I was always looking for a movie like this. I felt every minute that this could my nightmare. Everything is perfect: the actors (Sam Neill my favorite actor), the direction (Why can't Carpenter always deliver this quality?), the script. A classic.

My favorite scene is the night on the highway. That creeps me out every time.

This is probably the most overrated movie of all time. I did not like this movie at all. It had absolutely boring dialogs, thin story (could have been told in one hour) and the most unrealistic special effects ever seen. I could never understand those who love this movie.

...and what is worse:they love it.I cannot understand what they like: the absolutely silly plot or the actors who can act like my grandmother (and my grandmother isn't a good actor) The makers are insulting the audience's intelligence.I feel sorry for those who watch this garbage and loose 30 minutes of they life every day.

I really wanted to like this movie.There were some scary parts, but the audience laughed during the film. Not a few people, but everybody. The biggest laugh were at the end of the movie. It ruined the feeling. Still it was way much better, than the Haunting.
