Adam Sandler I always thought was hated on to much. He's a guy with comedian talent. This stand up special is no different. He delievers on hilarious punch lines, and funny catchy songs. The ending will bring a tear in your eye, leaving you wanting more.
  • Adam Sandler is a genuinely funny and multi talented guy. This production hearkens back to his first comedy album, "They're All gonna Laugh at You!" He has come a long way since then with comedies, dramas, and even action movies, but this is reminiscent of the immature BS that made us laugh so much 25 years ago. Fart jokes, sex, gay stuff, F bombs and all that wrapped in a kindhearted delivery from a world class goofball with a genuine love for entertaining people. It is low brow comedy that does not rely on being disgusting or shocking; it somehow comes of on the cute side of that genre. Absolutely no political commentary! Just immature jokes from an older dude who continues to make me laugh with this new material. It's not for everyone (my parents would think it's stupid) but I loved it and will watch again.
  • If you like Adam Sandler you should like this. His jokes are similar to his acting personality silly but funny.

I loved it, ive not seen him do anything good for a long long time so this was refreshing.

I love his musical talent and songs.

Dont expect louis C K , Ricky Gervais clever joke writing . Its silly scenarios, bizarre jokes nothing thought provoking. but still great for the style it is and the songs are great and very funny.

There are some negative reviews here so I'd like to give one from the positive side. I'm a huge Adam Sandler fan, present tense. However, I am capable of recognizing when his items are no good. I recognize that much of the later work is not very good. However, this special is vintage Adam Sandler. It's both funny and emotional. You may have to have some knowledge of his old work to have that nostalgic feeling, but it's definitely there. This is actually an emotional set, and it was when I saw it live in Houston as well. I preferred this better than the live show. Complaints ab about it structure of stand up comedy and how it's supposed to be done by some of the reviewers here are unfounded. Sandler has been doing stand up for a long time. Some of this can roll forward into a new album, which would be a great idea, and I'd definitely buy it.
  • Well, I've watched every freaking standup comedy special there is and, let me tell you, this is on my top 3. Freaking hilarious and I don't even like the guy as a comedian on his movies! But this is amazing, in fact, you know what... I'm gonna watch it again right now. Period. It's THAT good.

The Chris Farley song is amazing btw. He should release it as a single or something.
  • I laughed so hard i had a physical cramp in my side and when the end came around i was in tears and wished there was more. It's definitely worth watching!
  • Warning: Spoilers
If you don't like him don't watch it. Simple. If like me you have loved his films since bulletproof and his comedy since SNL you will love this. And the Chris Farley tribute is pure class. 10/10.

Is this great? No. Is it hilarious? No. That said it had it's moments and looked like Sandler was having fun. I enjoyed it. I can't say that about most anything Sandler has made recently which may have skewed my score but oh well. He brought back his goofy singing and stuff which got him noticed in the first place. He also had a touching song about Chris Farley which alone made it worth the watch for me.
  • Heartfelt and sincere. If you like old school Sandler, you will like this one. Some people have way too much salt....
  • I thought he was funny but he wasn't as funny as he used to be. You can tell that he hadn't been on stage doing standup in a long time. I just think that he grew into his amazing acting talents more. So much so that his comedy ability has declined bc of taking a backseat to his acting. Maybe it's bc it seems like his comedy hadn't had a chance to grow or evolve much from the 90's. Yes, that's it! His jokes feel like 90's comedy being told now in this era. A bit cheesy. Just my opinion.

I dont know which stand up the critics are watching, but the one I watched on netflix was 100% not funny. Rowan can make me laugh out loud without saying a word, but Adam uses more than a thousand words and still is not funny. Dont get me wrong I love him, since his SNL career, but this 100% fresh is not even close to funny like he once was. Of course it has glimpses of funny, but so few and forgetable ones that it does not repay all 1 hour and change that it made me waste by watching it.

That song dedicated to chris farley got me. I know a lot of people might find his jokes stupid but that's just what makes it so damn funny.
  • Adam Sandler you had me Laugh and Cry. I was in TEARS when you had that song ABOUT Chris Farley IT WAS AWESOME. You are a Champion TRUE FRIEND. I BROKE INTO TEARS. MY GOD I MISS HIS MOVIES. THANKS FOR THE REMINDER OF HIS WORK. This was one of the BEST STAND UP SHOWS I EVERY SEEN. THAT VERY LAST SONG. WAS ANOTHER REMINDER OF YOUR WORK. THOSE TEARS IN YOUR EYES WAS THE WORK OF A REAL MAN. THAT WAS PROOF. THAT YOU ARE VERY PROUD OF WHAT YOU DO. THIS STAND UP SHOW HIT THE HEART AND COMEDY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH IT MADE MY WEEK BRIGHTING UP MR. SANDLER. YOU ARE THE MAN.

This special is so hypnotizingly captive, hilarious and pulls feeling from every single emotion you have. This man is an absolute gentleman and an extremely talented human!! Hats of to yoy Mr. Sandler. I appreciate your life man!!! P.S R.I.P Chris Farley!
  • Watching Adam Sandler do stand up at times can be genius. He is not your typical stand up and that makes him very unique. I was excited to see this special. Unlike other comedians stand up specials that is a one venue, this is in several venues. Had a great appearance by Rob Schneider. A tear felt tribute to Chris Farley, and a reworked song from the Wedding Singer. In the past adam has made a few poor decisions with his movie roles (Jack and Jill) I absolutely loved That's My Boy,Wedding Singer, Little Nicky, Funny People, and of course Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison even his semi-Serious roles like Spanglish and Men, Women and Children. And his albums mostly songs but several sketches so seeing him doing stand up is great, and I hope to see him do more of it. I love ya, Adam
  • Where's my sense of humor? I thought I always got it, but how come I didn't and couldn't laugh even once for this guy's crap? The problem might be still mine since I never thought this guy is funny, not in the least. The audiences laughed almost every word this guy said and sang, but were those words or the terrible sound he made as singing really that funny? Or they just wanted to fool themselves and trying to make every penny they spent on this dude worth? I've paid more attention to these attendances' moronic reactions to whatever the guy did and thought their stupid and senseless laughs were more entertaining funny than this dude's boring crap.
  • I was surprised by this. It was actually funny and goes back to his earlier style comedy. His other new Netflix movies have stunk to high heaven and I really was starting to think he'd totally lost it. If you like his early films and SNL I recommend this.

    10/10
    Amazing
This made me laugh out loud as well as pulled some emontional strings, the most I have enjoyed any special in a while. 10/10 well deserved
  • Ehh ok. I laughed a couple times but it was not great like how people are hyping it up
  • I am so sick of comics all relying on using Politics for material now days!

Absolute Genus SANDMAN!!! I LOVED IT!!! Funny as HELL and HEART FELT all in one!!

    Awesome job Adam!

Wish I could rank it higher!

I like Adam Sandler in the way you like your inappropriate obnoxious uncle... he's stupid and makes cheesy jokes, but you can't help but to laugh. There's something really charming and genuine about Sandler that keeps you coming back for more.

I will say this was better than I was expecting, and the tribute to Chris Farley definitely got me choked up.
  • Man, this was tough for me to watch. The first few minutes in I was surprised but decided to wait for the comedy or storytelling bit to start - sadly it never did.

It feels like a lump of old material Sandler had found in a drawer and said "hey, there's money to be made here!". With the amount of good standup routines available now, with a compelling story, laughs and above all, a point to be made, this is just a waste of time.
  • Such a unique standup. Funny & Emotional. And hey respect restored for Sandler, the guy is a genius
