There is finally news for Heartstopper fans who have been patiently waiting to learn the fate of their show for more than six months. It may not be exactly what they were hoping for (Season 4), but it’s good news nevertheless: more Heartstopper is on the way, and Nick and Charlie’s story will get a proper ending.
Netflix has greenlighted a Heartstopper movie, starring and executive produced by the series’ leads Joe Locke and Kit Connor and directed by Wash Westmoreland, which will serve as a series finale. The announcement was made on the third anniversary of Heartstopper‘s April 22, 2002 series premiere.
Heartstopper creator Alice Oseman, on whose graphic books the coming-of-age romantic series was based, is back as writer of the feature film, which will draw from the upcoming sixth and final volume of the graphic novel.
There is no publish date yet for Vol. 6, which is still being written. Oseman has indicated that ideally, the last book would drop ahead of the TV series’ conclusion.
In the Heartsopper finale, Nick (Connor) and Charlie (Locke) are inseparable, but with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them. Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet. Meanwhile, their friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on. Can first loves really last forever?
Westmoreland, who has an extensive feature background, succeeds Euros Lyn, who directed the first two seasons of Heartstopper, and Andy Newbery, who helmed Season 3.
Locke and Connor join the executive producer ranks of the movie alongside Oseman, Lyn, Patrick Walters, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman who all served as executive producers on the first three seasons. See-Saw Films is back as production company. Filming is slated to begin in summer 2025.
“I am completely overjoyed that we will get to tell the end of the Heartstopper story,” Oseman said. “I’m so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for your patience and passion. I cannot wait to bring this story to a magical conclusion.”
While rare, a movie series finale is not unprecedented – in 2017, Netflix commissioned a Sense8 film following backlash from fans when the streamer canceled the Wachowskis’ sci-fi drama after two seasons on a cliffhanger. Other shows given a movie conclusion by their networks include Timeless (NBC), CSI (CBS) and Deadwood (HBO).
Like most of them, Heartstopper found itself on the bubble after its third season drew 10.9 million views from its October 3 release until the end of 2024, down about 30% from the views Season 2 had garnered over the same period. Season 3 spent two weeks in Netflix’s global Top 10, peaking at No. 4, vs. three weeks each for Seasons 1 and 2, the latter peaking at No. 2.
Still, over the last six months of 2024, the first two seasons of Heartstopper added combined 8.8M views, showing continuing interest in the title on the platform.
What’s more, Season 3 was as well reviewed as the previous ones, nabbing another 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and continued to keep the series culturally relevant by tackling important issues, in this case mental health.
Most of all, it was Heartstopper‘s outsized impact across TV, social media, music and books and its legacy of LGBTQ+ representation that made the case for the show to get a proper ending even if the Season 3 viewership did not quite support a full-blown fourth and final season.

The movie greenlight follows tireless efforts by the series’ creative team.
“I’m working very hard behind the scenes to get us a renewal for Heartstopper… there are so many people behind the scenes who are working really hard to make it happen,” Oseman said in February. “We’re feeling optimistic, we’re feeling hopeful.”
A month later, Walters said that “there are lots of moving parts” on a potential renewal and “we are working hard on it.”
One of the many moving parts was likely making new deals with Connor and Locke, who reportedly no longer had options. Little known when they were cast in Heartstopper, the duo are now in-demand actors with busy schedules coming off starring roles in the movie Warfare (Connor) and Disney+’s Agatha All Along (Locke).
But, just like the cast of Euphoria recently reassembled for a final season, Connor and Locke had been willing to return to the series that made them stars.
“I’d definitely like to do it as long as it’s done right,” Connor recently said. “I just want to make sure that we keep the heart in it. So, we are working on something, and hopefully we’re making it happen.”...

Universal Pictures is developing a live-action adaptation of OutRun, the long-running Sega racing video game franchise, with Michael Bay directing and producing. Sydney Sweeney is also attached as a producer. The project is being scripted by Jayson Rothwell.
Originally released in arcades in 1986, OutRun placed players behind the wheel of a sports car racing against a countdown clock while avoiding traffic and navigating split-path routes. The game became a major success for Sega and remained one of its defining properties through various home console ports and sequels.
Bay will produce the feature alongside Brad Fuller through their Platinum Dunes banner, which holds a first-look deal with Universal. Toru Nakahara, whose credits include Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles, is producing on behalf of Sega. Sega Corporation president Shuji Utsumi will oversee the film.
No plot details have been shared. While the original game emphasized arcade-style gameplay over narrative, it became known for its coastal settings,...

It didn’t take much for Jacob Elordi to sign on for Shaun Grant and Justin Kurzel’s adaptation of the Booker Prize-winning novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
In fact, one email from Kurzel was enough to seal the deal, the Euphoria star told Deadline.
“I’ve wanted to work with him for as long as I can remember,” he said. “Since I was an early teen, after seeing his film Snowtown. So for me, just getting his name in my inbox was all it really took.”
The five-part limited series, which launched Friday in the U.S. just days after Prime Video announced it had secured the U.S. distribution rights, follows Lieutenant-Colonel Dorrigo Evans throughout multiple pivotal moments in his life, from his all-too-brief love affair with his uncle’s wife Amy (Odessa Young) to his time as a prisoner of war on the Thailand-Burma Railway.

Barbarian director’s new Weapons teaser questions why all the children ran away in the dark of night

Someone gives the Pied Piper a run for his money in today’s teaser trailer for Weapons. The latest film from the director of 2022’s Barbarian remains shrouded in mystery, though new footage from the upcoming horror film offers a few breadcrumbs. Zach Cregger shocked the horror community in 2022 with Barbarian, an experience that’s better if you go into it knowing as little as possible. Barbarian captured the hearts of horror fans with its dank atmosphere, powerful performances, and twisted premise. Can Cregger set cinemas ablaze with his sophomore effort? We’ll find out when the film comes to theaters on August 8.
In Zack Cregger’s Weapons teaser, an unknown interviewer speaks with a troubled father named Mr. Graff about a mysterious phenomenon involving kids disappearing in the middle of the night. With no explanation, kids ran from their homes at roughly 2:17 am. No one forced them or pulled them from safety.

The official teaser trailer has been released this morning for Weapons, the new horror movie from Barbarian director Zach Cregger that has been cloaked in mystery up to this point.
That mystery only deepens with the 44-seconds of first look footage you’ll find in the Weapons teaser, which is labeled with a simple message: “This is where the story really starts.”
We don’t have an official synopsis for Weapons but the basic gist is that children in the town of Maybrook disappear in the middle of the night one night at 2:17am, and they never return home again. The teaser clips released so far all featured security camera footage from that town on that night at that time, but this is the first actual footage from the movie itself.
These kids weren’t taken from their homes. They got up and walked out on their own. But why?...

The television adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s prize-winning book The Narrow Road to the Deep North brings with it a number of firsts. It is acclaimed Australian filmmaker Justin Kurzel’s first work for television and also the first time Euphoria and Saltburn star Jacob Elordi has returned home to lead a major Australian production.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television’s Curio Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios Australia, Narrow Road debuted on Amazon Prime Video on April 18, but the limited series, speaking to its feature-like qualities, premiered its first two episodes at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year. In his review, The Hollywood Reporter‘s film critic David Rooney was gushing in his praise of those first two episodes, describing Narrow Road as “big, bold and strikingly cinematic.” “Based on the first 90 minutes, The Narrow Road to the Deep North has potential to stand alongside films like Peter Weir...

Amazon Prime’s latest drama series, The Narrow Road To the Deep North, an adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s novel of the same name, offers a brutal look at the horrific tribulations faced by The Japanese Imperial Army’s POWs during the construction of the infamous Death Railways in Thailand, through the life journey of the lead protagonist, Dorrigo Evans. Flanagan looked into the personal experience of his father to draw vivid details of the inhumane treatment imprisoned Australian Army members suffered at the hands of their captors. While giving up to the lead of his novel, Dorrigo Evans, Flanagan was inspired by the life and exploits of decorated war hero Ernest Edward Dunlop and added his own dramatic flair to make for a nuanced, layered characterization. Led by a number of prolific Australian actors, the cast of The Narrow Road To the Deep North is stacked with talent.

The truth is that while men and women can do most things equally well, many times the man still gets paid more. And not just a little bit more, but quite a lot. Is this fair? Of course not, but many industries have been set up that way. That includes the television and filmmaking industry.
When it comes to the new hit Netflix Western, Ransom Canyon, lead Josh Duhamel makes the most of any cast member. Exactly how much? Who knows? He was the first to be cast after having a long history of successes, including starring on Euphoria. He was the actor Netflix thought it needed to bring eyes to the screen.

Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino may have gone their separate ways romantically, but the chapter between them is far from closed. The pair, who began dating in 2018 and were engaged by 2022, were recently spotted grabbing lunch together in Los Angeles, just three months after their reported breakup.
Naturally, the sighting sparked a whirlwind of speculation, with many wondering whether the two were rekindling their relationship, meeting for closure, or navigating something in between.
The meeting took place at Beverly Glen Deli, a cozy, low-key spot that offered the privacy needed for what appeared to be a meaningful conversation. According to eyewitnesses, they spent about an hour dining and chatting, and at one point, Davino was seen placing a gentle hand on Sweeney’s back, suggesting familiarity and lingering affection. While neither party has spoken publicly about the lunch, sources close to the couple have provided some insight into where things really stand.

Jacob Elordi was planning on taking a break from acting — that is until “Saltburn” director Emerald Fennell asked him to play brooding hero Heathcliff in her upcoming adaptation of “Wuthering Heights.”
“I was really lucky. I was going to take a break for a while, and then Emerald just very simply texted me, and you can’t run from that text,” he told IndieWire in an interview published on Friday.
Elordi also praised co-star Margot Robbie’s performance in the literary production. “She’s incredible in the film, she’s a live wire. I’m so, so excited for people to see it. She’s a beautiful actor and she gave so, so much.”
The Australian actor, who’s current in production on the long awaited Season 3 of “Euphoria,” previously worked with Fennell on 2023’s “Saltburn.”
He recently wrapped on “Guillermo del Toro’s re-imagining of “Frankenstein,” which will be out in November.

A day into its release, Netflix’s new drama series Ransom Canyon has shot to No. 1 on the streamer’s Daily Top 10 ratings in the U.S. The contemporary Western romance, billed as Virgin River meets Yellowstone, stars Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly as childhood friends-turned-star-crossed lovers.
First revealed by Deadline in 2022 as being in fast-track development at Netflix, the adaptation of Jodi Thomas’ books was formally greenlighted in December 2023 after locking in both Duhamel and Kelly as the success of series in the genre relies heavily on the casting of the lead couple.
Both Duhamel and Kelly were top choices. Netflix went after Transformers star Duhamel and, after lengthy negotiations, he was cast first.
Friday Night Lights alumna Kelly was the only actress invited to a chemistry read with Duhamel and was offered the female lead, I hear. I remember the talent community buzzing at the time about Kelly...

Jacob Elordi was ready to take some time off, until the opportunity for Wuthering Heights came about.
Shooting for Wuthering Heights recently wrapped in the U.K., and it’s Elordi’s second time working with the director Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman, The Danish Girl), since 2023’s Saltburn. So, when it came to casting for the project, the actor was able to skip the audition part.
“I was really lucky. I was going to take a break for a while, and then Emerald just very simply texted me, and you can’t run from that text,” Elordi told IndieWire.
The film stars Margot Robbie opposite Elordi, and is an adaption of Emily Brontë’s novel of the same name, which follows the tumultuous relationship between Catherine Earnshaw (Robbie) and Heathcliff (Elordi) that’s passionate and intense after meeting at the eponymous residence and the impact the relationship has on their families.

The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar boiled over last summer when the A-list rappers began firing off diss tracks at one another at a furious rate.
But the situation came to a head in February, when Kendrick took the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show.
As expected, he performed “Not Like Us,” the most savage of his Drake-inspired diss tracks.

The song had already been the subject of a Drake lawsuit against Universal Music Group (which is both his label and Kendrick’s).
Drake alleges that the label pushed false pedophilia allegations by promoting the song.

It's now been over three years since the Season 2 finale of Euphoria, and fans have been getting restless. With news and reveals proving few and far between, the rumor mill has even started to slow its spin. This comes despitefilming reportedly beginning back in mid-January after several setbacks, although today brings an exciting new development for the next outing. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jacob Elordi, the man behind the series' Nate Jacobs, revealed that he had finally begun filming the third season.
During an interview about Elordi's Prime Video series, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, the Aussie actor was asked about being back on set and the return of the series. "I just shot my first days of that this week," Elordi confirmed, adding, "It was incredible. You also have to understand we've grown up on that. We grew up from late teens into adults on that show.

The busy Jacob Elordi is quickly becoming one of the most in-demand actors of his generation. His latest project is a return to TV with Justin Kurzel’s limited series “The Narrow Road to the Deep North,” where he’s a prisoner of both war and love. Following its Berlin premiere in February, the Australian limited series secured U.S. distribution on Prime Video just days before it debuts on April 18.
Adapted from Richard Flanagan’s novel of the same name, the Aussie story follows Elordi as war doctor Dorrigo Evans in the 1940s, who is drafted to the Philippines to aid in the construction of the Burma Railway. Prior to going to war, Dorrigo is engaged to Ella (Olivia DeJonge) but falls into an all-consuming affair with his uncle’s wife Amy, played by Odessa Young. Reddit’s dark corners are once again headed to the big screen, with Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney and Dune co-writer Eric Roth leading the charge. The two are teaming up for a new thriller based on a viral Reddit thread titled “I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl So I Could Rob Her Family” — a chilling tale about deception, identity and a scam gone too far. With Sweeney producing and starring and Roth penning the script, the project is already drawing major buzz despite being in early development.
Joe Cote — an English teacher in Massachusetts — took to a sub-Reddit four years ago and penned a chilling story about a girl who used a family’s heartache as a tool to infiltrate their home and rob them. It was well-received on the site, with almost 4,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments under the post talking about it. Many said a missing person...

There’s a major Euphoria spoiler circulating the internet right now!
Don’t continue reading if you don’t want any spoilers for season three!
Keep reading to find out more…
It looks like Sydney Sweeney‘s Cassie might be marrying Jacob Elordi‘s Nate in the HBO hit’s third season.
Sydney was filmed on set walking down the aisle in a wedding dress. It doesn’t appear as if Jacob is there – however – the aisle clearly has an “N” and “C” on it. Since the characters are linked in the show, it is inferred that the “N” is for Nate. TMZ has images.
Fans are pointing out that the timing of this scene is interesting for other reasons. Sydney was supposed to be getting married to her fiance Jonathan Davino, but they seemingly broke up.
Euphoria‘s third season does not yet have a premiere date. Stay tuned.

Once an occasional big-screen feat steered by the legendary likes of Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, and Paul Thomas Anderson, long takes — aka one-shots or “oners” — are now a staple of prestige episodic TV. From The Bear to True Detective and Mr. Robot, TV producers have been increasingly employing the cinematic technique in service of their small-screen stories, elevating their image and awards potential through dexterously choreographed shots that require a great deal of skill and set-wide coordination.

What’s that I hear? Why, it’s the sound of Gavin DeGraw crooning the opening theme of One Tree Hill. Take me back to the days of flip phones, Sketchers, and AOL Instant Messenger.
Those were the days when teen drama ruled as the last remnants of the late ’90s and early 2000s.
One Tree Hill was a defining show for an entire generation of teenagers. Now, the series acts as a time capsule, freezing a moment in time that many people in their thirties now look back on with nostalgia.
(Warner Bros. Television/Screenshot)
Believe it or not, the show is still popular among the crowd that originally enjoyed it, as well as a new group of kids who are discovering it for the first time.
That’s why Netflix saw an opportunity to cash in on all those memories of Coach bags and Hollister tees. However, can...

Starring in one of Netflix’s most talked-about teen dramas should be a flex, right? Not for Adolescence breakout actor Owen Cooper. According to the child star, although his gritty British series blew up on the streaming platform after focusing on emoji decoding, toxic boy culture, and uncomfortable truths, Cooper called it his “worst nightmare.”
It seems that while audiences are binge-watching the show like it’s the next Euphoria meets Black Mirror, Cooper is hiding from his own performance like it’s a cringey old TikTok. Turns out, seeing his own face on screen is more terrifying than the show’s darkest plot twist.

As casting announcements continue to roll in, speculation and excitement has only grown surrounding Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to his critical and box office hit “Oppenheimer,” which won him the Academy Award for best director.
“The Odyssey” is a classic piece of literature by Homer that is divided between 24 different books, preceded by “The Iliad.” It tells the 10-year journey story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he travels home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters multiple perils and discovers the death of his crewmates. Telemachus (Odysseus’ son), Penelope (Odysseus’ wife), Athena, Circe, Poseidon and Zeus are all major characters.
Historians and scholars date “The Odyssey” to sometime between 750-650 BC. The first printed Greek version became available in 1488. In the centuries since, it has remained one of the most studied, adapted and parodied stories ever with adaptations including the 1911 silent film by Giuseppe de Liguoro, 1954’s...

This first look teaser image for the upcoming “horror epic” – which has been compared to Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia – is a simple photo of an alarm clock set to 2:17am, which is an important time in the world of Cregger’s Weapons. That’s precisely when every kid in town wakes up, gets out of bed, walks outside in the dark and never comes back home.
And that’s really all we know about Weapons at this time, which will be released by New Line in theaters on August 8. Check out the teaser image below and expect more very soon.

Canadian musician Bells Larsen, who is trans, has been forced to cancel his upcoming US tour dates after immigration authorities required government-issued IDs to match “one’s assigned sex at birth.”
“I have to cancel all of the American shows on my spring tour,” Larsen wrote on Instagram. “I received an email on Tuesday from the American Federation of Musicians stating that I am no longer able to apply for a Visa because US Immigration now only recognizes identification that corresponds with one’s assigned sex at birth. To put it super plainly, because I’m trans (and have an M on my passport), I can’t tour in the
States.”
Larsen received the news just two weeks before the release of his upcoming album, Blurring Time, which is about his transition. The artist explained that he had already been considering whether to “go about business as usual” with the tour for several weeks.

Jacob Elordi and director Justin Kurzel spoke about making their new series, “The Narrow Road to the Deep North,” at a preview screening in Melbourne, Australia.
Adapted from Richard Flanagan’s Man Booker Prize–winning novel, “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” draws on his father’s experience as a prisoner of war in Burma during World War II. Director Justin Kurzel and screenwriter Shaun Grant adapted the novel into an emotionally charged five-part series for Amazon Prime Video in Australia. (Read IndieWire’s review here as we await distribution in North America.)
Spanning three decades, the story follows army surgeon Dorrigo Evans through a lovestruck youth, brutal captivity in a Japanese Pow camp, and the long shadow of memory in old age. Evans is played by Elordi in the 1940s and by Ciarán Hinds in the 1980s, as the older man reckons with the defining experiences of his youth.

What Happened To Euphoria Star Eric Dane? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Eric Dane, affectionately dubbed “McSteamy” by Grey’s Anatomy fans, steamed up screens long before his Euphoria days. With a jawline carved by the TV gods and a smolder that could rival a thousand suns, Dane made his mark as Dr. Mark Sloan, the plastic surgeon with a heart and abs of gold.
From Grey’s to The Last Ship to portraying Cal Jacobs in HBO’s chaotic teen drama Euphoria, Dane’s career has been a ride through steamy stethoscopes, naval battles, and deeply flawed fatherhood. Off-screen, things have been just as headline-worthy. In 2004, Eric married Jawbreaker actress Rebecca Gayheart in a surprise Vegas ceremony.
Their chemistry sparked a love story filled with red carpets, growing pains, and two adorable daughters, Billie and Georgia. Though the couple separated in 2018, they’ve kept things cool and co-parented like pros. It’s safe to say,...

Motor neuron disease, better known as Als (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), is a devastating and terminal neurodegenerative disorder for which there is no cure. It's taken the lives of many wonderful people, such as David Niven, Sam Shepard, Ronnie Corbett, Aaron Lazar, Roberta Flack, Kenneth Mitchell, Charles Mingus, John Driskell Hopkins, Stephen Hawking, and Lou Gehrig, whose name has become associated with the disorder. It's a terrifying thing to be diagnosed with, with doctors giving most patients a life expectancy of two or three years (although Hawking famously lived for more than 50 years with it). Today, actor Eric Dane announced his Als diagnosis. "I have been diagnosed with Als,” Dane shared with People, adding:
“I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter. I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria...
