Enola Holmes
(2020)

Funny, good, i enjoyed it
I found it engaging, very watchable. the cast were all very good. Normally, not my "cup of tea", but an entertaining couple of hours .

Delhi Crime
(2019)

A must see .
This is one of the best shows to come from NETFLIX. Based on fact, well acted and well produced. shocking and thought provoking. Subtitles are available, but parts were in English. Excellent show.

Schindler's List
(1993)

A timeless epic
Such a fantastic film, its beyond words. Filmed in Black and white except for the little girl in a red coat. Seen this classic twice; 3 hrs 15 minutes isn't long enough. A must see film....

Peter Rabbit
(2018)

For kids, yes, but for grand parents too
A quite funny film, the kids will love it, but so will adults, i actually took my grand daughters, i laughed out loud at time, the animation/live actors all worked so well...

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
(2018)

No car chases, just a tender tale
A gentle, tender film, well, acted, perhaps a "tad" lengthy film, but very enjoyable. A loving, romantic film, lovely settings, although not actually filmed in Guernsey ,but still a lovely film

Captain America: The First Avenger
(2011)

A feel good romp , nothing more.
After being deemed medically unfit for the military; Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero. Its an all action, kill the baddies and save the world kinda film, not great, but not all bad, The same format, hero, and a girl he likes, and of course she likes him. the villain of the film, was so borderline comical, but you knew you had to hate him. The direction of the film was clear from the start. the action was none stop and that was of course, the basis of this action film. Its enjoyable as long as you don't take this film too seriously. The acting inst bad, and you sorta find that deep passion to cheer Cap America to finish line

Waking the Dead
(2000)

simply a good a show by the BBC
Trevor Eve is is simply excellent,as is all the cast. Together they try and solve cases which have gone "Cold". The direction and script are wonderful, well put together and acted with so much heart. Those who haven't seen it yet,i recommend you do soon.

The Breed
(2001)

not all bloodsuckers are bad.
I tried to like this film but found it so bad I had to watch it to the end. Quite clearly the budget for this movie wasn't a lot. Was it me or didn't I get the plot? To me, this film was suppose to be set in the USA,the NSA was used as the base of this film,ok in the future it might have been, but clearly it had to have been shot in Europe,God knows where!! The Berlin wall has come down, but Easten Europe springs to mind.As I said I tried to like it;but I am sorry it was awful. Graham Smith

Under Suspicion
(2000)

Freeman,Hackman are just fantastic
Where do i start, the two actors steal this picture without trying;its a must see picture. The plot is very simple as it is intense;two murders take place, freeman has to find out "who did it". Hackman is the prime suspect, the two charactors are long time freinds, it would appear, but will murder and friendship mix,i think not. The long dialogue between the two main actors is fuelled by geat acting, the "flashback" scenes are very well done indeed. I have read some where that the director of the film "lost his way",i disagree,he holds the suspence to a limit yes, but still brings it to the boil too.

Shrek
(2001)

"A wise Cracking Donkey"....it works for me
A funny film for all, except it would go over very young kids heads. The film is full of fun, even "Charlie's Angels" get a mention, lol.

Myers, Murhpy, etc,etc work well together. Its 90 minutes worth of fun ,anyway you look at it..... Graham Smith

Bowfinger
(1999)

actors what are they like
well, this film is funny, and the 3 main stars work very well. i felt that Terence Stamp, Barry Newman and robert Downey Jr didn't work for me;it seemed to me that they were there just because of thier names. Martin,Murphy and Graham were enough.Terence Stamp, Barry Newman and robert Downey Jr just didn't have enough to do. So to the plot,Steve Martin who plays Robert K. Bowfinger, a director and owner of Bowfinger international films, is trying to make a "good film" called "chubby Rain" (but i will leave the storyline,i might spoil it for you). Martin has a few "actors" but he needs a big name to make his film the best. Enter Eddie Murphy, as Kit Ramsey, famous actor. Martin asks ,or trys to trick Murphy into "staring" in his film. Murphy of course doesn't want to know, but Martin must have him. Then what follows is a pure fun. Martin, has to pretend to all the other cast that murphy doesn't want to mingle with the others, so all Murhpy's shots are done without him knowing.(like fly on the wall docu type filming), Heather Graham who plays Daisy, (who jumped into everyone's bed to "make it big") finds out about Martin's con. The film gets made........ enjoy Steve Martin .... Robert K. Bowfinger Eddie Murphy .... Kit Ramsey/Jiffernson Ramsey Heather Graham .... Daisy Christine Baranski .... Carol Jamie Kennedy .... Dave Barry Newman .... Kit's Agent Adam Alexi-Malle .... Afrim, Screenwriter Kohl Sudduth .... Slater Terence Stamp .... Terry Stricter, MindHead Honcho Robert Downey Jr. .... Jerry Renfro, Producer

Evolution
(2001)

Those nasty creatures.......
The chemistry between David Duchovny, Julianne Moore, and Orlando Jones

is very good and the plot revolves round these people;it works very well indeed. The send up of a few monster movies is there to see. The operation scene was very funny. So catch this film if you can... 8/10

Spaceballs
(1987)

In space no one can hear you scream... with laughter
Once again, Mel Brooks has produced a winner, although i think his " Blazing Saddles" was a funnier film; with that said, the cast of Spaceballs were very good indeed. The "send up" of all sci-fi movies worked very well. Rick Moranis, who plays "Lord Dark Helmet" is very funny indeed. The quick gags are used with in perfect timing; as are the visual gags. The whole cast were very good, credit then to their acting and of course Mel Brooks own direction 8 /10

The X Files
(1998)

The truth is there guys, keep looking
I am a fan so perhaps this review might be a bit biased. The plot is in line with the series, the acting is just the same as the show. I would think that if you are a fan this will be your cup of tea, it is mine. For those of you who are not fans , just give it a chance; you never know you might enjoy this film.

Saving Private Ryan
(1998)

War is real,So is death
Tom Hanks is very good in this action thriller about a unit sent to find one man who has lost 3 members of his family in ww2. It centres round Private Ryan, and the soldiers sent to get him home in one piece. The start of this film is very bloody indeed, but so real you can feel the pain of the injuried and dying men. This is one watch again and again. 10/10

Airplane!
(1980)

would you ever fly again!!!!!!!!!!
if you like to laugh out loud this film is for you. Leslie Nielson is just so panfaced funny you might just break a bone or two when you try to stop laughing. The complete and utter madness in this film is a joy and you can see how the whole crew must have had so much fun in making it. THIS IS A MUST SEE FILM.
