Statistics
(2006)

We are ALL Statistics-an Original and Compelling Visual Concept-!
I was invited to see a cast and crew screening of this film and LOVED it. It is Beautifully shot. The entire cast is Excellent. I found the direction crisp and the writing to be very strong & powerful. This film took me by surprise, very subtle in it's style in some places and then WHAM right to the heart of the films disturbing, yet enlightening premise....that we are ALL Statistics, we just don't know when or how it will happen. Once you realize this, it's like watching an accident about to happen, or not happen, you don't who it will be next, or how it will happen and you just simply can't look away. The way the filmmaker laces the characters together reminds me of the masterful Robert Altman film, Short Cuts and some of it's Rawness of American History X, yet it's even more original in it's execution of it's concept than those. The Director has a unique voice. Our lives ARE precious and this film will make you ponder that fact deeply.

Love & Basketball
(2000)

More than what you would expect, Enjoy!
I saw this movie at a film festival and was blown away. The performances were outstanding and in particular Sanaa Lathan. Omar Epps has always been great, but the discovery here is Sanaa and Gina Prince. A story well told and never a dull moment. It was pretty even in terms of whose story was more interesting. This doesn't happen too often. I'm a basketball fan too, so for me, it was a double delight. See this movie, I'm going again because I know that I will see something I missed the first time, it's that good.

Free Enterprise
(1998)

Two fans of science fiction meet there idol and find themselves in the process.
I saw this film when it was in limited release. If you are a Trek fan as I am, you will LOVE this movie, if you are looking for a good rental with all around great performances, rent this film. Shatner is hilarious and Weigel is a true find. Keep your eye out for that guy.

The Confession
(1997)

A confessor gets more than he expects and we are entertained silly.
This is a perfect short film. In just about 20 minutes, it rings so true and gets every laugh possible out of you in the process. I bought two copies from big film shorts as x-mas presents for my catholic family, they still talk about how funny it was. Enjoy!

In Quiet Night
(1998)

A thriller with a heart
This movie has the a very topical edge to it, yet it is still able to deliver on a soft spot, as a love story unfolds out of the most unlikely of events. Great cameos in this movie particularly Joe Spano and an actor named James DuMont.

Bellyfruit
(1999)

A powerful drama about the plight of teen mothers
Along the reality lines of the movie KIDS, this film has a cutting edge in terms of its subject matter and its characters. These three teens learn the hard way how to navigate their way through this modern urban chaos of drugs, violence, sex and motherhood. Incredible ensemble acting work. A must see.
