Twisters falls woefully short of the thrilling spectacle that its predecessor, Twister, delivered. If anything, this sequel makes the original look like a cinematic masterpiece by comparison. The plot, characters, and dialogue all feel incredibly bland, devoid of the excitement and tension that made the first film memorable. The storyline is uninspired, the characters lack depth, and the dialogue is forgettable at best. Visually, Twisters is a digital mess. The special effects look cheap and unconvincing, making it hard to believe that any significant budget was allocated to this production. The CGI tornadoes fail to evoke any sense of danger or awe, appearing more like something from a low-budget TV movie rather than a major Hollywood release. The lack of engagement was palpable in the theatre. People started leaving halfway through, others turned to their phones, and I found myself checking my watch frequently, hoping it would end soon. Overall, Twisters is a colossal disappointment. It completely lacks the charm and intensity of the original, making it an unworthy follow-up. After enduring this lacklustre sequel, I find myself appreciating Twister even more. I certainly won't be watching Twisters again. Save your time and rewatch the first one instead.
