Red Planet
(2000)

It was good...
Like most people I have been waiting for this movie since the drek of Mission to Mars was released. I wasn't disappointed. I actually enjoyed Red Planet. Okay it wasn't perfect and one of the most interesting characters died shortly into the movie; but the movie was good. It was an interesting take on the first step on Mars, with great visuals and pretty good characterisations.

I recommend seeing this movie, it's fun and interesting... and best of all it isn't Mission to Mars.

Pi
(1998)

what x-files should have been
This is one of the greatest movies about paranoia ever made. If the x-files had a clue it would be pi; it doesn't so it isn't. This is a great movie, its scary and awe inspiring. It changes your view of reality. It is truly a great movie.

Urban Legends: Final Cut
(2000)

it was awful
There doesn't seem much more to say on the matter. It was actually worse then the original; I didn't think that was possible. The first point the movie went bad is the cheesy way they connected the two movies (the idiot security guard... I know I feel safe). The reasons for the killing, like in the first, was really moronic. Like another bad "horror" movie, scary movie, at times it just started to copy other more successful movies but to no avail. These moments were just as boring as they were previously. You would think that a movie that throws around so much movie making dialogue they would know how to make a movie... but evidently they just took out the dictionary and quoted.

The Cell
(2000)

I had to digest this movie...
When I finished watching this movie I was unsure how I felt about it. After sleeping on it I've come to the decision that I did like it. It wasn't a great movie, and it was visually amazing. Unfortunately there weren't enough surreal mindscapes in this movie and it did lag when they were in the real world. But overall it was enjoyable and an assault on the senses but worth the trip

Hollow Man
(2000)

It's really good eye candy...
This year's academy award for special effects, should go to this movie. The visual presentation was amazing; unfortunately the movie itself was crap. It was two hours of ego extension on both the part of Kevin Bacon and Paul Verhoeven. Mr. Verhoeven revels in the sick deeds of the Kevin Bacon character but shows the deeds like a child ripping the wings of a fly. What he shows is horrible, but he doesn't convey any sense of horror, its almost gleeful. Kevin Bacon starts out as a horrible man and becomes, well, a horrible man. There is not one redeeming factor for this character, well he is indestructible (almost). This movie was boring and pointless directed by a man who is beginning to become very decadent in his directing, but it has no point. Like a child with a new toy he does things that are unnecessary and hurtful but shows no remorse (neither do the characters). All in all this movie was a complete waste of time, two hours of some eye candy (and that ended before the first hour) unfortunately there was another one after that, and it was horrible.

Nexus 2.431
(1994)

How awful...
Where to start with this movie?? First of all it was bad as only a genre movie can be. It seemed that this movie really wanted to be Krull but didn't have the budget, or the interesting... well anything. For bad movies even this was horrible.

I should have known to be wary when the opening explosion was done twice (on screen) and both looked really bad... like someone burst a balloon and a light bulb at the same time to give it some sort of explosion look.

Everything about this movie was cheese, but in a bad way... it wasn't funny or interesting... it just seemed much longer than it's 90 minutes...

Scary Movie
(2000)

Wow...I can't believe I paid for this movie....
I can't remember seeing a movie this bad in a long time, it was worse than Battlefield Earth (which at least had the dignity of being cheese). Scary Movie was an attempt to satirize a genre that is already a joke (what was the last good horror movie you saw). Scream was a much better satire of the horror genre than Scary Movie was. While watching the movie you can almost see the script.

Actor A: (quote line from Scream) -show exact scene, make funny

The entire movie is like that, "satirising" everything from Scream to The Usual Suspects. It was a complete waste of time and was only funny on two occasions (the funniest scenes are with the Wayans brothers, everyone else was terrible). The really scary thing about this movie is that I Know What you Did Last Summer was actually a better movie (and we know how bad that was....)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
(1992)

Sure it's cheese but...
where else does Paul Rubens have such a long and drawn out death scene? It is really a very funny movie that has the blessings of not taking itself seriously at all. Unlike many bad movies this is one of the few that glories in its cheese.

The Eighteenth Angel
(1997)

It wasn't bad but....
The premise was really interesting, and it was entertaining. The ending however....it had the almost prerequisite sequel ending that most horror movies have...It was an immense drawback for the film as a whole. For a nights entertainment it was a good deal but the ending, always I come back to the ending....
