  • Finished playing "The awesome adventures of captain spirit". Great little teaser for Life is Strange 2. Thank you for creating this game and Captain Spirit is kinda prequel to Life is Strange 2. It doesn't take very long to complete and is a nice addition to the Life is Strange franchise. No reasons to not play it.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Life Is Strange 2 is the third entry in the episodic graphic adventure video games where the players' decisions determine the twists and turns in the story. This video game consists of five episodes of roughly four hours each that have been released between September 2018 and December 2019. The physical release also includes The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit based upon a side character of the main game. It's the same game genre but should rather be seen as a side quest that takes not more than two hours to complete.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit revolve Christopher Eriksen, a boy who is living in rural Beaver Creek, Oregon. His mother was killed in a hit-and-run. While Christopher Erikson's father is drowning his sorrows in alcohol and getting more unreliable every single day, the child fashions himself into superhero Captain Spirit. He considers his daily tasks such as cleaning his room or setting up the house for Christmas as supervillains he must beat. While imagining this world of fantasy, Christopher Eriksen will also try to find the strength to inspire his father to change his ways and overcome his mother's absence. At the same time, he also encounters the two protagonists from Life Is Strange 2 who are living next door with their grandparents.

This little game should especially be entertaining for boys and young male teenagers. It's easy to empathize with the creative, dynamic and quirky Christopher Eriksen. His tasks are equally amusing and entertaining while the background story offers shows optimism in difficult moments and has some philosophical depth. The graphics and soundtrack are beautifully done and provide an almost comfortable and homely atmosphere that is at times interrupted by sudden and gloomy unpredicted events. The game finds the perfect balance between fantasy and realism here.

On its own, this short game doesn't have that much value but it's a welcome complement to Life Is Strange 2. It wouldn't be surprising to see Christopher Eriksen's character again later on in the franchise to see how he is overcoming his struggles as an older teenager or adult. This graphic adventure game is quite entertaining and highly recommended to older children and younger teenagers.
  • Pretty decent. The game explore the childhood of a children who live with his dad. The story is prety interesting but still classic and only the themes will make the story pleasant. I enjoyed it and have a good time but the choices as always dont have a meaningful impact and i was pretty disappointed there.
  • This is a nice little game designed as a prequel to Life Is Strange 2...play this first to get a better insight as to what's going on. It's beautifully made as are the rest of the series and it draws you in. Deeply immersive and somewhat sad. Reminds you that you get old! Brilliant!

A game that shows the stages of a child's life. Life is Strange lovers will absolutely love.
  • Chris Eriksen is a young boy who is very imaginative and optimistic. His story is a very meaningful one and packs a hard punch, filled with emotional moments and brilliant, tactful writing.

This was a Life is Strange 2 sub story, and a very emotional one at that. As a side story concerning an unknown side character, especially being told from a young child's perspective, I wasn't sure what to expect or if I'd like it. This was really great though and the subtle details really give this little game a depth it wouldn't have had otherwise. Meaningful, brilliant, heart-felt and realistic, this story really adds to the world of LiS.

Developed by Dontnod and published by Square Enix, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit (of LiS2) was an amazing, yet short, side installment and addition to an intriguing series. Overall, this was a very memorable game. Can't wait to continue following the series and see where it leads.

    STORY: 10/10 GAMEPLAY: 10/10 GRAPHICS: 10/10 ART DESIGN: 10/10 MUSIC: 10/10 OVERALL RATING: 10.
  • From the creators of the Life Is Strange franchise we absolutely get to explore the snowy fields of Oregon in the Eriksen household with Chris Eriksen who is also known as his imaginary superhero alter ego Captain Spirit.

A short game set in a very small location is obviously what a free game is like. But for a game that is so small to complete its imagination is absolutely big. The setting looks beautiful, the soundtrack is soothing on what is like living in the snow and the best part is that this game can help find ways to finish the superhero suit and go on imaginary superhero adventures. But I didn't expect imagination moments absolutely go that big!

Captain Spirit is such an interesting game tease to end on a cliffhanger for Life Is Strange 2. And I would absolutely recommend this game.
