Def(t)ective Diwakara played by Rishab Shetty is an aspiring detective who likes to read & watch crime fiction books & movies. He is pestered by his father to become a policeman and eventually he becomes a police constable who does small chores for his seniors. After he successfully solves a murder case, he will be assigned the task of solving a theft case which happens in different police stations. How he solves this case is what the movie's all about! The plot is very interesting with many funny scenes and rib-tickling dialogues. The film takes you into the 80's era which is very nostalgic. Rishab & Haripriya's mesmerizing romance and the beautiful song will have you engaged. Prakash Tuminad, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty and all other actors have performed really well. The film becomes a bit slow in the 2nd half, however the climax is brilliantly shot and is quite mind boggling! Overall this movie is worth a watch!

The sequence of events keep you guessing and the pace is just enough to have a good mixture of music comedy and retro style. All actors have performed well and even the small characters leaves an impression. characters look genuine as well.Overwelming climax with the folk style backgroud score is huge highlight. It does justice to its genre and keeps the narrative simple. twists are well presented and overall a mustwatch as its rare to find this kind of combination in a movie.

sangan242419 October 2020I haven't seen any kannada movie done so well for pre-mobile phone era in recent years (others good ones that come to mind are "Ulidavaru Kandante", "Aa Dinagalu", "KGF", "Avane Srimannarayana"). Very well fleshed-out screenplay and brilliant execution of the story. This movie is more mainstream than "Ulidavaru Kandante" in terms of relationships between the the characters and how they are more relatable and entertaining.
I wish more movies from this era come our way from Kannada industry and from Rishab Shetty. At least make next one in "Bell Bottom world" and continue the adventures of Detective Divakar. Since we all know what to expect from the next movie, if it ever comes, there will be a lot movie-goers who will be ready to watch it. -
unaisbinazeez30 August 2020Seriously?? You call this a brilliant movie? Every damn thing was predictable. Cliche twist at the end. I'm writing a review for the first time. I had to!!!!! Mind-blowing twists for the dumb people. Anyone with common sense would get a clear picture of the so called twists halfway through the movie. There was no single piece of twist that was unexpected. Cliche at it's peak!!!!

shettypranay8 March 2019Went In with hell lots of expectations as it was the acting debut of the very talented director Rishab shetty. Also saw couple of reviews on IMDb which did mention that the movie was superb.
I had to call my friends and convinced them asking to join me for this movie . so finally 4 of them agreed to watch this movie with me. When we reached the cinema screen , we were the only 4 who had booked the tickets for the show . Then the movie started .
Review - Very dumb movie . Bad direction. bad screenplay , bad dubbing , director making an attempt to be a hero for no reasons, some investigation , some plot , some good actors being wasted and so on.
Hoped this would be just for sometime and the real entertaining movie would start anytime , but honestly nothing changed till the credits came . By then 2 of my pals had already slept off and I was guilty for making them waste their time and money on such a movie which had no intention to entertain cine-goers.
I might be having a different taste for movies but 4 people at the same time wouldn't be wrong for sure . So just avoid this for your good . The hero of the movie should really focus on making some great movies as he has done in the past.
