There’s no stopping Pedro Pascal from dominating the entertainment industry as the famed Internet daddy-slash-superstar gets booked with numerous projects from this year all the way to 2027. It’s not surprising anymore given how successful his career has been over the past few years, but it’s incredible to see how well he’s maintained the momentum, especially in a crazy world like Hollywood.

It’s safe to assume he’s slowly surpassing some of the veteran A-listers in the acting world, such as Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., and Will Smith. While they are still active and working on a couple of projects, they no longer have that buzz on social media unlike before.

It was for Francis Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders. Keep scrolling for the deets.
Some of the dangerous stunts performed by the Hollywood star include climbing the Burj Khalifa, hanging from the side of an Airbus A400M, performing a high-altitude, low-opening jump, motorcycle chase without a helmet, helicopter chase, and much more. We have yet another update on the very active love life of Mr. Tom Cruise.
Last we checked in on the Mission: Impossible star, Cruise was (reportedly) dating Monica Barbaro.
Monica is a big deal these days, having earned an Oscar nomination for her work in A Complete Unknown.
But despite rumors of his romance with Barbaro, Cruise might be hooking up with an even bigger star at the moment. Sources allege that he’s been spending a lot of time with none other than Ana de Armas.

The sci-fi thriller The Assessment, starring Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision), and Himesh Patel (Station Eleven), had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, and is now heading for a March 21st theatrical release, courtesy of Magnolia Pictures. With that date just a week away, a poster for the film has been unveiled and can be seen at the bottom of this article.
The feature directorial debut of music video director Fleur Fortuné, who was working from a screenplay by John Donnelly and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas, The Assessment centers on Mia (Olsen) and Aaryan (Patel), a successful couple who hope to become parents in a near future where resources are extremely limited and the government keeps firm control over reproduction. In looking to do so, the pair are assigned an assessor named Virginia (Vikander), who moves into their home for seven days to...

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is easily one of the most anticipated films of 2026, and just like with all the Academy Award-winning director's films, he has assembled an all-star cast, and now some key roles might be revealed. Nolan's follow-up to Oppenheimer, the Academy Award winner for Best Picture in 2023 and a film that grossed $975 million worldwide, is none other than The Odyssey.
The Odyssey, along with The Illiad, is one of the two great epic poems written by Homer and one of the world's most iconic pieces of literature. Christopher Nolan has now set out to give the epic tale a definitive film version like no other.
Discussing Film is reporting that Greek media outlets are reporting some of the roles of the actors in The Odyssey. Matt Damon is, of course, playing Odysseus, and Anne Hathaway will reportedly play Odysseus' wife, Penelope. Tom Holland is Odysseus and Penelope's adult son,...

For decades, Tom Cruise has been the ultimate Hollywood daredevil—jumping off cliffs in Mission: Impossible and pulling off jaw-dropping stunts at the box office. Well, this seems to be the reason why studios have been vying for his attention like fans at red-carpet events. Take for example when Warner Bros. went out of their way to thank Cruise, even when he vowed his loyalty to Paramount.

Now surprisingly, that gratitude call quickly turned into a secret meeting, which led to a shiny new deal. Meanwhile, Paramount, his longtime Hollywood home, wasn’t in the loop of that meeting where Tom Cruise turned Warner Bros. into his new (non-exclusive) playground. But here’s the twist—he’s not ditching Paramount just yet. Talk about Mission: Diplomatic!

It has only been a few weeks since Amazon announced it had acquired full creative control of the James Bond franchise, but the rumor mill has been running nonstop ever since. The internet has been alight with speculation about which actor will take over for Daniel Craig as 007. While Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is fielding suggestions for the next Bond, though, the franchise’s future star is not the only role that needs to be filled for it to officially move forward.
Amazon also has to choose a director to helm its next Bond movie. The franchise’s previous directors include Sam Mendes, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Martin Campbell, Terence Young and Lewis Gilbert. Here are five filmmakers who could potentially join that list, and sooner rather than later.

The Spanish crime drama follows a Civil Guard sergeant and a U.S. Army agent as they uncover dark secrets in a small town.
Time to head to Spain - at least on screen. “When No One Sees Us” is Max’s first-ever Spanish-language original, and it’s diving straight into a world of crime, corruption, and long-buried secrets. Set during Holy Week in Morón de la Frontera, the show follows a Civil Guard sergeant and a U.S. Army special agent as they investigate two separate cases - only to realize they’re tangled in the same dangerous web. With Maribel Verdú (“The Flash”) and Mariela Garriga (“Mission: Impossible 7”) leading the cast, plus an early film festival debut that turned heads, this one’s got all the makings of a must-watch thriller. “When No One Sees Us” premieres Friday, March 7, on Max, with new episodes dropping weekly.

“I have substance issues — primarily with cocaine. It’s hard to say out loud,” Jax confessed. “I’ve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I’m 45. There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I’d go heavy on it.”
Brittany Cartwright filed to divorce Taylor last August.
Around this same time, Taylor checked into a facility to deal with mental health issues.

After grossing $729 million at the worldwide box office, Wicked became the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation of all time. The sequel was shot back-to-back with the first half of this iconic story, meaning fans won't have long to wait before Wicked: For Good swoops into theaters this November.
That's likely to be an even bigger hit - $1 billion seems likely - and there are already rumblings on social media about Universal Pictures plotting various spin-offs and expansions of the musical.
Snippets of footage from Wicked: For Good were included in Wicked's special features when the movie hit Digital platforms. As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, we now have some posters and promotional shots of both Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba and Ariana Grande's Glinda.

We also have confirmation that Franklin Richards will appear in the movie, and one animated clip shows the lad in a Spider-Man onesie using his powers.

John Woo's 2000 film "Mission: Impossible 2" is handily the worst film in the "Mission: Impossible" film series. Its drama is turgid and unconvincing, the romance between Tom Cruise and Thandiwe Newton is only briefly convincing, and the villain, played by Dougray Scott, is generic to the point of being noncorporeal. Woo's ordinarily vivacious and balletic gun violence is supplanted by instantly-dated, "You Wouldn't Steal a Handbag"-style hyper-edited violence, something that feels like a remnant of a now-forgotten era of MTV. The film tried to turn Ethan Hunt from a steely company man into a flippant, sexy, American James Bond. It didn't really work.
The most memorable part of the movie is, like in most of the "Mission: Impossible" movies, the stunts that Cruise performed himself. Woo's film opens with super-spy Ethan Hunt (Cruise) enjoying a rare vacation by himself. He is seen rock climbing on the various rock...

Denis Villeneuve recently revealed that he does not intend on helming a different film first, and his adaptation of Dune: Messiah (though the movie will likely end up being titled Dune: Part 3) will be his next project. Production is expected to get underway later this year, and we now have word on the return of a certain character from the first movie.
Though this won't come as a surprise to anyone who has read Frank Herbert's seminal sci-fi saga, here's your Spoiler warning just in case.

Sony has nudged the release for Tom Holland’s fourth “Spider-Man” installment by one week, shifting it from July 24, 2026 to a new date of July 31, 2026. That now positions the Marvel entry for launch two weeks after Universal’s July 17, 2026 release of “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan’s next film which also stars Holland.
Along with giving Holland some breathing room from opening two prospective blockbusters within a week of one another, the adjustment also has key repercussions for exhibitor operations. Before Sony’s scheduling change, the next live-action “Spider-Man” would have released just one week after “The Odyssey.” That film continues Nolan’s decades-long relationship with Imax, shooting with the company’s powerful cameras and negotiating a dedicated theatrical window in its premium auditoriums. Presumably, Sony is also looking to release the new “Spider-Man” to Imax and other premium large format screens, as it has with its previous Marvel Comics adaptations.

‘The Wild Robot’ Is 2024’s Only Oscar-Nominated Film to Pass the ‘Climate Change Reality Check’ Test

“The Wild Robot” is the only one of 30 films nominated for Academy Award honors this year to reflect the ecological crises that are bearing down on the planet. That’s the conclusion of a study by the nonprofit environmental consulting firm Good Energy that examines how contemporary films represent climate change.
Good Energy has developed a “Climate Change Reality Check” scoring system for movies set in modern times. It was inspired by the famed Bechdel-Wallace Test for evaluating the depth of female representation in film and TV. Good Energy’s version assesses new scripted movies and TV shows for two key criteria: Does the story reflect the fact that climate change exists, and is there at least one character that is aware of climate change. The test was created by Good Energy and Matthew Schneider-Mayerson, associate professor of English and Environmental Studies at Rice University.

The second annual Climate Reality Check report was released on Thursday, measuring climate visibility in this year’s eligible Academy Award-nominated films.
Inspired by the popular Bechdel-Wallace Test — which measures the representation of women in TV and film — the Climate Reality Check is a simple tool designed to measure climate change on screen. It’s a straightforward two-part evaluation that asks whether, one, climate change exists in a project, and two, if a character knows it.
Story consultancy Good Energy applied the test to this year’s Oscar nominees; 30 fictional feature-length films were nominated for the 2025 Academy Awards, and 11 of the 30 films met the Climate Reality Check’s eligibility requirements of one, being set on Earth and two, taking place now, in the recent past or in the near future. Of those 11 films, only one passed: The Wild Robot.

These films are quite gruelling to make… If you’re going to hang from a crane in front of a green screen for six months, pay me. You don’t want to pay me,...

Jurassic World Rebirth Director Gareth Edwards Rumored To Be On WB's Radar To Helm Fourth Dune Movie

Dune and Dune: Part Two director Denis Villeneuve has stated that he has no intention of helming any more movies in the franchise after his planned Dune: Messiah adaptation, but that doesn't mean Warner Bros. will stop after three!
According to scooper Daniel Richtman, the studio is planning to move forward with at least one more Dune movie, and they might be looking at Gareth Edwards to take the helm.
The scooper believes that there's interest in Edwards - who also has Jurassic World Rebirth coming out later this year - stepping in to direct, but isn't sure if he's actually in talks.
The first two movies were big successes, but a fourth chapter would still be somewhat surprising given the direction Frank Herbert's saga goes in after the second book. Villeneuve has shown little interest in adapting the later novels, Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune,...

Ethan Hunt's final quest to save the world could begin in France. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is considering a major theatrical debut at the world-renowned film festival, Cannes. After a disappointing box office run by its predecessor, Dead Reckoning, the studio is looking into boosting the momentum for the upcoming sequel before it bows out in theaters in late May this year. It's a jam-packed movie summer, so it seems The Final Reckoning may make its theatrical debut earlier than its official release date.
According to Variety, Paramount is considering premiering the eighth (and possibly final) Mission: Impossible film during the Cannes Film Festival. The event, being held in the back half of May, could serve as the film's official worldwide premiere date if the studio and, presumably, Tom Cruise, decide to go in that direction. If the upcoming sequel is actually the final installment for all parties,...

Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise have made it their mission to deliver the best thrill rides in cinema with the Mission: Impossible franchise. However, 2023’s Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning proved to be a disappointment in many ways despite delivering what any other franchise would consider a reasonable box office result. As the pair prepare to bring Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning to cinemas this summer, the filmmaker has addressed the lackluster response to its predecessor – something which led to a complete overhaul of the new movie.
Dead Reckoning was released after a long production that was hindered by many issues, including the fallout of the Covid pandemic, which saw its budget soar to over $300 million, making it unlikely to pull in a huge profit. Thrown up against several other blockbuster movies, the action thriller was able to hold its own well enough to not be a complete flop, but...

The director of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Christopher McQuarrie, has opened up about the film’s underwhelming box office results. Despite strong reviews from critics, the seventh installment in the popular action franchise did not perform as well as expected.
Released in the summer of 2023, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning saw Tom Cruise return as Ethan Hunt, facing off against a powerful AI called the Entity and its human ally, Gabriel (played by Esai Morales). Although the movie received praise for its intense action and gripping story, it struggled financially.
With an estimated budget of $291 million—partly inflated due to Covid-related costs—the film managed to earn $571 million worldwide. While this may seem like a big number, it fell short of expectations, especially given the franchise’s history of success.
In a recent interview with Empire, McQuarrie did not shy away from the film’s mixed audience reception. He...

Miles Teller is doing the press rounds to promote his new genre-mashup, The Gorge, and with the first trailer for Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four: First Steps hitting last week, questions inevitably turned to the actor's role as Reed Richards in 20th Century Fox's Fant4stic.
Josh Trank's Ff movie was a notorious bomb, and not something the director or cast have been particularly enthusiastic to discuss over the years.
As you might expect, Teller wasn't too eager to talk about his brief tenure as Mr. Fantastic while chatting to THR, but he did reveal that he watched the trailer for the MCU reboot, and is excited to see the movie later this year.
“I don’t wish anybody to be a part of a bomb … I just wish them the best," Teller said. "I saw the little trailer and I thought it looked fantastic, I’m very excited for them.

Right after graduating from school, the average Indian youth probably used their recently attained freedom to watch A-rated films by going for Delhi Belly. It seemed like the dawn of a new era of Bollywood, where directors, writers, and actors would come together to tell gritty black comedies with relatable characters and slyly comment on the state of the country and its people. Since the Cbfc (popularly known as the Censor Board) came down heavily on the aforementioned movie and Udta Punjab for “polluting the minds of the Indian public,” said era came to an abrupt end. However, the subgenre—where unlucky or relatively innocent people accidentally find themselves in the middle of a giant mess—hasn’t completely run out of steam. In 2020, we got the hilarious Lootcase. 2 years later, Govinda Naam Mera was released. Then in 2024, there was Madgaon Express. And now, joining this list of amusing films,...

Monica Barbaro just received her first Oscar nomination for her work in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. But that’s not the first time the actress has made headlines in recent months.
As we previously reported, Monica appears to have some sort of relationship with Tom Cruise. But the exact nature of their bond remains unclear.
It feels a bit like being on a roller coaster when talking about the women in Tom’s life — even if you don’t take into account the ex-wife who constantly shades him and the daughter who curses his name.

You can depend on a few things happening during the Super Bowl – two titans of football colliding (in this case the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles), commercials featuring big-time movie stars and, of course, movie trailers for some of the year’s most highly anticipated titles.
And this year, Super Bowl Lix was no different.
If you’re looking for all of the Super Bowl trailers in one place, we’ve got you covered, with an updated list below.
“Jurassic World Rebirth”
Sure, a new “Jurassic World Rebirth” spot aired before kick-off, but we aren’t holding that against them. This new “Jurassic World” installment, the first since 2022’s “Jurassic World Dominion” closed off that trilogy, features Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey and Rupert Friend. But we’re really pumped that this installment is bringing back writer David Koepp, who adapted Michael Crichton’s novel for Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park,...

It’s been a turbulent flight getting here, but we’ve finally got the trailer for “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” (fka “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two” and colloquially known as “Mission: Impossible 8”). Thank goodness Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) can still sprint.
In “M:i 8,” Hunt needs his team to trust him “one last time.“
In the trailer, which is shown in ultra wide format, we see Hunt — as one has come to expect — running very fast. It also features footage of the sunken submarine that kicks off the events of “Mission Impossible — Dead Reckoning,” as well as a callback to the first film that even many who haven’t seen it are more than likely familiar with. As previously teased, the big stunt for this entry will involve Cruise hanging outside of a functioning 1930s biplane, shots of which are also seen in the teaser.

"Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning" was a bit of a disappointment. As Chris Evangelista put it in his /Film review, the film felt like it was "cobbled together in between big set pieces." Its biggest sin (other than killing off a certain fan-favorite character) was making the story come across as barely stitched together between set pieces, which is never a good sign.
Now, whether it is the actual final film in the franchise or not, "Mission: Impossible -- The Final Reckoning" is at the very least a movie with higher stakes than any "Mission: Impossible" movie before it. In case you need a reminder, "Dead Reckoning" ended on a big cliffhanger. The human villain Gabriel (Esai Morales) got away, leaving Ethan Hunt and his team scrambling and on a race against the clock to find a sunken submarine and use a mysterious and convoluted key to stop the evil A.

Does Tom Cruise make his Mission: Impossible crew overwork? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Case in point? The Halo jump in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Most actors would call it a day after one successful freefall from 25,000 feet. Cruise? He demanded 100 takes to get it just right.
The man is allergic to green screens. He won’t fake it when he can throw himself into thin air instead. This time, it was a high-altitude, low-opening jump that required months of prep. Custom helmets. Specialized lighting. A crew that probably wondered if they should’ve taken a Fast & Furious gig instead. Even Henry Cavill—Superman himself—was not allowed to try it. That’s how risky it was.
Director Christopher McQuarrie summed it up best: “This is, far and away, the most dangerous thing we’ve ever attempted.” And still, Tom Cruise kept jumping. If the wind was off? Jump again. Helmet light flickered?...

Ethan Hunt has been saving the world for nearly thirty years, but will Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning be his last mission? There have been rumblings that Tom Cruise may call it quits with The Final Reckoning, but if that’s the case, neither he nor director Christopher McQuarrie are prepared to confirm it… yet.
“You gotta see the movie,” Cruise told Empire when they tried to get an answer out of him. “It’s a hard thing for me to discuss at the moment, because it really is something that you have to experience.” The actor added that The Final Reckoning will be “an epic, emotional journey of the entire franchise.“
McQuarrie also wasn’t willing to confirm anything but did say that the film will be “the satisfying conclusion to a 30-year story arc. I’m pretty confident that people are going to feel that the title was appropriate.

Tom Cruise has opened up about just how dangerous the stunts for Mission: Impossible have become, even as it has been revealed one such stunt in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoningtakes place on a 1930s biplane 10,000 feet in the air. Will this year’s eighth Mission: Impossible movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, actually live up to its title and be the final outing in the iconic action franchise? While the recent trailer for the movie certainly hinted that this is the case, with the footage teasing all manner of Easter eggs and finding Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt asking his team to trust him "one last time," it has not been confirmed that this will indeed be the last hurrah for Hunt. Now, director Christopher McQuarrie has chimed in... and suggests that, yes, this is the end of the line.
Speaking with Empire, McQuarrie called Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning the “conclusion” to Ethan Hunt’s arc. Which first began in Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible way, way back in 1996.

“It is, I hope, the satisfying conclusion to a 30-year story arc. I’m pretty confident that...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps IMAX Trailer May Confirm A Major Sue Storm Rumor - Possible Spoilers

The first trailer for Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released earlier this week, and an IMAX version of the teaser has now been shared online.
Though the trailer doesn't feature any new footage, the expanded aspect ratio does allow us to see a little more of what's going on in the far corners of the screen, and something else happening in the shot of Johnny Storm taking flight as the Human Torch caught one fan's eye.
Possible spoilers follow.
As Johnny "flames-on," you'll notice Reed Richards helping his wife, Sue Storm, back inside. Sue is hunched over and appears to be clutching her stomach, possibly confirming the persistent rumor that she will be pregnant at the start of the movie.
Before the reboot entered production, we heard that Sue would be pregnant when we first meet her, later giving birth to Franklin Richards in space. The child...

Atonement director Joe Wright is said to have signed up for Alignment, an AI thriller whose script was purchased for $3m last year.
Writers and filmmakers often talk about the death of the spec script market. But last year, first-time screenwriter Natan Dolan, despite limited Hollywood connections, managed to sell his AI thriller script, Alignment, for a reported $3m.
Months after that acquisition, production company Fifth Season – also behind Film Stories TV favourite, Severance – has found a director. According to Deadline, Joe Wright, perhaps best known for such movies as Atonement and Pride And Prejudice, has taken on the job, which has attracted a great deal of interest from some major names, including Damien Chazelle and Matt Damon.
Fifth Season is evidently keen to get the project going thanks to its topical subject matter. It follows Peter, 29 year-old engineer at an OpenAI-like tech company whose latest product, Lambda-4, has quietly...

Mission: Impossible has without a doubt been the most consistent and progressively improving action franchise of the 21st century, and maybe of all time. The iconic Brain De Palma remake of the 1966 TV series Mission: Impossible was met positively in 1996 and highlighted Tom Cruise in an action role he was fit for. Audiences couldn't have possibly known that the film would spawn multiple sequels and essentially become the American 007. Since 1996, there has been a change in directors, format and style for the series that has turned it into a top-tier quality franchise that has only gotten better with each sequel. It is very rare for an action series to top itself with each new entry. Only a few have accomplished this, and Mission: Impossible is definitely one of them. Interestingly enough, Mission: Impossible arguably didn't even find its true footing until Brad Bird's epic entry, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol,...

Tom Cruise has risked life and limb to entertain us for decades. He has scrambled up the side of the Burj Khalifa, driven a motorcycle off a cliff, and flown fighter jets. However, the upcoming Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning sounds like it will feature stunts that even put Cruise to the test.
One of the stunts in The Final Reckoning finds Cruise clinging to the wing of a biplane as it zips through the air at 10,000 feet, and the actor told Empire that it actually caused him to pass out on several occasions. “When you stick your face out, going over 120 to 130 miles an hour, you’re not getting oxygen,” Cruise said. “So I had to train myself how to breathe. There were times I would pass out physically; I was unable to get back into the cockpit.” That sounds terrifying.
Director Christopher McQuarrie added, “There are stunts in...

When Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One opened in 2023, it was widely considered a financial disappointment, even with a worldwide box office haul of $570.6 million (the biggest issue was that it greatly underperformed domestically).
Not helping matters, of course, was the fact its budget ballooned to a reported $291 million, a staggering sum thought to have done irreparable damage to Tom Cruise's relationship with Paramount Pictures.
The studio dropped the "Dead Reckoning Part Two" subtitle from the sequel a while ago and has instead decided to market the movie as Ethan Hunt's final adventure. Hence, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
Rumour has it Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning's budget has rocketed to $400 million amid various production delays, largely caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Thanks to Empire (via ActioNewz.com), we know where at least some of that money went: more insane stunts!

'You Gotta See the Movie': Tom Cruise Addresses if Mission: Impossible 8 Will Conclude the Franchise

The film series Mission: Impossible started almost three decades ago, with Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt managing, in fact, to complete all the missions, as impossible as they were. As the final entry is nearing its release ending, there is also the question whether this will be Hunt's final mission.
So far, Tom Cruise has defied gravity in all kinds of scenarios throughout seven films. Following the release of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, it was revealed that the new entry would not follow the same pattern and just add "Part Two" to the subtitle, and was renamed Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. As this gives the film series an air of finality, Tom Cruise played coy during an interview with Empire when asked whether the upcoming film will wrap up the series.
