  • It's not bad enough where I don't want to go back and watch an episode but it's not that good either but it's okay

    Warning: Spoilers
Ok this show is not the best. The characters are bland and boring. Gabby Duran is supposed to be this cool girl who's like a rapper. The actor who plays her is Kylie Cantrall, and it has nothing to do with the show, it makes no sense. Her best friend Wesley is the only character I like, but most of the time it's because he's the only one who doesn't make me made. Also the characters are so inconsistent. Her sister is supposed to be a smart little girl but she just comes of as a know it all brat. Also the alien kid Jeremy is just your average 8 year old nowadays saying words like "Baller" and "Yolo" which I would not want my kids saying. Also in the latest episode, her principal shapeshifts into her dad so they can spend Christmas with there dad. Causing Gabby to throw a taunt rum saying she wants her real dad. And the don't even talk about it for the rest of the episode. This show is just not good.

  • Warning: Spoilers
This is a fairly original series when it comes to Disney Channel, because character tropes are mixed together to create the six main characters of the show. This show is not Bunk'd or Jessie or anything else and I will give credit to the writers for that.

However, that doesn't mean this show has its problems. The plot of this story is unconventional. Thirteen-year-old Gabby Duran is hired by her alien principal to babysit younger aliens. Sounds cool, right? Think again. Gabby is an incredibly selfish and manipulative character. She uses Sky, a telepathic alien that can detect people's thoughts with touch, and brings her to school to see who started the rumor about Gabby being a "crybaby". That action results in Sky nearly shutting down after bumping into multiple students in a hallway.

In another episode, Gabby crushes on another student. After consulting her best friend, Wesley, and her client, Kali, she decides it would be best if she gets closer to him in hopes of finding something to dislike about this crush. A way of doing that would be signing up for a type of Big Brother, Big Sister program, where older kids mentor younger kids. This is a program that holds dear to Gabby's crush's heart. Therefore, she decides to sign up... with Kali, her client.

Long story short, Kali is a violent alien and injures said crush with a hornet's nest. The crush ends up hating Gabby for the rest of eternity.

I'm not even sure that the writers are aware of how Gabby is being portrayed on screen.

However, Wesley is objectively the best character. He is not only interested in anything peculiar or odd, he is also caring and compassionate. That's a rare mix. Every other character is flat. I don't feel anything for Principal Swift, even after his poorly-written character development (The Darkness).

Plot seems to be moving along, which is why I keep watching this show. But a plot is not without cliches. I just want to roll my eyes. List includes:

-Pretending to be someone else is used SO many times. The father, Gabby pretending to be Swift, Wesley pretending to be Sky. Sharpen up, writers.

-I know something you don't know (sometimes)

The plot is at times, predictable. It's nice to have some unpredictability for a change. I wanted to see Gabby and Olivia have different presents. I wanted Principal Swift to actually move away. I wanted Jeremy to actually be the watermelon.

Not to mention, they should stop telling us what happens next episode when I'm watching an episode. It's so annoying.

Overall, a somewhat addicting show with subpar characters and plot.

BEST SHOW EVER EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH IT!!! MY FAVOURITE SHOW EVER C'ANT WAIT FOR S2
  • There are sad ways to ruin a show, for example, killing off a character people wanted to see (like Mischa Barton in the O. C.) or by writing terrible endings (Dexter) but the worst way to ruin a children's show is... to smuggle politics.

References to BLM, Green Deal, a just arrived immigrant kid wearing a jacket that reads "Future voter" and a whiteboard marked "Things that made me happy" with the sentence "Obama retwitted me" written in it, are some of the things you'll see in the second season. I won't change my 7 for some of the first season's episodes, but overall, Disney ruined the most original show they have in its hands. So sad.
  • Why are there all the bad reviews that don't say anything? It's like one person didn't like it and made a bunch of bad reviews so it wouldn't get renewed.

I thought I wasn't going to like it because the horns and whistles in the opening sound weird. And the animation is great except for the blobs which are the main race, the space ships and other alien kids look great but the blobs are like an old movie.

But if you watch it, it keeps getting so much better and better, and the story is deep, and Gabby and Swift are both stylish in totally different ways. I hope they all come back in season 2. Wesley and Olivia are both amazing, and Jeremy is so loud I love how he's rude and smart at the same time in such a perfect way.

I also watch Star Trek because my mom likes it a lot and a lot of my friends are into it but honestly I like this a lot better and I think you finish the season with a better feeling of who everyone is and why you should care.

I hope it gets season 2 and season 3 and 4 and 5 and more, and people stop hating on it who probably didn't watch it.

I hate all these aliens and stuff and gabby goes to space they always gotta add extra stuff and in every episode she just baby sits aliens that is what the show is about I is so dumb
  • Bad cgi, acting, and dancing. Disney is a very wealthy company but they couldn't give any money for cgi. Also why is the main character's name in the title. Not like they called star wars luke Skywalker and the war in the stars. where was they makeup Department when they made this. Honestly the face paint looks horrible.
  • This show is a kind of show that can go on for a whole 3 to 5 years until we have to say goodbye. The episodes for this series are new and would bring a lot of people to tune in to the Disney channel. The actors are cool and they seem to know what they are doing, good acting. It's addicting to some people and I would love for new episodes.

They chose the right spot to fish because the cast aren't bland with their acting. It's unpredictable and that's the nice thing. And I would love to see new, cool ideas for new episodes.

    1/10
    Ugh
Can't believe people actually like this cringe. Seriously Disney?
  • Really good show! I've always watched Stuck in the middle and it is so similar to that show.Gabby talks to the camera just like Harley does and the music sounds the same! The themes songs are shortened in the first episode and it is so similar to each other! I will be looking forward to new episodes!
  • I don't even know where to begin. The acting is bad and the concept is really weird in my opinion. The child actors (and I mean like the children not the teens) are really annoying. As far as I know, Disney has never had a show like this before. Now I know why.
  • This is one of the funniest newer Disney Channel shows I've seen since Gravity Falls. It has no annoying laugh track, has some pretty dark humor in it (surprising since it's main audience is middle school girls), and is just entertaining. So what's the plot? Gabby is a middle school aged girl who is sort of ignored by her mom and younger sister. Her principal , whose name is Principal Principal Swift (because he's the principal of the school, and his first name is also Principal) sees something special in her, and reveals that he and his nephew Jeremy are aliens in disguise hiding out on Earth until Jeremy becomes old enough to become king of their planet. Gabby does such a good job babysitting Jeremy on her first day that Swift recommends her to other aliens who are hiding out on Earth. I will say, this is a pretty fun premise. Some of the aliens have very creative designs and powers. There's one alien who was clearly modeled after Eleven from Stranger Things. By far, the best characters on the show are Principal Swift and the Orb. Swift reminds me of Matt Smith's portrayal of the Doctor from Doctor Who, mixed with Dick Solomon from 3rd Rock from the Sun, particularly with the way he unintentionally makes people feel awkward with the way he misunderstands Earth culture. For example, there's an episode where he's teaching Jeremy about dining out, and based on his previous observations, gets the idea that humans always have to send back the first dish given to them. He annoys the waiter by doing this, and they get banned for life. It's like that one 3rd Rock episode where Dick Solomon adds or takes away from his waiter's tip pile based on how satisfied he is with his service. The dark humor in this show comes mostly from the Orb. She sort of reminds me of GLADOS from Portal. There's an episode where Jeremy is sick, and Earth doctors don't have a cure, so the Orb decides that they should let nature take it's course so she can get his room. Never thought I'd hear that on a Disney show, though I guess if Gravity Falls can have a villain say he's going to murder children, anything goes at this point. If you want a modern Disney show that entertains without some of the lower humor, than check out Gabby Duran and the Unsittables
  • I never really liked this show. I tried so hard to like it, I really did. But yeah, no. Mainly because of the main character
  • I WAS SO SCARED WHEN I WATCHED THIS SHOW,NEVER WILL I EVER WATCH THIS SHOW!!!!!I AM 43 YEARS OLD AND I CRIED WHEN I SAW THE ALIENS!!!I I I CAN SLEEP! I HAVENT SLET IN FIVE DAYS!!!FIVE DAYZ!!

I think season 2 is a lot better I laughed at every episode. There might be a different director for this season idk? But something sure has changed.....because my first rating was a 5.
  • This show is definitely a great show I've ever watched on Disney Channel! I really love this. But there was an unnerving end in Season 2 though. Regardless, this show is awesome. Keep it up, Disney!
  • WHOEVER DID THE CASTING OF THIS SHOW NEEDS TO GO TO A HOSPITAL. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING BUT THE ACTORS. THE OBNOXIOUS VOICE OF GABBY, THEY SHOULDVE CHOSE BETTER ACTORS.
  • Warning: Spoilers
