The trailer for this movie is actually better than the film itself. It could have been a lot better if they had stuck with a darker theme and left the silly dialogue and scenes out. There are many ridiculous things in the movie that we are lead to believe would just be common place in real life. Most notably the sheriff who just decides to kill people off handedly. The idea that the sheriff and the weirdo in the woods have been purposely taking people into the woods to turn them into werewolves so they could hunt them is just downright stupid. Werewolves are said to be much stronger and faster than regular humans and that would just mean the sheriff and anyone else there would be ripped to pieces by them. But werewolves in this movie don't exhibit the traits even the movie says they possess. It's basically a semi-decent concept with annoying characters, an unbelievable plot and bad writing.

nogodnomasters22 January 2021This is another girl left for dead and then gets revenge tale. The difference in this story is Lisa (Kristen Vaganos) has been bitten by a werewolf and has extra strength.
Why Lisa was picked on in the first place was not developed. I am not sure of the significance of the Barcelona masters degree in record keeping. The film has various homages to "Werewolf of London" and :Last Man on Earth." but it did little to improve the script.
It was an okay low budget film. Not much on special effects.

MinistryofDoom11 October 2021Ah yes, a werewolf movie....if by "werewolf" one means a woman in yellow contact lenses and pointy teeth. Do not be misled: there are no actual werewolves in this movie. There is very little horror here as well. What we are treated to is a mopey girl who whines and complains throughout most of the film, saving the last 20 minutes for when she finally goes nuts, but even then, it's a huge disappointment because what you're expecting to finally happen..never does. The score was good though!

manuelasaez12 October 2020I have seen some bad horror movies,(and ever worse werewolf themed movies), but this one is on a whole other level of terrible. It's like you take the worst parts of every werewolf movie you've ever seen (bad acting, terrible script, insufferable cast, amateurish special effects and some of the worst cinematography I've seen in any movie all year) and even that movie would be better than this one. Seriously, why go through all this trouble of getting funding, writing a script, finding a cast, and filming a movie if it is just going to be this dreadful? Did the creative team not screen this to anyone, and were the BOO's I'm sure they heard from the audience not enough to tell you that this movie was just plain bad? I just don't understand how a movie like this happens.
It's like everyone involved in this did not understand what it takes to make a watchable film. It really blows my mind that with all of the resources at someone's disposal, all of the best works to draw on and finding inspiration from past successful werewolf films, you still make THIS! It's enough to make this jaded horror fan weep in exhaustion.
Save your time, people. It's not worth it. Waste your time watching something dry. Like your tears. -

parry_na8 September 2021I enjoyed this tale about lycanthropic activity in a small town run by corrupt law enforcers. The horror element is played down throughout most, and some may not enjoy the more character-based scenes, but I have no problem with slow burner films and it is good that the audience is given time to get to know the characters.
The story is somewhat over-the-top in some areas, namely the actions of the local police. Their corruption threatens to become ridiculous after a while, but it fuels the drama and makes the ending effective.
An obviously low-budget venture, the actual wolf of the title is featured only briefly in all its glory. My score is 6 out of 10. -

But starting now, I'm going to make it my mission to leave a negataive review if two criteria are met: 1: I watched the film and it was horrible, and 2: If I see that there are obvious fake reviews posted by anyone involved in making the film or by paid shills. Those two who gave a 10-star review, I'm looking at you! This film had zero budget, zero acceptable actors, and zero entertainment value. When are people going to learn that posting fake reviews (although par for the course these days) causes more harm than good.

I usually check the reviews on here before I rent a movie and there were actually some good reviews for this movie so I took a chance. Bad decision on my part, for this was a very weak movie. I kept waiting for some satisfying revenge and it never came, just weak kills. Unless you're desperate and have nothing else to watch steer clear from this weak attempt at a werewolf/revenge movie.

For a victim revenge movie - it's boring as F(^k.
No tension, weak dialogue, no interesting reason to maintain the viewer.
Not enough violence, not enough build-up.
The one and very impressive thing this has going for it, is the aerial photography. Whomever did that knows their stuff.
Good drone video photography. Excellent drone photography.
The rest is lame on many levels.
I was really looking forward to a vicious attack from everybody and some nice battles but it was so depressing - just like 2020, so it was a let down to accompany the year and all it brought us. -
gothina7 August 2021I thought by the looks of it and trailer, it was going to be a great movie but it was not. The character didn't even try. There was hardly any action and I felt as if the two girls seemed more like lovers than best friends the way the plot was going. It was badly made. Don't waste your time.

scm-587418 April 2021Um.... Ok.... I hate just slamming movies. I tried to watch this with the idea that it is a low budget movie and would be campy/corny at best. I figured the acting would be lacking a little. The acting in some scenes just made me laugh out loud. I can appreciate that they didn't want to have the obligatory full blown transition to werewolf type scene and I wonder what a larger budget could have done there. Again, check your brain and see what happens. :-)

I'm a fan of the furry horror movies. I'm still waiting with excitement for what the future may bring in the form of transformations and lifelike supernatural werewolves. This movie is not this on any level. I see instead that if they had taken the direction of a vampire fairy tale instead, it would have been a better movie. It is not a horror film and not a comedy but a small but still perfectly ok film and you do not lose interest despite the lack of depth, production, atmosphere, talent, etc. Do not know if I can recommend it as a horror movie but rather a drama. The main character does what she can with the role, but it feels a bit limited. Lower your expectations and it's a perfectly acceptable story of revenge, sort of.

Forget bad reviews and give it a try I enjoyed it and main character very good and well acted, bit different from most werewolf films and never heard of any of actors but enjoyed it. I find I spend lot of time just looking at trailers but not watching full films because lots of film channels and films to watch so hard choice and and lot of rubbish films out there but this held my attention and young lady star very easy on the eye. I live in UK and have never been to America but do love films set on these towns and love a good horror story ,didn't find this scary but very watchable and entertaining.

dshannon10421 March 2024I AM LISA is an enjoyable take on the werewolf genre. You have the heroine who tries to understand what is happening to her - especially as she begins killing the villains. The main villain, Sheriff Deborah Huckins, played by Manon Halliburton, is as evil as they come. Personally, I think she should have suffered more at the end, that's how well Manon Halliburton plays evil.
Jennifer Seward as Sam, Lisa's best friend, plays her role believably, which must be hard to do when your friend is a werewolf.
One issue I had was that it was obvious what order the villains would be killed - least villainy (is that a word?) to most. But it was still fun to watch the revenge kills.
I liked it and I'm not Lisa. -

Seen way too many movies with acting far worse, so this doesn't deserve all the 1's and 2's, nor does it rate any hire that a 6, even for a low budget Indi. Don't expect American Werewolf in London or even Ginger Snaps and you'll enjoy this one more.
