Chris, thanks for ending it with Dorothy! Kudos and more films to come.👌🏼
  • Melissa and Carlos are incredibly talented, but the script didn't do the pair any favors. Toxic relationships aren't funny and should not be played off for humor. It's an old way of thinking, and it's time to move on from the mess that just reeks of Leonard Bernstein's failed operetta "Trouble in Tahiti."

Had the pleasure to see this short at #vsff19 tonight, it's one of the shorts that made the festival and programe four memorable, the script was so clever and so well executed, 9 minutes were surprisingly more than enough to fit such a wonderful, brilliant and funny story.

The cinematography and directing style were so aesthetically pleasing, the director really delivered what was such a great cinematographic experience to witness, you were at the edge of your seat waiting to see what was gonna happen between the two main characters, and I did not see that ending coming! I was amazed how many details and the depth the characters (and plot) were given in such a short time, which is something that makes this short so great, I'd love to watch a movie or a show about this couple and their dog!

The jokes were so clever and funny, the acting was amazing and even though this movie is set in the 70's, the lesson behind it makes it a timeless masterpiece, what you put out in the word WILL find its way back to you indeed!! Ignore all the phonies in the comments who haven't seen this great film, I recommend it to everybody and I hope it gets released or another screening so I can see this amazing short again! Hollywood better watch out for the next great director!!
  • Virtually everything in this film is wrong, and most of that irresponsibility boils down to the fact that Wood has no idea what he is doing. Which was glaringly obvious as he directed, wrote, and produced, this catastrophic project.

As a result of his "control" over the film, everything felt like a first draft. Every take seems like the worst take that was shot, and yet they are all used. The line delivery from everyone lacked authenticity due to the directors failure to pull a convincing performance from the Critically Acclaimed actors. It was clear that Chris struggled with this project.

The writing was lackluster, using 70's lingo and costume design to make up for the misstep. The plot, predictable and underwhelming. The most redeeming quality this film has is the small cameo Wood's dog made, and that didn't last. If it weren't rude to walk out of a 9 minute film I would've been long gone.

2/10 for you Mr Wood. Good luck on your next project. I wish you all the best.

This shirt film was amazing and funny. Love the cast and their acting!
  • Although not having seen this film, I find that it was quite hilarious. I was given spoilers and honestly, I laughed at all the jokes. I hope to see the film, and laugh at all the hilarious jokes. Happy to see one of my favorite actors, write and direct a 9-minute film.

Congratulations to all the other writers and directors who also wrote their stories.
