John Woo's 2000 film "Mission: Impossible 2" is handily the worst film in the "Mission: Impossible" film series. Exclusive: Paramount+ is launching a service in Turkey with beIN Media Group, bringing movies including Transformer: Rise of the Beasts and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and series The Agency, Elsbeth and the NCIS franchise.

Paramount Global Content Distribution cut the deal with beIN, which will see the rollout of what it refers to as branded destination in Turkey. Specifically, the Paramount+ service will be carried on beIN’s Ott platforms Tod and beIN Connect.

Sony has nudged the release for Tom Holland’s fourth “Spider-Man” installment by one week, shifting it from July 24, 2026 to a new date of July 31, 2026. That now positions the Marvel entry for launch two weeks after Universal’s July 17, 2026 release of “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan’s next film which also stars Holland.

Along with giving Holland some breathing room from opening two prospective blockbusters within a week of one another, the adjustment also has key repercussions for exhibitor operations. Before Sony’s scheduling change, the next live-action “Spider-Man” would have released just one week after “The Odyssey.” That film continues Nolan’s decades-long relationship with Imax, shooting with the company’s powerful cameras and negotiating a dedicated theatrical window in its premium auditoriums. Presumably, Sony is also looking to release the new “Spider-Man” to Imax and other premium large format screens, as it has with its previous Marvel Comics adaptations.

“The Wild Robot” is the only one of 30 films nominated for Academy Award honors this year to reflect the ecological crises that are bearing down on the planet. Inspired by the popular Bechdel-Wallace Test — which measures the representation of women in TV and film — the Climate Reality Check is a simple tool designed to measure climate change on screen. It’s a straightforward two-part evaluation that asks whether, one, climate change exists in a project, and two, if a character knows it.

Story consultancy Good Energy applied the test to this year’s Oscar nominees; 30 fictional feature-length films were nominated for the 2025 Academy Awards, and 11 of the 30 films met the Climate Reality Check’s eligibility requirements of one, being set on Earth and two, taking place now, in the recent past or in the near future. Exclusive: Premiere Entertainment Group has acquired international rights to the Shea Whigham (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) and Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age) crime thriller Lake George.

Premiere will launch international sales this week at the European Film Market.

The neo-noir road movie follows an ex-con who is coerced by mobsters into executing a hit on a woman, but instead, the two misfits hatch a plan to steal money from the people who want her dead. Max Casella and Glenn Fleshler round out the lead cast.

Jeffrey Reiner directed the film from his original screenplay. Reiner also produced alongside Joey Oglesby, Cleta Ellington, and Bernie Stern. Michael Hillman and Brent Wilson served as executive producers.

Tom Cruise gave a huge treat to his fans at the Super Bowl by unveiling the teaser for his upcoming 2025 action spy flick Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The film marks the sequel to the 2023 film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1. The 30 seconds teaser sees Cruise as Hunt performing some high-octane stunts which will leave you wanting for more.

It’s been a turbulent flight getting here, but we’ve finally got the trailer for “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” (fka “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two” and colloquially known as “Mission: Impossible 8”). Thank goodness Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) can still sprint.

In “M:i 8,” Hunt needs his team to trust him “one last time.“

In the trailer, which is shown in ultra wide format, we see Hunt — as one has come to expect — running very fast. It also features footage of the sunken submarine that kicks off the events of “Mission Impossible — Dead Reckoning,” as well as a callback to the first film that even many who haven’t seen it are more than likely familiar with. As previously teased, the big stunt for this entry will involve Cruise hanging outside of a functioning 1930s biplane, shots of which are also seen in the teaser.

“Mission: Impossible” star Tom Cruise pumped up the Super Bowl crowd during Fox’s Super Bowl pregame show on Sunday ahead of the showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Tonight in New Orleans we encounter a mission that doesn’t come along very often. Standing in front of this final act knowing that the long winding road here has all led to this. Everything this sport has seen and done, every first, every mountain climbed, every seemingly impossible conquered, yet there’s always another accomplishment never achieved. There’s always new heights waiting to be reached,” he said in the ad. “I look closely at these fierce competitors and I don’t see fear or hesitation, I see the very best in the world. "Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning" was a bit of a disappointment. As Chris Evangelista put it in his /Film review, the film felt like it was "cobbled together in between big set pieces." Its biggest sin (other than killing off a certain fan-favorite character) was making the story come across as barely stitched together between set pieces, which is never a good sign.

Now, whether it is the actual final film in the franchise or not, "Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning" is at the very least a movie with higher stakes than any "Mission: Impossible" movie before it. In case you need a reminder, "Dead Reckoning" ended on a big cliffhanger. The human villain Gabriel (Esai Morales) got away, leaving Ethan Hunt and his team scrambling and on a race against the clock to find a sunken submarine and use a mysterious and convoluted key to stop the evil A.

Case in point? The Halo jump in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Most actors would call it a day after one successful freefall from 25,000 feet. Cruise? He demanded 100 takes to get it just right.

The man is allergic to green screens. He won’t fake it when he can throw himself into thin air instead. This time, it was a high-altitude, low-opening jump that required months of prep. Custom helmets. Specialized lighting. A crew that probably wondered if they should’ve taken a Fast & Furious gig instead. Even Henry Cavill—Superman himself—was not allowed to try it. That’s how risky it was.

Ethan Hunt has been saving the world for nearly thirty years, but will Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning be his last mission? There have been rumblings that Tom Cruise may call it quits with The Final Reckoning, but if that’s the case, neither he nor director Christopher McQuarrie are prepared to confirm it… yet.

“You gotta see the movie,” Cruise told Empire when they tried to get an answer out of him. “It’s a hard thing for me to discuss at the moment, because it really is something that you have to experience.” The actor added that The Final Reckoning will be “an epic, emotional journey of the entire franchise.“

McQuarrie also wasn’t willing to confirm anything but did say that the film will be “the satisfying conclusion to a 30-year story arc. I’m pretty confident that people are going to feel that the title was appropriate.

Tom Cruise once again showed off his impressive stunt skills in some newly released behind-the-scenes footage of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.”

In the clip he shared to X on Friday, the 62-year-old actor can be seen hanging from a plane that’s flying upside-down.

When Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One opened in 2023, it was widely considered a financial disappointment, even with a worldwide box office haul of $570.6 million (the biggest issue was that it greatly underperformed domestically).

Not helping matters, of course, was the fact its budget ballooned to a reported $291 million, a staggering sum thought to have done irreparable damage to Tom Cruise's relationship with Paramount Pictures.

The studio dropped the "Dead Reckoning Part Two" subtitle from the sequel a while ago and has instead decided to market the movie as Ethan Hunt's final adventure. Hence, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
