  • Seriously, I can bare this show, I think this is better than indebted, but this is not a good sitcom for me. I don't understand why Jackie always looks like she NEVER take the showers, wash her hairs, and have homeless wardrobe.
  • Jackie (Pauley Perrette) is a struggling single mom with dead beat ex Barry (Kyle Bornheimer) and young son Sammy. She is shocked when her sister Elizabeth (Natasha Leggero) reveals that her spoiled husband Javier (Jaime Camil) has been cut off by his wealthy father. They and their manservant Luis (Izzy Diaz) have to move in with her.

This start off badly. The rich couple is annoying. Jackie is a ball of bitterness and not in an adorable way. Even the kid isn't that adorable. The annoying couple really infects the rest of the show. Once the show gets past the pilot, everybody has some more depth and they become less annoying. It's a bumpy road. It doesn't get good enough before it gets canceled. 13 episodes are more than enough.

This sitcom didn't make any sense about financial situations and all that. Sorry Pauley Perrette. I know you and the rest of the cast of Broke meant well and you did try your best. It's okay.
  • Total garbage!!! CBS threw a show at Pauley Perrette to shut her up ...shows what happens when she is the head character..she cannot hack it !! A total waste of time !!

    Ugh
I don't know what's worse, this or "Indebted." They're both almost the same right down to the laugh track. How do these things get on the air?
  • Somebody call a plumber. Broke is another stinker of a sitcom that is headed for the toilet. I wasted five minutes of my time watching the pilot of this one one screaming, "Please make the canned laughter stop!" Can any person out there find just one good sitcom writer? It seems to me that these newer sitcoms are killing the comedy genre. Such a shame:-(

I think that Broke is quite fun, I'll probably tune in next week! Of course this is only the first episode so it is hard to judge, but I think that Broke is an entertaining show that many can enjoy in these trying times.
  • I watched all of 5 minutes before turning it off! Painful does not start to describe how bad those minutes were! Make you think that just about anyone can become a screen writer these days!

Ignore the naysayers, this show was great! Give it a chance, don't pigeon hole Pauley into being Abi forever.

I like the story line and the jokes are good. My 7 and 12 year old can watch it with me, but I just don't see them two being sisters. They look NOTHING alike. And I know not all siblings look alike. I guess it's also hard for me to put Pauley in this comedy role.

    Why?
How is this happening again? Yet another bad sitcom with canned laughter. Mismatched, Indebted, now this. Just horrible insults to viewers' intelligence.

Can you be classy in a rock n roll t-shirt and run down house? Yep. The pilot episode showed characters that have empathy and hilarity and smarts without the crudeness that so many sitcoms rely on these days. SO great. Hopefully the sister drops her accent. And the subtitles will take getting used to. And hopefully the writers continue to stay above the cheap gutter jokes. Loved it. Love the characters. Love the premise. Clever intelligent writing. Hope it stays around for a long time.
  • This show is definitely not great, not even that good, but to be rated 1 across the board by people that have no taste and watch and love absolute garbage... it defies understanding. Sure it's got a laugh track, so do lots of shows that should be rated one and are yet rated well by these same people. Most of the jokes are predictable - just like every attempted comedy show on now. The difference? Some of these jokes can actually make me crack a smile. There are only two reasons I can see that it engenders so much hate; 1) It makes an unabashed mockery of fake pretentious people. As so many aspire to be like those people these days, it hits far too close to home for them not to lash out. 2) What ever is going on with Pauley's mouth is either worse than before or harder to ignore as she has aged out of her Abbey cuteness.

I hold shows to a higher standard than most, and I give this a solid 5+, which far higher than I'd give most of the popular "comedy" "efforts" produced in the past decade. Honestly, if I smile ONCE, a comedy is a cut above the rest, and this show has pulled several from me over 8 episodes. Am I waiting in anticipation for the next ep? Wow no lol but will I likely get around to watching it? Probably.. I guess, not much out there to choose from
  • I get the feeling the idea for this show sounded a lot better than the actual finalized script for episode #1. The acting is horrible, the laugh track is unbearable and the idea of watching another episode is likely as this show being picked up for another season. I give it 4 episodes before it is canceled. Worse than the last season of Two Broke Girls.

    Awful
I wanted to turn it off after 5 minutes, but I didn't because I was debating whether or not I was doing that because I couldn't see Pauley Perrette as anything other than Abby.

I made it 20 minutes and then turned it off. The show was awful. It's slow and jokes are worn out. Don't waste your time.
  • A perfect example of writing for the masses...of people who have to be told what is supposed to be "funny" by the use of canned laughter. They even try to cater to the hispanics by having a third of the dialogue in Spanish, with English sub-titles. If it lasts a full season i'll be surprised. Pauley Perrette deserves so much better than this.
  • I have to say that after I watched the first 2 episodes I thought I had really just wasted an hour of my life. It's been a pleasant Surprise to check this sitcom out more recently. It was totally enjoyable. This is why networks should give new shows a better chance to acquire an audience before arbitrarily canceling them. The characters are quite likable including Jackie & sister Elizabeth and Javier & Luis as they adjust to their newly poor situation and less lavish environment.

Broken and unable to fix this comedy series, that is what Broke is. When will the writers strike ever end? It must be at least five (5) years since the writers strike first began because this type of cheap comedy just seems to keep popping up with same cheap and stale comedy shows each season. This so called comedy series is about a rich (now broke) sister and her husband who are desperate to move in with her working class sister and son because they have no other place to live. The working class sister holds down two jobs one of which she works at a tavern.

I can see where this is going and that's nowhere fast except to the proverbial "CANCELLED" series before it gets through ten (if their lucky enough) or so episodes. If I was starring in this series I would literally beg the producers to stop using that god awful canned laughter box and wait and see if the actors lines being delivered invoke any real laughs.

Broke and busted a 2 out of 10

I know it may seen more of the same, but the cast is perfect, uncle Javier is very charmin and Luis is great, give it a chance
  • I guess she's retired, but she showed the ability to do a lot with not much.

The others tended to overact, but writing was weak. Over time it may have been able to develop into a decent show.

I hoe she comes out of retirement and is given good parts to work with.

I really wanted to like this show because of Pauley Perrette but this comedy is just not funny. Better writers and better actors might make this show more watchable but I'm not sure Pauley is suited for comedy except to be quirky like her character was on NCIS. Even, with that said, she was the only one not pathetic on the first episode of Broke. But I don't think loyalty to her will salvage this mistake.
  • I like the show and the characters. I especially like the husband and the butler and the child relationships.
  • Was a big fan of the first season of Jane the Virgin and continued watching because of some of the main actors bring hilarious (Camil) so decided to watch this show. Him and the butler are great and have good chemistry, but the 2 sisters just don't work together and aren't funny. Since they are the main part of the show I'm guessing people won't watch. Also I don't mind of subtitled parts but I could see that impacting viewership. Hopefully Camil lands on something else because I really think he would be good on any number of comedy shows. Maybe on of those school shows as an outrageous teacher or something
  • This is one of the worst shows I've seen in a while. Please, please, please, cancel this show and replace it with re-runs of Young Sheldon or Mom or something else....

Unwatchable. Not funny. Poorly executed. Poorly written. Badly cast. Did I say not funny yet? Very, very bad.
