Pirates of Silicon Valley
(1999)

Perfect nostalgia
I loved this movie thoroughly. Many people may not "get" it properly due to their age, unfamiliarity with the characters, or general indifference to computers and stories involving them. For me, however, a computer enthusiast who was born in 1971, this movie is simply awesome! I was very young in those days but when I watched this movie, it totally brought me back to that time. Although I was young, I remember much of it and it felt right on. I thought this movie was well-written, well-acted, and greatly entertaining. It gave me a thrill to think of being at Apple when it started up. I also loved seeing the machinations that made Bill Gates rich and infamous. Sure they likely distorted facts and embellished things a lot, but such things are needed sometimes to make historical movies entertaining. I recommend this movie to any child of the 70's, especially if you are a computer fan. I gave it a 10!

Darkness Falls
(2003)

What the hell happened to the plot?!?
********************** SPOILERS AHEAD *************************** I hadn't heard much about this movie, just a little bit about the fact that it had to do with the Tooth Fairy being evil. I actually thought that sounded kind of cool. It might have been a good premise, but oh my gosh, how they killed it! Others have told the plot in messages on here, so I'll just mention the bad things about it. The acting was pretty bad. The main character was being hunted for all those years by the Tooth Fairy, then when the Tooth Fairy actually has a chance to slash him to bits at the end, they wind up having a titty-twister tussle in the lighthouse. Uhhhh... Is it just me or did the Tooth Fairy slaughter everyone else she came across? What the hell happened to her nails? So anyway, the Tooth Fairy and this dude who we don't care much about anyway are wrasslin' around and he punches her and we see her scarred face, then after awhile, like 5 minutes or so, she blows up, you know, because of all the light. Oddly, I didn't realize she could hang out in front of a LIGHTHOUSE LAMP for about FIVE MINUTES before dying. Makes one wonder why she avoided all those flashlights like the plague. The main thing wrong with this movie was the ending, because it was so cheesy... They built up the Tooth Fairy character as being all bad-ass through the whole movie, then he dude just kinda, uh, kills her by beating her up while standing in the light too long. It was so frigging anti-climactic. And of course, all the morons in the town who didn't believe him about the Tooth Fairy. Puh-lease. Been done to death. No suspense. No twist. No payoff per-se, just a dumb brawl in which the hero kicks ass on the supernatural shredder with his fists. It sucked pretty bad. Just my 2 cents.
