This movie is based on real events. The Royal Spanish Federation of Sports for the Disabled Intellectuals presented a great team at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games. Spain won the gold, but the problem is that it showed that all Spanish players, except two, did not have any kind of intellectual disability. Among them was a journalist (who justified that he was doing a report) and several players of the EBA League, so Spain was forced to return the gold medal. The newspaper 'The Guardian' includes the case of the basketball team of disabled players who were not among the ten most important lies in the history of world sport.
Most of the Sydney Olympic village exteriors were shot in Lisbon, Portugal. For the steering wheel on the mini-bus to be on the right side (like in Australia), the image was flopped. But whatever writing would appear on screen (such as "Sydney 2000" on the side of the bus) had to be printed in reverse.
