Recommended by several streaming, the show doesn't live up to the hype. The only saving grace for the show is the episodes are a blessedly short 11 minutes.
Ballyhooed as a dark fantasy, it's really just a weak pastiche of half-developed ideas. The fever dream of a storyline is weak and more apt for a single, 90-minute film. Another shortfall is the variety of plot holes such as how did the characters get from point A to point C without going through point B. And why?
The voice acting is good, with several well-known actors. Sadly, their talents seem wasted.
The musical "numbers" in every episode appear to be simply time-fillers and are not at all entertaining.
I suppose if one is a fan of the overrated, and extremely dismal Series of Unfortunate Events, Over the Garden Wall will be OK, but for me, I'll take any Studio Ghibli film.

I've been an FF fan since issue #1. I've also watched all of the other films and tv series'. Of them, this ranks as... meh.
This is the very definition of meh.
The actor are, for the most part, lesser-knowns; Mr. Jordan and Mr. Cathey notwithstanding. They do a good job with a less-than-good script and what feels like direction by committee.
Speaking of the script, it is... meh. It's just another origin story. Oh sure, they switched up the Storm family coloration, big, fat, hairy deal. It's a common trope these days. And they retconned the actual origins. But Hollywood does that a lot these days as well. There's nothing new here. The story just moves on, at a dull pace, with nothing to say except...meh.
The special effects are nice, but not fantastic. Although, I will admit the way the Four's were handled was pretty. The music/score is utterly forgettable.
This doesn't mean it's unwatchabe. Not by any stretch of the imagination. However, I wouldn't carve out a special time to watch it. Maybe instead put it on while you're doing the dishes or folding laundry. It's not mine taxing by any means. It's just... meh.

4 episodes in and I've dropped it. Other reviews pretty much sum it up. The cast simply doesn't work, there is no on-screen chemistry. Gibb's backstory has be seriously retconned that is changed to suit the current storyline. Please refer to the other reviews for further information.
The four stories so far are disjointed and not very interesting. The writers seem to be focused on being "dark and edgy", The current one involves serious sexism and harrassment in NIS the workplace. While an important subject, it's not well done and is extremely cringey.
Also, a minor quibble, Gibbs looks more like a younger Josh Brolin than Mark Harmon. Oddly enough, this is a major distraction for me. I'm shallow, sue me.
I've enjoyed most of the NCIS franchise, Sydney and the last half of Los Angeles notwithstanding. This one drops to the bottom of the list.
IMHO and YMMV.
