  • Survivor Series had a dreadful lineup, it was doomed to fail but came out better than I expected. Here I'll break it down.

    Kickoff Survivor Series Tag Match

Exactly what I expected in regards to outcome, but credit where credit is due the match quality was considerably better than I expected. Some great move series and double team manoeuvre. But honestly this was just filler with people they didn't know what to do with.

    Womens Survivor Series Match

Predictible, gimmicky and with absolutely no surprises this was your run of the mill match with a baffling ending that demonstrated that incompetence is rewarded.

    Seth vs Shinsuke

This was a dream match and the one I thought would steal the show. Rollins being one of the best in the world and a true work horse for WWE versus the charismatic incredible Nakamura for the first time ever! Sadly Shinsukes career has been in a nose dive ever since losing his fued with Styles, that title is doing him no favours. The match should have been a spectacle but simply wasn't. I don't know if they just lack chemistry but it just wasn't happening in there.

    AOP vs The Bar

I actually thought this could be good, heel vs heel dynamic, veterans vs newbies and a manager each. Truth be told I just want Big Show to retire, at this stage he's stale and rather counter productive. The match was passable, the outcome was logical.

    Cruiserweight Championship

In a RAW vs Smackdown themed ppv why did this match happen? It looked so out of place! Not to mention that 205 is long since dead and WWE aren't willing to do something about it. Entertaining match with absolutely no crowd reaction at all, people don't care.

    Mens Survivor Series Match

The match had its moments, storylines continued, McMahon did his trademark bump to makeup for his embarassing wrestling and the outcome was as predictible as you'd expect. Again, no surprises.

    Flair vs Rousey

I've been impressed with Rousey, she's taken to sports entertainment really well but I'm not convinced that the way they've booked her has been smart. All that rhetoric about her being "Just one of the girls" and "Not getting any special treatment" then her first singles match was for the title! This match was always predicted to be a Mania match, possibly the main event. Here the two put on a decent bout and it didn't go the way I expected, I loved the finale and all the credit in the world to Rousey for it all.

    Brock vs Daniel Bryan

This first time ever was a tricky one, both men needed to stay strong, both men would be damaged by a loss so what did they do? Well, the match itself was actually not bad and not the squash match Lesnar has the habit of insisting. The outcome however was predictible and did nobody any favours.

So, Survivor Series was devoid of any shocks, any surprises or anything that will in the long run really affect anyone. It was paint by numbers stuff through and through.

    The Good:

    "Some" high quality performances

    The Bad:

Nia rewarded for what happened on RAW

    Very predictible stuff

Certain people just being absolutely wasted

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

    Shinsuke Nakamura has forearms

    WWE rewards for incompotence

Asuka and Shinsuke need to go back to Japan

Shinsuke Nakamura actually did mma back in the day!

R-Truths comedy routine will never get old

    RAW just buried Smackdown

This show isn't bad first up. It just lacks depth and I really think the Ronda vs Becky match would of made this show great. The tag matches are what they are, the womens one told a great story. But something was lacking, and when NXT probably just had their best show ever, this felt flat. I guess i was waiting for something to happen that warranted me using my 3 and 1/2 hours to watch this. Not even a return or anything. Show finished early, it's very eh. You won't hate this show, but you'll find you could of just skipped it and you wouldn't have missed much
  • Warning: Spoilers
Survivor series is an event held yearly between WWE affiliates - RAW and SMACKDOWN. I am here to discuss what caught my attention this year.

The final match between Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan which was thought to be one sided did not turn out the way predicted, instead the way it turned out was a treat to watch. Daniel made it really hard for Brock and it appeared that Brock really took quite a beating.

What I enjoyed further was men's survivor series match. Despite fight among themselves RAW team won by a good margin. Braun Strowman ruled. The Seth vs Shinsuke match - it was nice to see my favorite contender (of today) win.

RAW won with a clean sweep (6-0). It makes me think the results are not pre decided on that scale and if it happens it may be because what majority wants and stays among contenders.

WWE is slowly but surely improving its main roster PPV's which is a brilliant sign to see! This is a huge step in the right direction for the main roster and it's proving to create higher quality matches!
