A script with a lot of potential.

A movie that scatters dreams and hope wherever it is scarce. Not a flashy movie, but a slow and raw- paced one.

Credit to the boys who for their amazing performance.
  • Lyrical, beautifully filmed, Running Against The Wind captures the heart and satisfies the call for uplifting stories about Africa. Auteur-Director Jan Phillip Weyl's debut feature is an instant classic. Two boys from a poverty-stricken village with no prospects are drawn to the big city, where one succumbs to the easy attraction of street life and a destructive lifestyle; the other rises to the top to become an Olympic runner. Against all odds, the find each other. But is it too late?
  • It is a film who you need to see. This represents the only reasonable definition of this beautiful movie about friendship, dreams, succes, photography and precise definitions, high honest ones, of life. A great film about hidden Africa. Impressive for simplicity, cinematography and courage to propose a fair story , in its bitter basic nuances. Short, a sort of poem about options and about truths behind every form of apparences.
  • I did finish this movie, but I didn't quite like it. The screenplay is very patchy, the acting of the two main characters are rigid, the storyline is not interesting but lame. That druggie could shoot photos with a camera with broken lens and without charging it when he lived in a no-water, no electricity patched up hut? And the guy couldn't hold the camera correctly, just some weird gesture. The other guy who spent his whole life to run but gave it up to let other guy to win? He was not outstanding at all from what we saw. So there's nothing commendable or recommendable to watch this lamer. I've pathetically wasted my time to hang on to the end, but ended up with nothing rewarding.

Don't waste your time to watch this bomber.
