Jersey is an emotional heart touching movie which is serious in nature,gowtham tinnuri proved himself again after Mallirava..jersey was a complete movie with everything in it,but I felt director would have taken more depth in the way cricket was presented in the movie.
Jersey passes everything & its a must watch for telugu audience.

This is the first film made on a failure cricketer showing how these cricketers do their best but remain unfortunate to make it to the national team which doesn't give them enough name, fame, money but go through lots of struggle in life mostly through financial issues.

What to start with the directors vision or the actors performances. As a 90's kid i know that old days where watching news in durdarshan spider man in the tv after the school. Playing cricket with friends. Those are the best days. By watching the movie i got to recollect those old memories.. To the story a failed man want to try once again his luck by giving his full strength at the age of 36 to show the world what is and what he can do. Man NANI what an actor you are i had to say that i saw only arjun on the screen the way you pulled the character is beyond words.. the scene where " crying your lungs out in the railway station in loud sound" kudos to you.. and the directors work of showing cricket in where it is needed not getting away with it, giving important to the emotions, shows his strength of telling a story. And about music Anirudh lifted the movie to whole new level with his commendable Bgm. Songs blended in the movie so well that it doesn't look like a hurdle inbetween like movies we regularly watch in telugu. If haven't mention wbout the kid, shradha, satyaraj garu ot would be a mistake. They stayed in my head as nani, Sarah and murthy garu. After watching i have mixed feelings. I just had a journey with arjun's character i felt his pain, anger, struggle, joy. RARELY WE SEE THESE KIND OF MOVIES AND PERFORMANCES IN TELUGU CINEMA GO AND WATCH IT WITH YOUR FAMILY. SURE YOU WILL NOT HAVE A EMOTIONAL JOURNEY.

One of the best movie in recent times. Director Gautam Tinnanuri has delivered an excellent film and has used his abilities perfectly for his second film too. The screen play for this movie also looks similar as his first movie Malli Raava. Subtle performances by the cast Nani and Shraddha Srinath. Supporting cast Sathya Raj, Praveen etc. have also played their role with so much of life. The emotions between the Father and Son Relation is brought up amazingly. The climax is the Heart of the film. Music Director Anirudh Ravichander has given his one of the best ever songs and beautiful Background Score. Magical Scenes in some important and emotional places. The subtitle of this film "It is never too late to dream.!" is brought up beautifully in the climax. The only drawback I feel as a movie freak is the lack of concentration on the cricketing scenes and quite the story becomes a bit predictable. But totally a package of love, emotion, passion, journey. Must Watch Film for everyone. Thanks, Vijay Kashyap

Jithindurden12 May 2019More of an emotional drama than exactly a sports drama. With the story that is completely predictable, the makers still manage to make it very engaging with some nuanced writing. Never knew Nani was such an amazing actor. Shraddha perfectly portrayed her character who is something rarely seen in Indian films, a wife who is neither too supportive nor too opposing to her husband's dreams but perfectly mixing all the right phases of emotions. The initial importance that is given to the name Jersey felt important in a way but still felt like a Mcgaffin. However, it turned out to be something that meant much more by the emotional climax twist (if you can call that a twist). Emotional and inspirational although for some it would be a bit too much of just that.

yerramurali29 December 2019Boring second half...the whole movie based on a single jersey(looks like silly). Actually Hero financial position is able to buy a jersey..but director tried to add unnecessary scenes to hero for buying jersey in a worst, slow narrated and boring way. And in between these scenes the comedy track (screenplay, script) is childish writing by narrator.. The main concept of the movie (the director wants to show us ) is how an aged sports person reaches(achieve) his dream. But coming to the movie hero didn't had any particular dream , of course he had decease , and then quits game, and then joins in a govt job, and comes to cricket..in a silly way ... In second half the whole movie filled with cricket matches with boring,expected scenes with no excitement...

Man o man... what a marvellous movie it was. Very hard to start, cherry pick specific scenes and such. I am a dad of a 7 year old boy... I got connected to this movie more ways than one.
Nani = I am fan of your work sir.. Take a bow! Thanks for doing this movie sir.
Director = Gowtam... - Remember this name, If he continues this way, I am sure he will be regarded as one of the best directors in India.
Supporting cast = They all lived their roles.

Not a great fan of Tollywood but yes I have to agree that this movie proves to be a masterpiece and as usual nani has done an amazing job. Couldn't find any insensible scenes rather I was amazed by the Intent and purposeful attitude shown by the character Arjun (hero) who would go any Mile to be the hero his son (lovely kid) and To be a good husband. Movie is as realistic as the real world that we live in Such a beautiful effort from write director and musician Expecting more sensible movies like this from Tollywood ...

Movie is good, awesome and can be watched with any kind of mentality. All together. Movie is an emotional journey of a strong, hardworker, and attitude's failure.... It is powered with real human mentality of overcoming their unbarable problems in life...the music and the concept elivation was perfectly soothing to heart and the final show would give you goosebumps if you're connected to the story. Infact a guy from Karnataka who is craving for job since years had achieved by listening one of the song in this movie repeatedly. Don't know why people aren't recognising the power of words put into musical alphabets like the olden movies now a days. Anyway movie is superb and must watch directions from our side of the youth to all the world inside now and then. Even this is being remake by Shahid Kapoor in bollywood.a nice go watch film. Do watch it you'll be thrilled.

The scenes were so realistic and adds depth to the film.The first half of the film was passable and Interval bang was quite predictable, but what works in big time is the family setup, father-son scenes.The second half is good compared to first half and it was quite inspirational. The biggest asset to this movie is Anirudh's Magnificent music and sound score , there are many scenes which were elevated by his soulful music. And Nani did a fantastic job and so did others. Director Gautam came up with a good story and his writing is also good,but his narration is quite slow.He wrote some good scenes that will be remembered for a long time and I felt like I'm watching a biopic , it was such authentic . If you are looking for something new, Go for it. overall , Jersey is a good watch .

suhascrazy80524 April 2019This movie is only for people who just want to appreciate every movie. It looks like the director or producers have never seen a single cricket match in their entire life. Everything related cricket has been shot in a completely misdirected way starting from selection process. The makers wanted to make it look like the protagonist has some kind of gift for playing cricket but they should also realise that he is not the only person in planet who can play the game. Even if we ignore all these things the main story is quite pointless and bizzare. So to start with Nani is a very talented and gifted cricketer who stops playing cricket as he is afraid that of his health condition. He has syndrome which affects the heart function so he do should not take much stress. He stops playing cricket as he has two dependents on him, his wife and son and he could not take a decision which might affect his health. He gets many opportunities in middle to work as a coach but he denies every opportunity and at the age of 36 he wants to take the game seriously as a player as he wants to buy a jersey for his son. And he has to money to buy. And in the final match he dies because of his condition. People have been appreciating the protagonist's character that he tried to buy his son a jersey by playing even though he knows that he is going to die. The story do not have a border, if a person is very much motivated for a sport and not caring about his health condition that is really appreciated, but here is a guy who wants money to buy a jersey and he denies every opportunity he ha, to work as a coach and finally dies in the process of buying his son a jersey. Did he really wanted to take care of his family??.
Bottom line: Trust me guys don't waste your time and money on this movie. -
sagor_936425 February 2022There is a reason I gave this movie a perfect score. Not because of the drama, or the cricket or the emotional sequences. Mostly because of the love for the main character. The character development is outstanding. From the start you are going to see a lot of flaws in what he is doing, from his past to the present, many of his decisions may seem unreasonable and immature. But after seeing the whole movie, I came to relate so much with the character. He was a broken man, living his life half-dead already, and then he decided to take some risky decisions, proving to everyone that It's never too late to try. The music is world class and very touching as well. And lastly, I loved one of the dialogue of the film, "You should always try to live big, not live long"
