  • After experiencing Arjun Reddy, I wasn't expecting Shahid can live upto that. But what he did even after frame by frame copy is marvelous.

Totally recommended. It's a real cult movie. Enjoy
  • Warning: Spoilers
It was an okay movie. 3h 52m was unnecessary hassle to go through after watching the ending. Kabir Singh is the luckiest guy that ever lived. 1.He tops the college without having to study while having a perfect kind of persona about him 2. Gets away with medical negligence 3. Gets off alcohol without even trying 4. Survives an overdose 5. Lose conciousness during an operation but still manages to save his patient. 6. Marry the love of his life 7. And finally everyone is letting go of the plotholes in the movie It's a watchavle movie but calling it a masterpiece is a disgrace to other genuinely good indian movies. I totally disagree with such glorification of a sociopath.
  • The remake stays mostly true to the original. However, the original had better chemistry between the lead actors, hence the love story seemed more effective. While Kabir Singh is a welcome change from stereotypical love stories, this kind of love affair needs some getting used to. Through his protagonist, Sandeep bets all his cards on his leading man, making sure you either love him or hate him, but you can't ignore him.

In this film, relationships come across as a blood sport where the risk of injury is high and only the strongest screw-up will survive. 'Kabir Singh' is truly the survival of the despicable. Their collective action - when they break up - is a crash course on self-flagellation. It's also a much-needed departure from the usual syrupy Bollywood love stories that showcase grand gestures.Put a ring on 'Kabir Sigh' if you are in the mood for watching a love story that's wonderfully wicked and warped.

Kabir Singh is a good watch mainly because of how well the main character is balanced by Shahid Kapoor. Vanga doesn't lose sight of the journey and doesn't forget that amidst all the existentialist dilemmas and song placements, he's telling a modern tale of a toxic male which cannot be justified but has to be told in an entertaining, compelling way. And that it does!

Although Sandeep Vanga does a scene-by-scene adaptation of Arjun Reddy in Kabir Singh, the new take fails to be as impactful as the original. The former also had a long run time, but as a viewer, we didn't mind it as the characters, sequences and emotions were raw. At 2 hours 52 minutes, Kabir Singh works only because of our leading man, Shahid Kapoor. He breathes life into the character of Kabir Singh and showcases a range of emotions from passion, hatred and rage bordering on lunacy. Kabir Singh will definitely click with the youngsters.

Not the typical romantic saga. Unconventional, but powerful. Shahid is outstanding, career-best act. Kiara is lovely. Director Sandeep is an incredible storyteller. Overstretched runtime is a deterrent.
  • Ok, Kabir Singh is not your picture perfect protagonist and neither the director tried to show him in that light.

It's about a guy who's not perfect, has anger issues but has fallen in love and doesn't want to move on after he's hurt. For him, she is everything.

It's not your KJO type movie wherein the protagonist is a hero who won't do a bad thing, his families are happy with him, his neighbors are happy and the entire college or city is happy with him.

It's a story about a flawed person which is totally normal in real life. Don't we have such friends or colleagues or people around us who we may not like but they are like that? So, if you feel it's patriarchal and misogynistic, it is but it is that story about that man! Period.

Through his perspective, we realized he was pure and didn't believe in casteism that comes in the way of love. Have we not come across that? Do we not become partial to other castes? My own marriage had almost become a victim of casteism but we held our own and now happily married for many years.

We saw a full circle of Kabir who was a sensitive child in love with a doll but was also possessive. We saw how he became protective for a new girl in college and she being a docile, submissive girl also fell in love with him. She loved him. It's not like he forced himself on her.

He got hurt, did wrong things but still was a man of morals and came out clean when needed. He acknowledged himself that's the only thing he liked about himself.

His coming of age while talking to his father when the latter was down in his life, shows his character development wonderfully written by Vanga. I'm his fan now.

Lots of hints are thrown out in open here's a guy with so many issues is the topper of his college, did what the society wanted of him which is to be topper, study well, be a doctor but then he didn't give a damn about what he wanted to do in his personal life and what others thought of him.

Other things he did when he did while womanizing he was broken and hurt. People when hurt deal with their issues differently. While some throw their phones on the floor in anger, others may just tell themselves to get up and go. Was he right? It's about his story and life, not ours.

Need to view that story from that perspective and feel his pain and disagree where you didn't like it. But you can't say it's glorifying his wrong deeds.

Was Padmavat glorifying Khilji's work or GoT glorifying nudity and butchering?

I loved this new type of love story. The team worked hard and I loved all the characters in the film especially his friend Shiva - a true real raw friendship.

Kiara was beautiful and could be the next big sensation as Disha did after MS Dhoni.

Shahid can finally be sure his father is proud of his work. Never felt it was him and not Kabir for a second.

Request to the viewers to not be judgemental and watch it for what it is. Mind you, you'd not be disappointed. Peace!
  • Happy Indian Typical ending.. ending should be drastic..
  • Kabir Singhis almost scene to scene replica of Arjun Reddy.

The movie is about a short-tempered and brash surgeon Kabir Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and how his life changes when he falls in love with Preeti (Kiara Advani).

Despite its almost 3 hour run-time, Kabir Singh keeps you hooked and engaged throughout.

There is no dull moment in the film. Even when the proceedings take a dark turn.

The performances were the key and Shahid Kapoor is the driving force of the film. If he had failed, the movie would've fallen flat on its face.

From the different looks, the brash attitude, the short-tempered persona to the dialogue delivery, Shahid Kapoor nails it.

Kiara Advani's makes a mark as Preeti. She looks beautiful and performs well. Even though her screentime is restricted, Kiara makes you fall in love with her.

Cinematography is good. The music is melodious and amazing.

Now coming to the downside, And a word of advice for everyone, Shahid's character is not to be idolised.

He is often shown to be an a$$hole of the highest order who treats almost everyone around him as a commodity, n in one scene he treats Preeti n her father too badly and even slaps her and badmouths her father and family. (Its not nice - a wrong attitude) But, despite all that Preeti maintains a submissive attitude., poor preeti 😔

Overall, Kabir Singh is an entertaining and engaging film. Shahid Kapoor's angry young man avatar, the melodious music and outstanding background score make it a winner. Watch it.
  • People with bias are reviewing the movie. Watch it, it's mind blowing. Great acting, awesome music scores and really awesome direction. Cheers!

Captures the essence of the original so well Shahid and Kiara both put up their career best performances and strive in the role A perfect ode to the original
  • Guys it does have the same flaw as that of Arjun Reddy which shows patriarchy nd it can't be neglected. But guys u must admit that the performance and the journey wise this movie is one of the best of 2019 FOR SURE!!!!

It's mind blowing. It's an honour for me to watch amazing journey of love. To everyone it's superb. Go don't waste your time in other movies, WITNESS THE JOURNEY OF INFINITE LOVE OF KABIR SINGH.
  • This movie is about a guy who has uncontrollable anger and nobody has been able to control his anger being a top medical student. He does things for a girl which is totally unrealistic and extremely open. The girl seems to be so dumb to accept anything and everything he says and he does. They seem to be madly in love that the scenes are mainly about being intimate without having any meaningful conversation.

The guy and the girl wants to get married but are not able to do so due to family pressure. Families seem little logical here. The guy's family has not been able to control him for any of his actions.

In latter part, psycho has gone crazy after girl has been forcefully married by her parents. He gets into more and more trouble. Family gets little bothered now. There is a happy ending for such a dark story which is unacceptable.

Sad part : the guy never got treated in rehab and was never declared psycho.

Good part : Hero 's acting is awesome so one point for that.
  • U can't get better than this from this guy.. this guy who has been an absolute crazy.. this guy who has done hell of an acting.. this guy who is Shahid Kapoor. Kabir Singh is an absolute Ripper.
  • Okay, first things first - all the accusations of misogyny and toxic masculinity by the Indian media and critics are tiresome. Today's critics hardly put effort into reviewing the actual product by the cinematic quality of it but more judge it based on how well it serves their agenda, and the agenda is to show they have an agenda. So yes, the lead in this film is indeed what they call a toxic male, very short-tempered, and quite full of himself, but boy, it's a movie! It's a character, and such characters do exist. Right, he's often just despicable, but is cinema here just to show us characters that we like? More than anything, the context of the film is important, and the context here is hardly ever serious.

So yes, indeed, if the film was a little more realistic, it could have been a strong drama about a man on the way to self-destruction a la Devdas, but the film never takes itself seriously, so why should we. The first half in particular is hardly ever convincing, especially the college portions, which are almost fantastical in how weirdly they're filmed. That the entire school is scared of that one guy who walks like a raging bull across the streets and yet he's that kind of genius who knows it all in his medicine courses while we don't see him take even a minute to read a book is a little funny. The entire feel of the story and the romantic portions employ this sort of senseless, silly style.

That being the case, the entire film is hardly convincing as a story, but what it has going for it is its wonderfully whimsical and playful spirit, which makes it really fun. Just watching the male lead chasing his maid down the stairs because she broke a glass is hilarious. Other than that, all the drama doesn't really touch the heart. You never really feel for the characters much even when everything seems serious. Shahid Kapoor is a hoot - highly entertaining and very much in character even if he doesn't reach you emotionally. Kiara Advani is pretty and the legendary Kamini Kaushal is a true bonus, and she gets great lines. Kabir Singh is a fun film with good music - pure entertainment.
  • The movie is glorifying toxic masculinity. You can treat any gender the way he treats his actress. Kabir Singh is not a hero but villain in any girl's life. The director is an bigger idiot who is saying in his interviews that its not true love if you can't slap each other.
  • What a movie & what a powerful acting by sahid kapoor. This movie was awesome i watched it 2 times still i loved it & want to go for once more time
  • What should I say Shahid Kapoor, he was on his peak in this character. But the most amazing thing is even Emran Hashmi do not have enough kisses in his whole carrer to complete with Shahid's kisses and cigarettes in this film.

Its not like any other Bollywood Movie i've ever watched. They acting is great and the tone in the Movie is just perfect. The ending wasn't what i would have wanted. But its a Bollywood Movie. So they make em that Way. But good Movie.
  • #Kabirsingh #KabirsinghMovie

Brilliant performance by shahidkapoor.Kiara just lived in Preethi's character especially in that climax scene. Sandeep Reddy Vanga recreated same impact with his kickass direction and smart writing. Even though I watched #ArjunReddy more than 7 times still that BGM by Harshvardhan Rameshwar gave me Goosebumps-

Bollywood brace yourself because Kabirsingh is going to rule Boxoffice for sure.Get your appointments today with our Dr.KabirSingh. Those who are asking who did best Vijay or Shahid- I am being Honest here: In emotional scenes Shahid just nailed it.

P.S -Congrats to entire team of #Kabirsingh -Pride of TFI #SandeepReddyVanga🔥
  • First things first. Music was good, acting of the actors were fine enough, cinamatography, the cast was perfect. The storyline was a bit dwindling and obvious. The movie potrays the patriarchy society and the way women are treated by their famlies or their counterparts. In all a one time watch

The story is heart touching. The acting of Shahid Kapoor is remarkable. Good sense of humor too in the entire film, which keeps ppl laughing through out the film.
  • Warning: Spoilers
People are busy commenting on what Kabir's flaws are. So what ? Are we only supposed to make movies on good boys ? A film could be a story told about anyone, a don or a king. Whether his character is misogynistic or his lady love endures his abuse is not the debate here.

As a film, it's well made. Good cinematography with a great performance by Shahid as the edgy, snappy, and eccentric doctor with a lot of anger and substance abuse issues.

However, the ending seemed way too simplified and tied with a golden ribbon. Logical follow through would mean he undergoes rehab or withdrawal symptoms, or get another job, however skipping all of it he gets his girl back skipping all of the above steps. Too rushed and convenient at the end of it.

Movie is nice but the behaviour of kabir towards his parents are not good .he is a preety much talented guy but he bahaves very arrogantly with his parents like smoking in front of dad etc that's not good for the youth
  • This movie is so hopeless that you just are waiting there for it to end. Bad dialogues, its all about how guys can do anything and try to justify their actions based on a tragic love story. The girl doesnt even have a single dialogue until the end. She is just there to show the love interest of the guy. This is the most hopeless film i have ever seen and i regret watching it. Moreover I judge the people who like it.

I am not saying this because of cuss words or drinking or drugs but because of the guys attitude. Such films should not be made as they are spreading a hopeless message. It shows that girls dont have any say in anything and they are just the guys love interest and they dont even have a say in that.
