  • I think this is the most realistic movie I have ever seen. This is about the perfect little house you pass by thinking "Oh, what a nice house, lucky people." First let me give you the Burnhams, the people in that "perfect" home. Lester is 42, is about to be fired from his advertisement job, and basically wants another life. Carolyn is on the brink of a nervous breakdown, is very frigid with Lester, neat freak, and doesn't let herself get emotional. Then there's Jane. She's 17, semi-popular, a Spartanette for her school, best friends with the school tease, and basically wants another life, like her dad. Then you have the neighbors the Fitts. There's ex-Colonel Fitts, who is a basic Nazi but realises he is a homosexual, the mother is having some mental situation and oftens drifts off. Then there's Ricky Fitts. Obsessed with filming things, especially Jane. "I'm not obsessing," he tells Jane, "I'm just curious." Lester falls in love with Jane's best friend Angela. Carolyn has frequent affairs with her competing realtor "The King". Colonel suspensions Ricky is having a homosexual relationship with Lester when really he is just hooking him up with weed.

The one part of this movie that made me smile was when Angela and Jane catch Ricky filming them. "Let's put on a show for him." Angela says. So she starts dancing seductively in front of the window. But he's not even glimpsing at her. He zooms in on Jane who is sitting behind Angela, as he zooms in closely on Jane looking into a mirror, she's smiling.

I was actually kind of disappointed that Wes Bentley who played Ricky wasn't nominated for Supporing Actor. I thought the "most beautiful thing I've ever filmed" scene would be a dead ringer for a nomination. Great acting, very original, but also depressing. I give American Beauty ****½ out of ***** only because Wes wasn't nominated.
  • I think Dogma isn't that much of a satire even if Kevin Smith tried it to be. It made a lot of sense. I'm a Christian and I completely follow the main moral of the movie: "Have ideas, not beliefs." A great message another one I followed is "Don't mourn your faith, celebrate it." Not only does this movie send out a great message I found myself practically rolling on the floor. I love Kevin Smith movies, "Clerks", "Mallrats", and "Chasing Amy" were all great. I love the returning Kevin Smith movie alumnis: Jason Lee(Azrael), Brian O'Halloran(Gill Hicks the TV reporter), Scott Mosier(Smooching seaman), Ben Affleck(Bartleby, who started out in Kevin Smith movies before his claim to fame in "Good Will Hunting.") and of course the Red Bank blunt connection Jay and Silent Bob played by Jason Mewes and writer and director Kevin Smith. And a full, talented cast: Matt Damon, Linda Fiorentino(she's a slut..bonngg!), Salma Hayek, Alan Rickman, Chris Rock, and the great actor George Carlin.

Dogma is a religious comedy about 2 angels Bartleby and Loki dropped down from heaven into Milwaukee for all eternity. One day discovering a way back to heaven by basically tricking God which could cause total chaos. So the Voice of God Metaron is sent down from heaven to inform the "Last Zion" Bethany, Metaron tells her the whole story telling her that before her journey she'll the need the help of 2 prophets who are Jay and Silent Bob. Along the way the unknown black 13th Apostle Rufus helps them......it's really hard to explain off the top of my head! But I give "Dogma" 10/10!!! Snootchie Bootchies!!
  • I saw this movie for the first time about....5 years ago. I was 10 and i instantly loved it! It was funny, hip, and had a twisted plot that made it scary. You know that house down the street that everyone's afraid of? No one will go past it? Your marked heroic if you go up the driveway and run back? Well your about to see what goes on inside that house. 13-year old Pointdexter(nicknamed Fool by his sister Ruby cuz his tarot card reading) lives in the heart of the ghetto of a dirty city. His family is very poor and his mom has cancer, a small cancer that a doctor could take out in 10 seconds but they don't have the money, and to top it off they're about to be evicted for not paying there ridiculously high rent. Well Ruby's friend Leroy and his pal Spenser have a plan: To rob the rich landlord to A. get revenge and B. get rich. Little do they know that the house is maximum securitized, dozens of zombie-like teens locked in the basement and an abused girl being held prisoner. After Leroy and Spenser get killed it's up to Leroy to get the coins, save the girl, free the kids, and off the man and woman of the house. EXCELLENT MOVIE! i give it **** out of ****!!!! A+++!!!
  • This show rocks but is extremely Canadian. "Aboot", "soory", and others. But other than that this show is cool. It's "aboot" 7 kids at a rehab high school out in the wilderness. All the kids deal with depression, other resort to self-mutilation, smuggled drugs, and other harmful things. I can totally relate to "Higher Ground" because I have dealt with heavy depression many times and I never miss this show. I give Higher Ground 10/10!!!!
  • I expected Carrie 2 to be incredibly stupid but it wasn't even close to stupid. Sure the original is a classic but The Rage did a pretty good job of living up to it. Emily Bergyl did an excellent job as outcast Rachel with strange powers, Amy Irving reprising her role as Sue Snell as the guidance counselor of Rachel's high school, Jason London as Jesse, and a talented ensemble of teens. I give The Rage: Carrie 2 on a scale of 1-10, 1 being dumb, 5 being average, 10 being awesome a 8½. Oh and johnny utah ur waaayyy off with #2, Rachel was not popular and she didn't have a boyfriend, well not at first. Pay attention to the movie instead of ragging on it ok?
  • I am a typical 15-year old kid. I am easily amused and basically anything can make me laugh. I like Beavis & Butthead and The Simpsons and King of the Hill, Family Guy, Futurama, etc... But South Park goes beyond these funny cartoons. South Park takes the risk that all dirty cartoons are afraid to go. I admit South Park is a 2-dimensional paper cut-out cartoon made by obviously 2 high school social rejects but it's funny. It's better than your gay Frasier or Seinfield, actually Seinfield is hilarious but anyway parents are always saying "This show needs to be canceled, it's having a bad influence on my children." Simple solution soccer mom don't let your kids watch it. A hard solution to such a HARD problem. So if there are any parents reading this: get over it, get a life and if you don't like your kids watching it then don't let them. Problem solved.
  • I love this movie! It is awesome, it's so original and energetic and there is not one dull moment. This movie was only nominated for 1 Oscar: Best Screenplay Adaption. I think: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor(Wil Wheaton) and Best Supporting Actor(River Pheonix). Stand By Me is a drama based on a short story by Stephen King. Although there are alot of very humorous scenes(Lard Ass story, the comb, the conversations around the campfire) there is alot of depth and meaning. The moral of this movie is: You have many friends along the way but none as memorable as when you were a child. Stand By Me is about 4 boys in a small town Oregon called Castle Rock. There's sensitive Gordon, misunderstood Chris, rambunxious Teddy, and scaredy-cat Vern. On the last days of summer the 4 boys go out and search for the body of a missing kid. Along the way the discover about life and each other. There aren't enough stars to rate this movie!
  • Okay, I saw this movie when I was like 8 for the first time and I loved it. Now i'm 15 and I still love it! What's so awful about about it? It's about this 8-year old kid named Junior Healy, he's bad. After leaving his hometown with his foster father Ben Healy they move to Mortville. Junior has a little problem at school, this little girl is making his life a living hell. His father meets the school nurse Annie who is basically a fox. But she shows no interest. Then he meets rich woman Lawanda Dumore, who is also a fox but is a scary witch and hates Junior. Junior then finds out that the girl who is tormenting him is Annie's daughter. So he tries to fix them up. Along the way him and the girl, Trixie, become friends. Now theyre trying to get there parents together and get rid of Lawanda. I love this movie! I give it ***½ out of *****!!
  • I saw this movie for the first time on USA and I loved it. I rented it and I fell in love with it! I then bought it the next week!! This movie is soooo cool!! My cousin told me that when it came out in 1982 it totally shocked everybody. It wasn't planned to be such a popular film. Now it is a cult classic! And it boosted so many careers, Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Pheobe Cates, Judge Reinhold, Anthony Edwards, Eric Stoltz, Nicholas Cage, Forest Whitaker, etc.... "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" is a comedy about kids at Ridgemont High School in California in a town called Ridgemont i assume because there mall was the Ridgemont Mall. You look into the lives of lovesick Stacey Hamilton(Leigh), shy Mark Ratner(Backer), sexy Linda Barret(Cates), scalper Mike Damone(Romanus), big man on campus Brad Hamilton(Reinold), and surf bum stoner Jeff Spicoli(Penn). You go through the school year as they deal with American history, sex, drugs, and jobs. I give "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" 10 stars!! Should've won Best Picture for the 1983 Oscars!! Not really.
  • I saw this movie when it first came out expecting a wonderful psychological drama. Well it was definetly one of those! But it wasn't all that great of a movie. It was very original and had top of the line acting. BUT out of ALL the movies that came out in 99 American Beauty wasn't really that Oscar-worthy. Sorry for those who disagree but it's true to me. It wasn't no Titanic or Forrest Gump or Shakespeare In Love. On a scale 1 to 10 i'd give American Beauty a.....7.5
  • I saw this movie on TNT not to long ago. Its about a boy named Toby who has to cope with his whining, aggressive, big baby stepfather Dwight. He goes through verbal, emotional, and sometimes physical abuse by his stepfather. The movie basically teaches you to follow your dreams. I give this movie 9/10.
  • Okay I am the biggest COC fan. I love the first one and the fourth one but the rest were weak, although the fifth one was okay. the second was weak and the third one had a $3 budget. I was real excited to know that the "final" COC was coming out and Isaac was returning. I was hoping for more COC alumnis to show up like the kids that played Job and Sara, but they didn't even have the real Rachel returned. Okay, this chick is finding her birthparent who she learns was an original member of the religious cult in Nebraska led by a bunch of kids who worship some Corn god called "he who walks blah blah" you know its name. She discovers that a man named Isaac went into a coma 19 years ago almost, he recovers the day before her 19th birthday making it fall into place. Please note that the original was in 1984 and Isaac didn't go into a coma he was killed and then resurrected to kill Malachi so how could he have been knocked out for 19 years if the original was made 15 years ago. Come on! I have to admit good acting, okay script, messed up plot I give Children of the Corn 666 ** out of **** (2 out of 4 for those who can't read "star")
  • Bug Juice first came on when i was in 7th grade and I liked it a whole bunch. Then they kept on showing the same ones and as i got older they got more cornier. Although some still i enjoy even now and i'm in 9th grade. I hear there making a new season so i'm looking forward to that. But Bug Juice is about the adventured of kids at Camp Waziyatah in Maine. Grove 4 are the boys and Hill 4 are the girls in which you look into what goes on in there cabin. An okay show.
  • This movie is most awesome movie I have ever seen! When I first rented this I watched it four or five times! It's great. There's just something about it that I love. I'm not that sure.

Detroit Rock City is about 4 teens in 1978, maybe 16 or 17 years old, who are KISS freaks! They have a band called MYSTERY that play nothing but KISS songs. Hawk is the leader, Trip is stupid one, Lex is the one with stupid lines, and Jam is the sensitive one who has a psycho religious bitch. She has tried but nothing to get Jam to listen to her music, Karen Carpenter, Donny & Marie, and other pop music crap. Well after three years of hopelessness to go to KISS concerts, they finally have nothing in there way. Until Jam's mom torches them. So now they hit the road to Detroit finding some way to get tickets. Along the encounter "stellas", a hot older chick, and others.

Sure there are plenty of corny lines, "Your belt buckle may say rock 'n' roll but your breath says pepperoni baby." and many many other, most of which belong to Lex, poor guy, he has the stupid jokes. But it was still awesome. and Hawk is one lucky guy (SHANNON TWEED!! GOOD LORD!!)

I give Detroit Rock City 10 stars **********!!!!!
  • I saw this opening night with my friends. I really expected a cheap and dumb sequel. But it wasn't. Just a few things I don't understand. If Sid wants to hide from the killer, why would she choose a house in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere? Your just asking for it! Who the killer was, wasn't very original. Half-brother? Never heard that one before. But all in all a good horror flick. I give Scream 3 ****1/2 out of *****
  • I rented this movie and all I could say when the credits rolled at the end was WOW. It was unbelievable and excellent. This movie couldn't be more awesome!!! Great acting, great music, great plot. Great movie all together!

"Fame" is a musical drama about students at the New York High School for Performing Arts, later named the Fiorello LaGuardia. You look specifically into the lives of 8 students from there audition when they were 14 or 15, to there graduation when they're 18. The drama people: Ralph, Doris, and Montgomery. The dancers: Liza, Leroy, Coco, and i forgot the blond girl's name. and the musician: Bruno. From the upbeat "Hot Lunch Jam" to the rock of "Fame" to the soothing "i Sing the Body electric." where you find that they all made it. I give "Fame" 10 major stars!!!
  • I'd seen previews of this show on WB, then it came to Disney and i decided to watch it. I figured it'd be corny like most Disney shows. But it wasn't, I actually liked it. Mo is my favorite, he is sooooo funny.

Smart Guy starts off about a 10-year old genius to becomes a sophmore at Piedmont High School w/ his older brother and sister. And everything that goes on. I like it! I give Smart Guy 9/10!!
  • This is one of my favorite movies. I can relate to it! I'm not overweight, but I was an outcast when I was in middle school and I got a truckload of pranks pulled on me.

Angus is about an overweight young freshman named Angus Bethune, who is a science whiz and a great athlete, but he is constantly tormented by golden Rick Sanford, played by the great James van der Beek, since the wound. He is also in love with head cheerleader AND Rick's girlfriend Melissa Lafever. As a joke Rick and his buds rig the votes and Angus ends up being winter ball king. And from then on it is total chaos.

Angus has laughs, tears, hopes, and satisfaction when the movie ends. I give Angus 9/10.
