  • Warning: Spoilers
Pati, Patni Aur Woh - Abhinav Tyagi aka Chintu (Kartik Aryan) marries Vedika Tripathi (Bhumi Pednekar) and settles down into an exciting married life and soon both get busy with their respective professional lives in Kanpur. However, the spark slowly diminishes and three years hence, Chintu falls for a temptation that dazzles and disarms him, Tapasya Singh (Ananya Pandey), who becomes a project for him. Remade from the original film by the same name (directed by the legendary B R Chopra) that released over 41 years ago, the new avatar is undoubtedly more contemporary and glamorous. With the central theme remaining rooted to an extramarital affair, director Mudassar Aziz flirts with the characters significantly by introducing several new ones with or without any objective other than prolonging the proceedings.

Comparisons with the original reveal that the characters in the new one are somewhat shallow and caricatured. Chintu is usually a bundle of nerves, mostly bumbling, unlike Sanjeev Kumar's middle aged Ranjeet Chaddha in the original who called the shots. The women in the film are more liberated and confident, in line with the times. It does manage to raise a few laughs through the length of 135 minutes, considered far too long for the story that drags after midway. Aparshakti Khurrana must be given credit for his comic timing, and for being the perfect foil to Kartik Aryan. Ananya Pandey infuses a certain freshness with her somewhat vulnerable character. I thought Bhumi Pednekar overacted in several shots or tried too hard to demonstrate superior emotive skills. Consequently, Kartik Aryan and she appear mismatched and lack the romantic chemistry that is meant to bring them back to bonding. K K Raina, Navni Parihar and Rajesh Sharma have minute roles and are largely wasted. The film could easily have been shorter by 20 minutes, making it more compelling.

    Warning: Spoilers
A movie set on the typical middle class family a small City set-up. The first half is a bit slow and patches of getting bored, 2nd half makes up for the first half is a mix of drama and comedy. Anannya Pandey has done a good job. Aparshakti Khurranna has done a splendid job great acting, wits and all.

Watch out for WOH(SUNNY SINGH) & the typical Kartik Aryan dialogue
  • The film is a modern take on the cult comedy-drama by the same name (1978).

The story of a married man, who falls for another woman, and the chaos starts that entertains.

Abhinav Tyagi aka Chintu Tyagi (Kartik), a government employee from Kanpur, is enjoying life with sensitive wife Vedika (Bhumi),, until Tapasya Singh (Ananya Pandey) walks into their life.

There are enough funny dialogues and witty one-liners to keep you hooked.

If you are looking for some good entertainment this weekend, this one could be a delightful watch.

    Music is good too..!!

-Kartik Good -Bhumi Good -Ananiya Pandey (Beeeeeauuuuuuttiful)

It started out rather slow, then things get better mid way but then the 'twist' at the was just plain stupid. it totally ruined the movie. it didn't want to be predictable but it end up been worse.

there's no music so that's a big plus (if there's I'd skip it anyway), there's comedy here and there but they weren't that hilarious and the score is a bit distracting. I like the "middle class man" monologue by the main character as well.
  • Enjoyable. Nothing special but worth a watch.

Kartik is quite natural and does a pretty good job. I think the role is too easy for Bhumi so knows she can do far better, but it's a commercial film so why not. Ananya is pretty poor. She has no screen presence and at times it feels like she's reading dialogues - I can't see her around for long. Aparshakti is a star and I hope to see him in more films - his comic timing is excellent.
  • This cheating concept of comedy have become old and cringy. Now it's not comedy to cheat it's rather frustrating and hurtful.
  • The story is completely predictable, actually the trailer itself is sufficient to predict the storyline. The movie is saved by the screenplay and dialogues as the dialogues are too funny and makes you laugh. Overall its a comedy entertainer which can be seen with the family.

How come these Bollywood actors getting work despite the fact they just cannot act ? Do not waste your time
  • Kartik Aryan does an amazing job yet again...proves himself to be the next Akshay Kumar having an accurate comic timing.. Bhoomi carries herself as the wife amazingly well what a fine actor she is.. The surprise package was Ananya Pandey her acting has taken a leap from Student of the Year, She looks sexy and hot as the "Woh" complimenting both Aryan and Bhoomi... Overall this film is a good family entertainer if you are looking for a good time..

Disappointing movie. Nothing much and too much of bakwaas drama. non sensical
  • Warning: Spoilers
Don't understand why people have rated this movie so low. Were you confused that you bought ticket for a comedy or a high cast thriller drama. It is not that, it's a light hearted comedy so critique the piece accordingly please. Forget about your own feelings and insecurities about relationships and just enjoy the script which has many unique comedic moments and yes a bit twist at the end which wasn't a huge climatic clincher fine but they tried. Gives you what you need for your time investment, a few laughs.

    #FinalVerdict

Pati Patni Aur Woh is a progressive joyride. At the box office, the film has all it takes to prove a success story on account of an impressive star cast, popular music and dollops of comedy.

Director Mudassar Aziz's Pati Patni Aur Woh is a recipe for a paisa vasool entertainer. The film is a humorous farce on the subject of sex. It's not the most original or charming comedy, but it does most things well and provides value for money in those two hours. In the spirit, Pati Patni Aur Woh is akin to David Dhawan movies. Mudassar Aziz attempts a comic caper that drives you nuts. His mantra is very clear: Garnish the enterprise with witty one-liners, hip-swinging music and throw logic to the winds. Comedy is a difficult emotion to capture on celluloid and to pull it off and make the moviegoer laugh non-stop for 2+ hours is even more difficult. And Pati Patni Aur Woh works mainly because the gags and punches in the enterprise are truly funny and relatable.

The film has several things going in its favour but the camaraderie the three actors share is, undoubtedly, one of the USPs of the enterprise. In a nutshell, it is a chill pill every entertainment-hungry moviegoer would like to relish. The sole idea is to entertain and the film delivers what it promises. When you saunter into the cinema hall, just don't wear your thinking caps and you'd enjoy the film from start to end.

Jasmeet K Reen's adaptation of the original script is not a copy-paste job. A lot of modifications are done keeping in mind the contemporary taste of the viewers. Although the film has its share of funny and entertaining moments, the pace is erratic. There's no denying the fact that Pati Patni Aur Woh could've been better. It suffers from a slow build-up, the pace dips at places and emotions might be a huge turn-off as they ambush the comical sequences. Also, John Stewart Eduri's background score is plain ordinary. Chirantan Das' cinematography is limited to the touristy locales of Kanpur and Lucknow. He could've captured so much more. The songs are better stand-alone, but they lose their charm in the film. Also, the placement of the songs seems forced.

Director Mudassar Aziz isn't in complete form. If only he would've picked up a riveting story to make a stronger impression. Also, the twist in the climax is badly executed. But the key asset of Pati Patni Aur Woh is Mudassar Aziz's witty dialogues. Also, the film is visually exciting. The usage of bright colours makes it look glamorous.

If the film belongs to anyone, it's Kartik Aaryan and Aparshakti Khurana. They are absolutely remarkable, proving that their timing for comic sequences is just perfect. Kartik Aaryan endears to the viewers completely. He's sure to walk away with all the glory with this performance. Aparshakti Khurana is just brilliant, bringing the house down with his performance. Bhumi Pednekar excels in a role that seems tailormade. WOW!

Ananya Panday looks the part she has been asked to portray and she looks convincing. She is sure to be noticed. Manu Rishi Chaddha and Neeraj Sood are superb as always. Sunny Singh looks dashing in a special appearance. Kriti Sanon adds to the oomph with her cameo.

All said and done, Pati Patni Aur Woh focuses on wit and humour rather than logic. With crisp editing (Ninad Khanolkar), the film is sure to regale viewers and also strike gold at the box-office. You may call it cliched or formulaic, but it works big time. Go have fun!

My wife made me watch this movie. It's one of the worst films I have ever watched. I'd rather watch my garage door go up and down for 2 hrs 38 minutes and 45 seconds.

    .
  • Good comedy and nice songs. The climax is brilliant

    Definitely a one time watch.

Pati Patni Aur Woh is the perfect entertaining film to watch in this weekend. I'm happy to see Kartik Aryan in this types of characters. But, what a done by Aparshakti Khurrana!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant performance form him as a Chintu Tyagi's friend. Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Pandey done their best performance in this movie. In the story, there was a slight decrease in the dialogues. I had the good overall experience to watch this film. You can spend money on tickets to watch this film for entertainment.
  • Seriously? This Karthik guy very openly claimed he could have done better acting in Andha Dhun than Ayushman, what a joke! This rabbit face gives same expressions in every movie, regardless of his role and I unfortunately have seen his 3 movies so far. Forget about the movie of this story, we all know it was predictable but what made it worst was his pathetic acting 🙄 cringe worthy for sure. Please don't waste your time.
  • One time watch. Whole crew worked hard and did their best. Acting was flawless. Story and screenplay was boring but within the limitations of budget and location whole crew has tried to put their best foot forward. Editors did not do their job well. Dialogues could be better too. Direction was okay.
  • This movie, literally, made me look like dumb as cattle. I wasn't even interested to watch it after seeing its cringy title. However, I went on forcing by my friend and it was sheer disappointment to waste the money on buying tickets. Movie has no plot, no sensible storyline. As a matter of fact, I didn't get any chance to watch its trailer. I would've avoided it otherwise. For one moment, it's comedy going on and immediately, it's sad and sorrow scenes the very next moment. This movie is only liked by the people who are dumb enough to love watching romantic movies after sending requests to random girls on Facebook. And people who went to watched it even after watching its trailer, hats off to them.

The plot of this movie is very general. I was a bit sleepy after watching it. I wanted to play 5 stars, but I gave 6 stars for the last part
  • A load of nonsense and migraine inducing movie. Kartik is being hyped as the next up and coming Zero and he fits the role perfectly. Both him and Ananya, hugely media built 'stars' with such unimaginable levels of low talent should be penalised for even considering themselves as actors. Sad to see talented Bhumi being a part of this drivel - though I guess money talks to all alike.

There's no way you can 'unsee' the trash here. These two leads will act a few more years, hoodwink the public rake in millions and then disappear.

  • yamahapic7 February 2020
A very good movie. it is interesting and fun also but with a good message...main artists are good performers..
  • isharma-7170411 February 2020
A perfect mix of poor storyline, acting, direction and everything else.

Bhoomi as always is overacting; Kartik is poor in expressing emotions (love) for either of the two ladies; Ananya - why is she even there? Acting - zero Looks - zero. Just another product of nepotism.
  • Rating 6 only for Bhumi Pendekar. I do not like Kartik Aryan. He does choose same type character. And recently he compared himself with Ayushmann Khurrana. He is nothing to Ayushmann Khurrana's acting level. We do not want actor like him we like Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkumar Rao, Vicky Kaushal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui type. Be versatile unless your every movie is going to get 5/6 stars. Lol
