Big Helium Dog
(1999)

More like the funniest movie ever
Bryan Lynch has made a terrific film here that combines all that is great about satire, sketch comedy, and the introspective, dialogue heavy films of the 90's. Perhaps some people watch Big Helium Dog expecting just to find another Kentucky Fried Movie or Kevin Smith film, but this is a truly original film that takes bold risks and creative twists. Many times the comedy is overtly silly, in the style of Monty Python, and other times more satirical like modern American sketch comedy. The plentitude and diversity of jokes though makes for a deeply satisfying and hilarious experience. Now I only wish they would hurry up and release this on DVD.

Now You Know
(2002)

Randal Makes Good
Jeff Anderson shows that he is not only one of the funniest unknown actors, but also a talented director and writer with this movie about a man trying to figure out why he's been left at the altar. I saw an early screening of the movie and must say that it was funny, heartfelt, and innovative. Not just a Kevin Smith knock-off, Jeff has taken his own direction making a romantic comedy for people sick of romantic comedies with simple solutions.
