This is such a bad written show and acting is ... you have to see it to believe it. Swamp thing who had high ratings and was a hit everywhere is canceled . 'No wonder marvel is higher than DC
I liked this at first. I enjoyed the visuals, the family story line, the acting (particularly that of Skarsten and Rose), and the whole idea of Bruce Wayne's female cousin finding the cave and taking over in his absence. The effort was there.
Unfortunately, the lack of logic kept pulling me out of the story, as the writers had to make their heroes conveniently stupid in order to keep the antagonist on the run. Without getting specific, I often found myself asking, "Why don't the heroes just bring the villainess to justice RIGHT NOW?" Instead, the protagonists waste time talking to her, letting her bait them, or backing down when they don't have to.
Even worse, Batwoman goes easy on the villiainess for personal reasons, putting selfishness ahead of public safety. How in the world is the audience supposed to root for a hero who does that?
Not recommended.

Gave this a try, to see if it is truly as bad as they say. Long story short, it is. The dialogue is corny, the musical score is horrid and it is overall cringe. I usually have something constructive to say about most things, but with this, I was lost for words.

So season 2 rolls around and I was curious how they would transition to the new girl, and apparently now the suit is ultra rare and makes people powerful. So now there's no training required, ol' girl just put the suit on and went to town on all of the bad guys, get the heck outta here, and the only thing that could penetrate it is a kryptonite bullet? Who writes this stuff? Lmao cancel this show already, hella dumb.

I made it about 1/3 the way thru the 1st season.
The cast was good. The sets and costumes were good. The writing was awful. I mean bottom of the barrel, looking up at horrible bad writing.
I was not surprised when Ruby Rose left.
I was surprised they tried for season 2.

Its terrible. Who the hell writes this crap. I can believe they are still playing this.

They should cancel the show. The animated Harley Quinn series is way better than this bullsh-
I think the first episode was quite okay, I enjoyed it. I don't know where all this hate comes from. I've seen way worst shows with better reviews. Is it perfect? No. Could it be better? Sure. I don't think it's bad though. It deserves at least a solid 6 or 7 so far.

I really want to like it but i can't. i really tried but there is no point.
Nothing is good in it, almost nothing and I'm really easy to impressed.
Awful .
Contrary to what I usually do, I started watching this show not having seen any comments about it beforehand. Since I already watched all the other Arrowverse shows and I am an old date fan of Batman and everything Bat-related, I figured there wasn't any doubt I would want to watch Batwoman, so I saw the pilot not knowing what people were saying about it.
And I liked it very much. Of course it's not perfect, but the flaws in it are not all that different from the ones we see in the other DC/CW shows: the dialogues are a little cheesy, the action scenes don't feel very realistic, but nothing that prevents me from enjoying them. On the other hand, I thought the characters were nice, the plot was interesting, and they didn't change too much of what we see in the comics. In a few words, a good start, and a promising show.
So, when I opened IMDb and saw so many bad ratings, I couldn't understand what was happening. Until I read the reviews and confirmed something I already knew: people don't want a good story, they want to be patted in the back. When Oliver Queen says something cheesy or acts arrogantly we all understand it's just a part of who he is, but when Kate Kane does the same, people assume it's because the writers want to make a political statement? I am a white, heterosexual, comic-loving man, and I am very sad and very ashamed to acknowledge that the overwhelming majority of are incapable of appreciating a story unless the hero is a white heterosexual man.
Anyway, I hope all those who hated the first episode stop watching the show and ignore its existence, otherwise all their hating reviews and comments could cause an early cancellation. I am looking forward for the rest of the season, and I hope they keep giving us Easter eggs along the way.

I'm starting to understand cancel culture.
This in no way deserves the reviews it's getting. It's not perfect but it's enjoyable.
I admit I've not watched much telly in the last 6 years but if you're being this critical and you're not a movie executive or Simon Cowel then what is it that's ruined you?
This is my first review. I'd have minded my business but with everyone on this band wagon I thought I'd step off it.
Patronising, pandering cringe. as a woman i hate these hamfisted "girl power" shows that completely break objective reality. just more nonsensical man-hating tripe. the acting is terrible, the dialogue is cringe, the characters are unbelievably stupid. worse show of 2019

I had to see this for myself. Surely, it must have some redeeming qualities, I said to myself. Myself may never forgive me for watching this slime, that should be wiped away with Bounty papertowels from the commercials shown in the breaks. Stay away. Read the comments here and be forewarned. There is only sadness ahead.
CW should really reconsider who they hire as writers and who they count on as producers, whatever Television company or Distribution they work in.
Batwoman the series is a mock-up parody and circus, swinging and splashing its futile and debilitating screenplay, acting and poor characters representation, making a total mess as a result.
It is awful as a series, totally unacceptable as a crossover crisis and must be cancelled at the speed of light.
CW executives, refrain from doing a second season, channel the money elsewhere to a decent use and please seek some guidance on series ordering, making, renewal and casting from professional people out there.

IMO, the show did not do justice to the source material or the character of Batwoman-also, the dialogue and character development were subpar. Additionally, the show faced behind-the-scenes controversy, including the departure of Ruby Rose after the first season and allegations of a toxic work environment, Which I think was the final nail in the coffin.
Overall, opinions on the quality of "Batwoman" vary, with some viewers enjoying the show and others finding it lacking. Ultimately, whether or not the show is "bad" is subjective and depends on individual opinions, but I know it is not for me. I felt I wasted my time.

I recommend this series if watching ironically.
It is a never ending dispenser of hilarity.
I was really curios about Batwoman in general. A well written crime drama with a hot chick with advanced gadgets in a leather costume. How exciting it this? But NOPE! This series is bad in every way. Technically it looks like I created it. Visually bland and forgettable. But acting... Oh boy, this is next level bad. Every single person that tries to act is ether cringe or unbelievable. Giving this product an honest watch is one of the most painful and frustrating experiences one can ever sit through.
Is this a tax write off? I am struggling to understand how this was even made.

This is horrible. This is really poor. It is unbelievable that they made this garbage
This is by far the worst adoption of the Batman universe. If this is what cw produces on the go it might not exist very much longer. What an complet abomination, and ist 3 seasons long what kind of dumb mindless person can watch this and enjoy this. Super girl was bad but Batwoman won the price.
Long story short the acting is abysmal, the story is full of incomplete plots and the Camara work my 10 year old niece could have done much better. No idea why this has right of existence and who signed of on this program. I hardly give one Star but common this is offensive to the Batman universe and their fans.

There's nothing wrong with this show. It's typical CW-level comic book fodder. It's a fun watch and a welcomed addition to the Arrowverse. Now, many of these reviews mention Kate Kane's sexuality in the first two sentences - that's not an accident, it's intolerance. Just like the reviews that were written before the show even aired. As for the viewers unhappy about a Batwoman - this isn't a character made for TV. If you don't enjoy the character, that's fine, but the character is straight from the comics, not a socially conscious television creation. And is one episode - the pilot at that - really a fair assessment. Too many reviews otherwise motivated. There's a lot of opportunity here. The hate is unwarranted.
I am not a fanboy, I do not really care about comics heroes, I just watched a show that seems quite interesting. It is not there yet, but looks promising.
The low grade of 3something it is not justified, it seems to be a result of an organized attack of people who do not like the heroin? they do not like the actress? both?
In any case this is ridiculous.
This is a show that definitely does not deserve such a low ratings.
