In the beginning I thought it was going to be another boring show, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself watching this in one sitting till the very end.
The show reminds me a mix of Sherlock BBC and Poirot but more modern and lighthearted. Every single character has their own plot, motivation that made me guessing till the very end. Overall in the writing aspect it was incredibly smart and i was thoroughly impressed.
However, this show is the definition of milking something till the very end or dragging it (no pun intended). An 8 episode show each episode roughly an hour long could have literally been a 1hr and 30minute movie. But the writers decided to just keep adding things, unnecessary plot that has no connection to the actual story whatsoever.
I would have love for this to be a continuing series but please for the love of god keep each case to 2-3 episodes.

This show looks and sounds quite a bit like 'Only Murders In The Building', and it is quite similar. As if the female detective from season on of OMITB had her own show. But then it rolled out similar to a 'Thin Man' movie and/or an Agatha Christie plot with hints of Upstairs Downstairs.
It's quite entertaining and stands on its own. Each potential suspect has their own story, the writing is witty and the plot is THICK with all kinds of cobwebs. Everyone has a motive, even the guests at a state dinner. Detective Cupp is a very interesting woman and I enjoyed her analogies to birds and situations. I see a franchise waiting to happen and I am here for it.

This was amazing. That could be my whole review but that won't work here. The acting, the intricately woven plot and the ensemble cast were just top notch. The story of the murder of a head usher at the White House being murdered during a state dinner would have been interesting enough to me, but add in Detective Cupp and her eccentric personality and bird obsession and this was a pure winner. I just knew I had it all figured out, but not even close and I'm usually good at this kind of thing. There's 8 episodes which might seem like a lot but I was so fascinated that I watched all 8 in two sittings. I'm really hoping for season 2 with all new characters except for her and some of the other law enforcement characters. Netflix, I hope you are listening!
This is really a GREAT TV-show. Every one of us in my family was laughing out loud, it's funny.
The cast have performed well in a very keen observation but freedom given by the director.
I felt like, I was reading a really good novel. The pace is perfect for the story which is non stop fun.
Can I just say.... Editing was a work of a genius.
. As a full time professional editor myself, editing is the first and main thing Im looking for in a film/show. I can't imagine how much work it took to edit this type of show with every flash back, flash forward and present time which never feels messy, amazing work.
They found the perfect flow, matched with great music. I can imagine it must have been fun tho. Looking forward to finishing it off. If I don't see this show getting super high ratings I will be shocked for sure.
You can surely Enjoy.

Sheila is my girl! She is hilarious. Her character has little one liners that make you ask yourself "Did she just say that", (Lol) the looks, mannerisms. Love her. Not to take anything away from the whole show, it was brilliant! It has many good and funny characters, like the Presidents mother-in-law, the Austrailian aide that was in the garden with the female chef/cook. But Sheila kept me chuckling all the way through the series. I couldn't wait for her to be back on the screen, even in the background to see if she was up to something or was she MIA drinking MIL's vodka! I'm going to binge it all again because of my girl Sheila.

- TriviaTo recreate parts of the White House that are unphotographed and off-limits to the general public, the production design team consulted with former White House professional Haley O'Connor. She relied on memory to describe the basement, Chief Usher's office, staff stairwell, and more to the team.
- GoofsIn order to make the whodunnit plot happen, the general premise is that many areas and staff members of the White House are completely unmonitored, neither by security personnel nor by cameras, which is absolutely unthinkable.
