‘Mama June’ Shannon has admitted to spending $35,000 of her daughter Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson’s money, leading to increased tension between mother and daughter. Viewers will see the fallout on Friday’s (April 12) episode of We TV’s Mama June: Family Crisis, where the reality star is confronted about having spent the entirety of Alana’s fee from Dancing With The Stars: Juniors, which amounted to $35,000. Speaking to DailyMail.com ahead of the episode, June confessed to spending the DWTS money but claimed she has not touched the rest of her daughter’s savings, which stands in the six figures. “I did not spend 12 years of money. It was only from one show [Dancing With The Stars],” June said, revealing she used the money on household bills, manicures, and other “life expenses.” “Alana has money in a Coogan account [a special blocked trust fund account for child stars] that she is choosing not to touch – and it is...

Reality TV star Alana Thompson is butting heads with her mother, Mama June Shannon. The pair have had severe disagreements over the years, but this dispute very well could end up in a courtroom.
As seen on the show, Alana believes her mother stole money from her. Now, reports indicate she may take legal action against June.
Keep reading to get the scoop and see what could happen next.
Alana Thompson Feels Mortified Her Mother Spent Her Money
During a recent episode of Mama June: Family Crisis, the family sits down to go over Alana Thompson’s finances. Since she’s been on television since she was a little girl, she fully expected to have a significant amount of money in the account to cover her college expenses.
Unfortunately, it seems that the funds were much lower than they anticipated. Alana earned quite a bit from her time on Dancing With The Stars: Juniors...

ABC’s Dancing with the Stars honors one of the hottest stars on the planet, Taylor Swift, with an episode featuring some of her greatest hits. Subsequently, her Eras Tour choreographer, Mandy Moore, will join the judging panel to offer her “Taylor-made” critiques of the remaining six couples.
How many of Taylor Swift’s songs will be used on ‘Dancing with the Stars?’
Dancing with the Stars has kept the songs featured during Taylor Swift night on the down low. However, there are some facts that Showbiz Cheat Sheet does know.
Taylor Swift Night will feature each of the six remaining couples dancing individually and three relay dances with another pair. That means nine songs from Taylor’s catalog should be performed.
While it is likely that many of Taylor Swift’s more popular songs will be heard, the series could also surprise fans with a few lesser-known tracks during the performances.

In the decade-plus since Maddie and Kenzie Ziegler first pirouetted into our lives as the breakout stars of Dance Moms, they've released full-length albums, feature films, clothing collabs and even a memoir at the ripe old age of 15. They've taken their talents to So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation and Dancing With the Stars: Juniors and, in the case of Maddie, racked up billions of YouTube views as electropop star Sia's music video darling. The 13-year-old athlete, who was the champ on ABC's Dancing With the Stars: Juniors in 2018, won bronze for Great Britain in women's skateboard park at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday, August 3. Sky—who placed behind gold medalist Sakura Yosozumi and silver medalist Kokona Hiraki, both from Japan—became Great Britain's youngest athlete to ever win an Olympic medal. In a video posted to her Instagram Story after the event, Sky expressed her excitement about her big accomplishment. "Hey, guys, I'm so happy to have this medal," she said. It’s been more than a week since Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten won “Dancing with the Stars” and he still can’t believe they won.
“I’ve had some time to process it all now and, honestly, I still can’t even believe it!!!! What is my life right now?!” Bersten wrote in his final blog of the season on “Entertainment Tonight.” “I am so thankful and grateful for this amazing opportunity. Thank you to everyone at ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ thank you to everyone who has supported Hannah and I and, most importantly, thank you to Hannah for never giving up and doing your best and just inspiring me every day!!!”
Bersten also won “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” as a mentor to Sky Brown, who was at the Season 28 finale, and Jt Church and received a trophy himself. He plans to put both trophies on display… eventually.

“Dancing with the Stars” has a voting problem, and producers haven’t addressed judging from Sailor Brinkley-Cook‘s surprise elimination in week six. She was one of the higher scoring celebs in the competition, and so was Ally Brooke, who landed in the bottom two with her after audience votes were combined with the judges’ scores. Clearly their high scores didn’t matter than much, and Sean Spicer‘s consistently low scores haven’t hurt him at all. So that seems to be the problem: too much power to the people, to the point where the scores hardly matter anymore.
Ironically, “DWTS” fans who voted in our poll said fans should have less influence on the results. A full half of our poll respondents (50%) said, “Whoever votes, it’s most important that the judges scores are weighed more heavily than the audience.” But that’s not all. “World of Dance” is unlike other competition shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance” in that it’s pre-recorded and only the three judges — Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo — get to pick the winners. And fans of the show … like that just fine, actually. We asked our readers if they thought the show should go live so viewers at home could have a say, and most of them actually voted no on whether they should vote. Scroll down to see our complete poll results.
Only 32% of readers thought “World of Dance” should switch to live shows so fans at home could help pick the winners. It’s official: “Dancing with the Stars” won’t return in the spring. ABC announced its midseason premiere dates on Wednesday, and “Dancing” is Awol from the schedule.
This is not surprising at all, since Tom Bergeron tweeted last month that he doubts the show would be back for it usual spring installment. The host also shared that ABC had only cleared him and Erin Andrews to sign off the Season 27 finale with the vague “See you next year.” Chances are “Dancing” will return in fall 2019, though it hasn’t officially been renewed for a 28th season yet. (There is no word on the fate of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.”)
2019 will mark the first time “Dancing” airs just once in the calendar year since its debut season in the summer of 2005. It has aired two seasons a year since then, with the spring-fall rotation starting with Season 4 in March...

“You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” but you’re a darn good dancer, Ms. Greenblatt. “Avengers: Infinity War” actress Ariana Greenblatt and her fellow “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” finalists performed Christmas-themed routines for their freestyle dances during the season finale. Greenblatt portrayed Cindy Lou Who while her pro partner Artyon Celestine was the title character in their Dr. Seuss inspired number. Watch it above.
Greenblatt was hoping a former “DWTS” contestant would be her good luck charm: this version of “Mr. Grinch” was performed by violinist Lindsey Stirling featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Stirling was the runner-up in season 25 of the grownup series, behind Mirror Ball champion (and “Juniors” co-host) Jordan Fisher. Greenblatt’s resulting routine was full of strong choreographic content, storytelling and a couple of impressive lifts. And the young actress, as always, has a knack for getting into character.

Mackenzie Ziegler had a new attitude during the season finale of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” The 14-year-old singer and “Dance Moms” alum broke out of her shell during the Semi-Finals last week when she performed a fierce paso doble. She carried that momentum into the Finals episode with a freestyle that brought hip-hop flair to the night’s Christmas celebration. Watch her performance above.
Ziegler and her pro partner Sage Rosen danced to “Drummer Boy” as re-imagined by Justin Bieber and Busta Rhymes. But it felt less like “Little Drummer Boy” and more like “Little Drumline” when Ziegler and Rosen faced off in a mini dance battle right in the middle of their routine. I’ve been ambivalent about Ziegler all season since she’s pretty much a professional dancer in her own right, but I have to give credit where credit is due: this might have been my favorite individual performance from her,...

Miles Brown spent virtually the entire season of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” as the highest-scoring contestant, and I thought that was a well deserved mantle for the “Black-ish” star. During the last episode of the show’s inaugural season he and his fellow finalists performed Christmas-themed freestyle routines, and Brown took a fantastic “Sleigh Ride” to a hip-hop wonderland. Watch his performance above.
Judge Val Chmerkovskiy thought the routine was especially “exceptional” for the impact it might have on viewers: “What you are doing for boys who are too afraid to pursue this, they will now have the courage to do it.” Mandy Moore added, “You have the mark of a true performer. You are dynamic. You have swag and style in the palm of your hand.” And Adam Rippon thought Brown was a “superstar.”

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” ended its inaugural season with a set of Christmas-themed freestyle dances that turned out to be a day at the beach — for Sky Brown at least. The skateboarding prodigy danced to “Underneath the Tree” by Kelly Clarkson, but in Brown’s case it was a palm tree decorated in bright lights. Watch her performance above.
Brown performed two routines during the finale, and it turned out she saved the best for the last episode. She started the night by performing a reprise of her week one salsa, this time with her adult mentor Alan Bersten joining her and her pro partner Jt Church. Brown and Church weren’t alone for the freestyle dance either: in that case they were joined by a group of “Juniors” troupe dancers who held Brown aloft on a surfboard.

There was a lot on the docket for the one-hour season finale of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” There were four finalists since no one was eliminated during the Semi-Finals, and they all performed two routines on the final night of the competition: a repeat of their favorite dance of the season (this time joined by their adult mentors) and then a holiday-themed freestyle. It has been a pretty outstanding first season for “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” which started in October as a kind of curiosity alongside its grownup counterpart. But the adult results went haywire all season, to the point where the ultimate Mirror Ball champion, Bobby Bones, couldn’t hold a candle to any of the child finalists in terms of dance quality. It turns out that the kids are alright — more than alright, in fact. I think “Juniors” outshined the original series this season.
But who deserves to win? There are four finalists going into the season finale episode on Sunday night, December 9: “Black-ish” actor Miles Brown, skateboarder Sky Brown, “Avengers” actress Ariana Greenblatt and singer-dancer Mackenzie Ziegler. Here’s how I think they should finish:

As suspected, there was no elimination on the “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” semifinal, so the final four will hit the dance floor one last time in Sunday’s finale. The pairs will perform two numbers: a reprise of their favorite dance of the season — this time featuring their respective mentors — and a holiday-themed freestyle. So again, these young’uns don’t have the pressure of performing two completely individual routines.
The episode is only one-hour long, so there’s a lot to pack in — all of the eliminated couples will be back for a group number — before we even get to the winner. The winner will be determined by judges’ scores and the studio audience vote. And honestly, whoever wins would give Bobby Bones a run for for his money.
See Did Mackenzie Ziegler deserve the first perfect score on ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’ for this paso doble?...

Skateboarder Sky Brown has been such a positive, resilient presence on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” that no one could possibly want to see her unhappy. So her clip package during the Semi-Finals was a little tough to watch. Her mentor Alan Bersten wanted to challenge the young athlete with this week’s Argentine tango, which was already a stylistic change of pace for her. But maybe he pushed a bit too hard because at one point the pressure to execute all of his difficult lifts and tricks made her break down and cry. Did it all work out in the end? Watch her tango above.
Bersten was quick to comfort his charge, letting her know how well she was doing in the face of such difficult choreography, and Brown wasn’t down for long. By the end she exclaimed, as she has many times this season, “I never want this to end!

The judges on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” kept holding back on their scores, hesitant to go any higher than 9s even as the field narrowed down to the most elite contestants. They changed their tune in a big way during the Semi-Finals, and it all started with the first dancer of the night, Mackenzie Ziegler, who got the first perfect score of the season. Did she really deserve those milestone marks, or did the judges get a little carried away? Watch her paso doble above.
Even Ziegler had been frustrated by her feedback from the judges. She usually got high scores (she has the season’s second best judges’ average), but in her clip package she discussed feeling insecure about the comments from Val Chmerkovskiy, Adam Rippon and Mandy Moore, who usually praised her, but usually added a dose of quibbling or criticism. “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” split up its final four celebs into dance duos during the Semi-Finals, and it turned out to be a battle of young versus old — or rather, young versus slightly less young. Mackenzie Ziegler (age 14) and Miles Brown (age 13) were first up, and then Sky Brown and Ariana Greenblatt (both 10) set out to prove that youth isn’t wasted on the young. How did they do? It took them long enough! I’ve had a bone to pick with the “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” judges this season for holding out on “Black-ish” star Miles Brown. It took him seven weeks of competition to get even a single 10 even though he is, for my money, the most technically gifted celeb of the season, and with the most showmanship too. Well, the judges finally gave Brown his due during the Semi-Finals; when he teamed up with Mackenzie Ziegler for dance duos in the second half of the night, they were showered with 10s. Watch their performance above.
The judges opened the floodgates throughout the Semi-Finals. I thought it was curious how enthusiastic they were when they had been so conservative before. If you combined the first seven weeks of the season, the judges gave out a total of four 10s. But during the Semi-Finals alone they took out their 10 paddles 11 times!

Dancer and singer Mackenzie Ziegler and her partner Sage Rosen went into battle with a paso doble. Skateboarder Sky Brown and Jt Church treated us to an Argentine tango. And “Black-ish” star Miles Brown and Rylee Arnold performed a cha cha.

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is down to its final four. The kid celebs are paired with pint-sized pro partners, but they’re also mentored by grownup pros from the original series. And two of those remaining pros are looking for redemption after cruel early eliminations on the adult show. So can Brandon Armstrong and Gleb Savchenko do better with their young proteges?
Okay, so it’s not redemption, per se. “Juniors” is pre-taped, so their fates were already sealed before they even got started on the original “DWTS” series, which was broadcast live and concluded on November 19. But either way, success on one show must take the sting out of a disappointing result on the other.

There are just two episodes left of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” and the judges still haven’t given anyone a perfect score of 30 out of 30. And so far only three dances have gotten any 10s from the judges. You’d think they would want to be more generous to the kids, but while they’ve been overwhelmingly supportive in their comments, they’ve been more measured with their scores. Will they ever give a perfect 30? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
The first 10 of the season went to “Avengers” actress Ariana Greenblatt in week five, Juniors Choice Night. She performed a jazz dance that received 9s from Val Chmerkovskiy and Mandy Moore and a 10 from Adam Rippon.
Then in week six, Giving Thanks Night, skateboarder Sky Brown got the highest score of the season thus far for her foxtrot, which earned a 9 from Chmerkovskiy and...

The “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” semifinal will do something the mothership series has never done before: dance duos. The remaining four couples will perform individual routines before pairing up for said duos in lieu of a second individual routine. So essentially the dance duos are “Dancing”‘s trademark team dances, just with two couples. It’s probably easier on the kiddies now than if they had done it with the typical four couples per team.
As for the individual routines, the four pairs will perform a foxtrot, paso doble, cha-cha or Argentine tango. For what it’s worth, ABC made no mention of an elimination at the end of Sunday’s episode as it usually does in its weekly press releases, so do with that what you will.

Things were looking up for Mandla Morris on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” The son of music legend Stevie Wonder got his two highest scores in the last two weeks of competition: Juniors Choice Night and Giving Thanks Night. Unfortunately, he couldn’t quite keep up with the rest of the field on Time Machine Night, so his time was up. Do you think he deserved to be sent home after this week’s paso doble? Watch it above.
The top five contestants performed routines celebrating different eras. Most of them performed dances inspired by the past, but Morris went back to the future for a number even he and his pro partner Brightyn Brems had trouble understanding. Their mentor Cheryl Burke conceived a scenario involving wormholes and brainwashing, but once you got past the odd sci-fi concept it turned out to be an engaging piece of paso choreography.

Ariana Greenblatt had to channel the 1940s during her quickstep on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” for Time Machine Night, but perhaps she really wanted to embody the 1960s. From her clip package it looked like she was having trouble getting into character to play a ’40s-era model, but after the dance she told host Frankie Muniz that her favorite movie is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and her favorite actress is Audrey Hepburn, whom she was inspired by during her performance. Did she live up to her inspiration? Watch her glamorous performance above.
While training with her pro partner Artyon Celestine and mentor Brandon Armstrong she played dress-up in a mock fashion show to get into character, but I doubt they had to work too hard to get her out of her shell. She has been one of the season’s most expressive and confident dancers — or if she’s not really confident,...

I’ll admit, it’s difficult to argue that someone on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is getting lowballed by the judges when he got the highest score of the night and is literally the highest scoring contestant of the season, but I think “Black-ish” star Miles Brown has such superior technique and stage presence that if he were on the adult “DWTS” he’d be racking up perfect scores by now. But it took him seven weeks to earn his first, solitary 10. He got it for his 1950s-themed jive on Time Machine Night. Watch it above.
This week the child celebs performed routines celebrating a different era, and for Brown’s jive with pro partner Rylee Arnold, mentor Lindsay Arnold choreographed for them an “I Love Lucy”-style husband-and-wife sitcom number where it looked like Miles had some ‘splaining to do. No matter the judges’ scores on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” it seems clear that skateboarder Sky Brown is winning the charm offensive. The young Japanese athlete has given inspirational messages to young girls and expressed her unconditional love for her parents and younger brother, and on Time Machine Night she said the scores don’t matter as long as she can keep dancing with her pro partner Jt Church and mentor Alan Bersten. But it’s not just charm — girl can dance too. Watch her Charleston above.
Brown went back in time almost 100 years to the 1920s and performed to, appropriately enough, “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” from Baz Lurhmann‘s modernization of “The Great Gatsby.” The Charleston is an especially fast-paced dance style, but Sky has handled similarly frenetic numbers when she tackled cha cha and jive in weeks past. And she didn’t miss a beat — well,...

Episode seven of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” was a night for some wibbly-wobbly dancey-wancey stuff. That’s right, it was time for time travel. On Time Machine Night, the remaining five child contestants performed routines mostly to celebrate an era before any of them were born: the 20th century — yeah, we feel old too. So who had the best time, and who just wasted their time? Follow along with our live blog below for all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
The adult version of “DWTS” ended its season on November 19 with a, shall we say, controversial ending, but going into “Juniors” on November 25 there were still five celebs in the running, all of whom actually have higher judges’ scores than the adult winner Bobby Bones did. “Black-ish” star Miles Brown was the judges’ favorite going into Time Machine Night based on his season-long scores, but still hadn’t...

“Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is going to turn back time and go back to the future on Sunday. For Time Machine Night, the top five couples will perform a routine inspired by a bygone era or a time period that has yet to happen. The farthest back they’re going is the ’20s, aka almost 100 years before some of these kiddies were born. They’ll also cover the ’40s and ’50s, but will then skip all the way the ’80s (so rude to the Swingin’ 60s and disco ’70s).
The couples will perform a quickstep, jazz, paso doble, jive or Charleston. (Is it just us or does “Dancing” nearly always make the futuristic dance a paso?) One couple will be eliminated at the end of the show.

Is Miles Brown losing ground on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors”? He has been the season’s most consistent performer, and after six weeks of competition he’s still the highest scoring celeb with an average of 25.5 per dance, which translates to 8.5 per judge. But he got stuck in the 9s while Ariana Greenblatt and Sky Brown leapfrogged him to earn the season’s first 10s. Then on Giving Thanks Night, even though the judges praised his foxtrot, his scores actually ticked down a bit. Can he reclaim his place at the top, or is he at risk of an early exit? Watch his routine above.
There actually wasn’t much of anything wrong with his foxtrot. The height difference between him and his statuesque pro partner Rylee Arnold was a noticeable impediment — he gave a shout-out to all the short kids in the audience — but the judges lauded him for overcoming it.

On “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” Giving Thanks Night, Ariana Greenblatt performed to the song “Pintame” by Elvis Crespo because “my family always plays this song on the spinning thing,” by which she meant a record player — though she’s so young she might have also meant some other dusty musical antique, like the hard drive of an iPod. She was paying tribute to her family and celebrating her Puerto Rican heritage with a salsa routine that opened a night of gratitude. Watch it above.
Even though Greenblatt performed at the beginning of the night she still had a tough act to follow — herself. On Juniors Choice Night she performed a jazz routine that made history as the very first dance on “DWTS: Juniors” to receive a 10. She got that mark from Adam Rippon along with a pair of 9s from Val Chmerkovskiy and Mandy Moore. She took the confidence...

Scripps National Spelling Bee breakout Akash Vukoti was the youngest contestant on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” this season — a fact he reminded us of with a speech on Juniors Choice Night — and he was never the most proficient dancer, but he made up for that with his good-natured charm. Unfortunately, after weeks of struggling to keep up with his fellow contestants’ scores he was finally voted out on Giving Thanks Night, but he still found it in his heart to give thanks at the end of the evening. Watch his final routine above.
Vukoti dedicated his Giving Thanks dance to his family, so mentor Witney Carson conceived a jazz number in a Bollywood style to the Oscar-winning song “Jai Ho” from “Slumdog Millionaire.” Carson choreographed a routine with simple enough steps that it didn’t overwhelm Vukoti, but with enough content to give him a chance to shine. Like the rest of his fellow contestants on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” Mandla Morris paid tribute to his family on Giving Thanks Night. But unlike the other contestants, his immediate family includes a 25-time Grammy winner. Morris’s foxtrot on Sunday night was in honor of his father, Stevie Wonder, who gave the promising young celeb a boost by performing “Isn’t She Lovely” live during his routine. Watch the routine above.
Morris started the season as one of the most promising contestants, tying for first place on the judges’ leaderboard on night one. But he lost ground in subsequent weeks, finishing fourth in week two, sixth in week three, and fifth in week four. He finally got his mojo back on Juniors Choice Night, and maybe having his pick of songs that evening was enough to spur his confidence. His Giving Thanks foxtrot kept up that momentum — it was truly gratifying.

Our readers have had mixed feelings about Mackenzie Ziegler on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” She’s one of the most technically gifted celebrity contestants, but a lot of that is due to the fact that her primary claim to fame is dancing. She rose to prominence on “Dance Moms” with her big sister Maddie Ziegler. Mackenzie actually dedicated her performance on Giving Thanks Night to her older sib, and then Maddie even came out midway through the performance to make it a surprise trio dance. But the extent to which Mackenzie was able to keep up with her professional-dancer sis highlighted that Mackenzie is more or less a professional herself. Watch her samba above.
That said, Giving Thanks Night did deal her a notoriously difficult dance style, a samba, which is a far cry from the contemporary and jazz styles she’s trained in. And her execution was damn...

I’ll admit, I’ve been skeptical of Sky Brown‘s potential to win this season on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” Though she has led our Mirror Ball Trophy predictions for much of the season, she hadn’t yet topped the judges’ leaderboard. And on Juniors Choice Night her samba left her in her lowest position yet on the leaderboard. But after Giving Thanks Night I’m officially a convert. She could go all the way. Watch her grateful foxtrot above.
Every contestant on “Juniors” ended up giving thanks to their families, and Brown’s came all the way from Japan to watch her train and perform. That included her adorable little brother Ocean — I’m guessing if the family continues to expend her next siblings will be named Earth, Wind and Fire. She danced a foxtrot to the song “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry to reflect her unconditional love for her parents and brother.

While “Dancing with the Stars” will reach its season finale on Monday, “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is still in the thick of its season. Sunday’s episode is just Week 6 of a nine-week season, and since it’s also Thanksgiving next Thursday, you can bet your two left feet that “Juniors” is doing a “Giving Thanks” theme. Unclear if anyone will be dressed as a turkey, but we might get one or two dances that are complete turkeys.
The top six will dedicate their routines — either a jazz, salsa, samba or foxtrot — to those people who’ve had an impact on their lives. We’re guessing Mandla Morris‘ is going to be his dad Stevie Wonder since the singer is performing “Isn’t She Lovely” during his son’s dance.
One couple will be eliminated at the end of Sunday’s show.

Things were looking up for Jason Maybaum on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.” After a slow start at the beginning of the season the Disney Channel star got better and better, increasing his judges’ scores every single week until Juniors Choice Night when he picked the music and concept for his jazz routine and got his highest score of the season … and was eliminated soon thereafter. How did that happen? And do you think he deserved his ouster? Watch his last dance above and scroll down to vote in our polls at the bottom of this post.

Akash Vukoti has charmed the judges on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” and he has charmed the studio audience too, as evidenced by his advancement through the competition despite lower scores. But as the competition has heated up he has needed more and more help from the studio audience votes because his judges’ scores haven’t been improving. On Juniors Choice Night he finished way down at the bottom of the leaderboard after his Charleston, but he survived again. Was he helped by the inspiring speech he gave after the judges’ comments? Watch his dance above.
Vukoti, who at age nine is the youngest contestant in the competition, doesn’t have the technique of some of his older rivals like Miles Brown or Mackenzie Ziegler, but he makes up for that with pluck, enthusiasm and charm. Competitive skateboarder Sky Brown has risen to the top of our “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” predictions in recent weeks. She has been consistently well scored by the judges, and she has a bright, charismatic personality that endears her to the audience. But on Juniors Choice Night, when the young celebs picked their own music and dance concepts, Brown fell to her lowest position on the leaderboard yet. Could she even be at risk of — gasp — elimination next week? Watch her performance above.
Brown chose to dance to “The Greatest” by Sia since it’s her “pump-up” song when skateboarding. That undoubtedly gave her a boost when performing, but she may have been at an immediate disadvantage due to her dance style: a samba, which is notorious for tripping up contestants on the dance floor. Indeed, I thought her routine got off to a slow start, but then it kicked...

What’s it going to take for “Black-ish” star Miles Brown to finally get a 10 on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors”? He got 9s across the board on Disney Night for a total of 27 out of 30. Then he got 9s across the board again on Halloween Night. And on Juniors Choice Night, when the kids picked their own music and dance concepts, Brown got — you guessed it — 9s across the board. Is he going to be stuck there for the rest of the season? Watch his number above.
Brown chose to dance his jazz routine to the title song from “Space Jam,” which perhaps surprisingly is his favorite movie of all time; it was released in 1996, eight years before he was born. Kudos to the kids for appreciating classics from that bygone era. Despite the challenges of learning his choreography over webcam while shooting “Black-ish” and having to dance first,...

“Avengers: Infinity War” actress Ariana Greenblatt has been a judges’ favorite all season on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,” which is why it was so surprising that her scores were so low on Halloween Night. But both “DWTS” shows like to generate drama and set up comeback narratives, so it wasn’t a big surprise that Greenblatt got to close the show on Juniors Choice Night, giving her the opportunity to get revenge with the highest-scoring routine of the night. Watch it above.
I think Greenblatt was a lot better on Halloween Night than the judges gave her credit for with their harsh critiques and scores. They even made her cry with those marks — see what you did, judges! But Greenblatt was determined to make a comeback with a routine that, since it was Juniors Choice, would be on her own terms.
