  • This year's Madden edition (Madden 19) featured a lot of fun game modes...perhaps the best I've ever seen in an edition of this franchise. The problem? The overall gameplay isn't nearly as strong to match.

I feel as if ever since this franchise updated to the new gameplay engine a few years ago, the "pick up and play" mentality that was once so inherent in the games has faded. Most of the glitches and opportunities for online spamming have been removed (to appease the hard-core tournament players), but this has led to the game being much less accessible to more casual players like myself.

In '19, running the football is basically impossible, which renders most games into arcade shootouts featuring no strategy whatsoever. I prefer my Madden as realistic as possible, and this installment does not provide that. Maybe playing on ultra-easy mode would help, but then I feel as if the game is dumbed-down too much for my tastes.

Overall, then, I have to say I was kind of disappointed with "Madden 19". The auxiliary feature modes are great, but the gameplay isn't realistic/engaging enough for this player to want to spend much time with them.
  • Madden 19 is a joke. Gameplay is foolish and inconsistent. I understand EA was trying to add to the unpredictable nature that is NFL football, but the amount of ridiculous glitches in gameplay are atrocious.

When compared to Madden 18, Madden 19 plays like a significant downgrade. While offering additional game modes, which are intriguing, Madden 19 still does nothing to boost the gameplay.

I recommend you Stick to playing online (where you both will be equally disadvantaged) and hope for the best.

Not a fun game, not worth the hard drive space.
