    Decent

    3 out of 5 stars.

Creepy and effective thriller. With the outsider stalking a couple of people. Lurking around. The direction and script is still slow moving.

    Cry Baby

Half way through the season now and the pace of the show is starting to wear me down now.

Holly (Cynthia Erivo) refines her theory that the entity carrying out these crimes likes to stay around and feed on the misery. Meanwhile, having been warned once, Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn) receives more instructions to drop the case, this time from closer to home.

I don't want my initial sentence to suggest that the shows not good. Performances are still excellent and the show looks great. It's the first Directing gig for usual D.P Igor Martinovic and he does a good job - it's just that I still want the show to move faster than it currently is doing. This episode isn't as bad as last weeks for this, but I do feel that it's still the case. And you can see, from the time I'm writing this review compared to the air date that I'm increasingly choosing other things, rather than "The Outsider" for my evenings viewing. I will see it through though.

Too much going on, but I'm still engaged.

I think one of the main reasons why I'm having a little trouble following this show and more specifically, coming up with something to write about each episode, is because there's so much going on, and so many scenes, and once you're getting more and more engaged in one line of the story, the scene changes to a different line of it. And that jumbles everything around in your brain, making it tough to focus enough on all of it, in general, enough for something to write about it to emerge itself.

I would say binging the entire show would get rid of that problem for me, but I have no idea, and there's a part of me that thinks it wouldn't make a difference.

Other than that, I'm decently engaged in the show, and I'm enjoying it very much, I just have trouble coming with something to write about each episode that will suffice. This episode, in particular, was good, just as good as every previous episode, and just like I'm sure every subsequent episode will be.

    Soooooooooooooo

Sloooooooow! If you attempt to watch it as an "after kid's bedtime", drink a coffee instead of a glass of wine,. otherwise, you end up sleeping on the coach.

    • Quotes

Jeannie Anderson: Ralph, I think you should drop the investigation.

      Ralph Anderson: Why's that?

Jeannie Anderson: Because if you don't, I feel like something very bad is gonna happen.

Ralph Anderson: Something bad's already happened. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of it.
