  • One of the newest anime ideas.. I wish it will keep this shining far as it can I Like it a lot
  • Dr. Stone is a post-apocalyptic anime that has so much detail put into everything. The show seems like it itself is a scientific process as there are no plot holes whatsoever that I came across. The Story is incredibly interesting and philosophical at times. The characters are all incredibly well written and all have their own motives that you care about. The Villain is one of the most interesting villains I've seen in anime. His motives are as clear as day, he makes his motive blunt and known to everybody, this becomes the wedge between the Main Protagonist and the Villain and causes an extremely interesting plot to be put into motion. Technical Aspects, like Music and Animation, are all stellar. I especially loved the visuals of scientific information that they convey in an often comedic way. The Comedy in this show is very good in general as well. Dr. Stone is an anime that I'm excited to see more of in the future.
  • I went into Dr. Stone with no hopes at all and im VERY impressed!

I was reluctant to see Dr. Stone, because the ads didn't seem to be that interesting.

I gave it a chance a few weeks ago and I immediately fell in love with this anime. It is a rare combination of fun, culture, education with beautiful animation style. Showed it to a few friends who told me they learned things in this anime they didn't in school. I find it amazing that an anime can perform a good mix of science with emotion showing what we take for granted in our society, but involved centuries of work and perfecting.
  • It is rare nowadays to find animations that offer you pleasure and culture. A wonderful combination of science and fiction. Very promising beginning.

This show really changed my opinion on science. I never really thought about the progress of humanity till now. It was really inspiring watching Senku using his science. This is probably one of the best story anime's ever would definitely recommend.

This is one of those shows where the individual parts when looked at separately do not seem to add together to be anything special. but you put all the little pieces together you somehow end up with something super fun, easy-to-watch, oddly wholesome and very enjoyable. And with that I give you Dr. Stone.
  • I really love the first episode of dr.stone and and I think Dr stone will become the one of the best known anime and manga

I really love the anime style of doctor stone and character looks
  • First episode 10/10!

Stop reading reviews and go watch it. You won't regret it.

After watching the show I gave it an eight however after a while of thinking about the display I realized how difficult and how it made no sense what so ever.

My main issues with the anime were how during season 1 they by no means explained or determined out why "all" humanity turned into made into stone or how they even survived inside the stone. If their brains have been functioning for 300,000 years, wouldn't their bodies still function as well and wouldn't they die of starvation or of dehydration? None of this was explained and it genuinely made me so confused. Within the beginning of the series, all they do is the question of how they become into stone, however after watching all of season 1, there are so many questions left unanswered.

Another issue I had was how the audience and viewers barely saw the villain and the side characters from the starting in season 1. We started out with these characters but later on, they are forgotten until they are re-seen at the end of the anime.

I also found the villains motive extremely dumb, the guy wants the old/powerful to die but throughout the show we just see him become powerful and he attempts to make everyone else weak. I failed to apprehend why the show's writers and director choose the villain to be like this.

in the end, one of the biggest issues within the anime was how if the astronauts came to earth and later had children. Wouldn't all of the assets and technology still be there? Couldn't these children use technology and resources to their advantage, so THEY could possibly fix humanity instead of Senkuu? If the children have been there and had given birth to more young generations, then they could have fixed humanity so why AFTER 300,000 years are there ONLY 60 people all living in a village, rather wouldn't there be 100,000 human beings living in hotels and homes, due to the fact that they still had homes in that time period? Imagine if the show was about the astronaut's story and the 4 children remaking earth using all the tech they had while suffering since they were so alone. I mean after 300,000 years you would think that there could be more people on the earth. however nooooo. You would assume that an anime primarily based on the power of science would explain all this however they never do. Once season 2 comes out they have a lot of explaining to do.

***spoilers*** This plot feels like a learning tool for a YA interested in science. That isn't a bad thing but there are glaring holes in the plot. A nation of ppl born off of 6 astronauts only understand hunter and gatherer traits 3000+ years in?? Wtfff the physical world still exists around you... maybe this was a choice and will be uncovered later (16 eps in). Why would they stay on an island for 3000 years? The characters have no depth at all, 1 is science god the other is athlete the other is science god if he was early man.. if you love the science more than the entertainment this is for you.. that being said the artwork is good and they do do some fun things with it. I just wish the 6 main astronauts didn't just decide to live on a secluded island close to japan instead of hmmm... a museum or literally anywhere else
  • Its already a first episode and its soo much fun and heart!! Two buddies try to save the humanity!! Simply the best anime ever!! Worth watching!!! 10 out of 10!!

Must watch for all anime fans who love a little depth in the stories.

This review is for those who watched the first episode and are about to drop it.

Are the petrification and the revival of it just some mumbo jumbo bs? The protagonists feel a-typical? You wanna drop it because it feels stupid? Don't!

Yes in the first episode lacks most explanations and you probably won't get any for that, but apart from this most is scientifically more accurate than anything you see (well except docus and such). They actually warn you in some cases with "do not try this at home". I'm always up to date with the manga and the anime rly tried their best to match its brilliance. The story is good to and you rly have to sit through 4 episodes. The first three are a setup for your classic good vs bad establishment. I rly wished they would have kept it shorter but it is what it is.

The show is really good and Intelligent. It's a new take on post-apocalyptic animes. The main character Senku is really fun to watch. The show obviously have some plot holes but overlooking them this show is really awesome and funny. I'm a ten billion percent sure that if you watch it you will like it.
  • Great Anime, very educational too, but also really interesting and cool!
  • Warning: Spoilers
In a world where civilization has to start from scratch, this anime shows you step by step how you can advance millions of years of scientific advance using the natural resources available. Take note and learn to create necessary and essential elements, tools, weapons, medicine and all the means to form a scientific society.
  • The good: It teaches a lot of scientific material in a mostly realistic world.

The bad: It teaches a lot of scientific material in a mostly realistic world.

Oh, and it gets pretty childish in spots.

If I was twelve years old, I would have loved this show.

As an adult, I find that the pacing is too slow, elements too silly, and the entire conflict is a bit ill defined.

Note that I have seen this in countless stories where an anti-technology villain is needed to move the story forward, and he is also charming, intelligent, and powerful. Without modern technology, the evil 'empire' wouldn't be sustainable at what it appears to have for a population in a hunter gatherer society.

At the end of the day, the story is quickly reaching a point where they can't maintain the tension and realistic scientific principles at the same time.

Points were reduced because the initial episodes pacing was rough. The story is limited by the rules of reality. The villain is forced into the role for the sake of what little drama there is. The average adult will not be compelled by the story.

Still going to watch it with both my kids, and I will encourage them to watch it. A great show for younger viewers.
  • Senku the lead character proved me to apply Science in real life and enjoy its beauty
  • This anime has a good storyline and definitely looks promising. It isn't the best anime but definitely one worth watching if struggling to find some. It has a good lore so far and I can't judge it too much due to not all episodes being released.

Anime " Doctor Stone " is a shounen anime with a fantasy story.

The series blend nicely the shouned genre, with some science and a little of human evolution.

The art is interesting, with bold colours and harsh lines. The comedy part was also smooth and there were moments that were indeed funny, others not that much.

In addition, the characters were entertaining, some of them indeed stereotypically shounen characters, but others were more original and interesting, some othere even cute and adorable.

However, the story itself isn't that great, quite basic actually, if one takes away the turning the world into stone.
