Maaveeran
(2023)

amazing CONCEPT, but REPETITIVE in 2nd half. GIVE IT A TRY.
Maaveeran is really praiseworthy in terms of its story idea. It's a kind of a superhero film, but not the one which we generally watch and that's why it is unique. Because of its interesting idea you'll be engaged to you screen for a long time. But, after a certain point it became very repetitive.

Because expect the climax, our hero himself never show any heroic moments. Sivakarthikeyan played the character very well, but it's the character which was problematic, the character remained same throughout the film, I didn't like that. Besides, I loved all the scenes when Yogi Babu appeared, Comedy worked very well. For its concept and uniqueness I'll definitely recommend to watch this at least once.

Sigappu Rojakkal
(1978)

Kamal Haasan MAGIC.
Kamal Haasan has always done some roles which other superstars dare to do even today. The character from this film is another example of that, it's not easy to accept such roles. By the performence he has created such an atmosphere that viewers will be their edge of seat throughout.

Some scenes are too scary to watch. This film is way ahead of its time. It's editing, screenplay and of course BGM by Ilaiyaraaja are superb. Camera work is amazing. This technical department succeeded to make the thrill moments. Then Sridevi and her expressions, nothing can beat that. Kamal Haasan lovers should definitely watch this.

Rocket Boys: Smiling Buddha
(2023)
Episode 8, Season 2

A MUST WATCH SERIES. 🚀
While watching Rocket Boys S2 one thing that was always coming to my mind is that we can't change the History, we know what had happened but still while watching I was wanting that not to happen. Jim Sarbh as Homi Bhava has all our heart, so it was very tough to watch this season. It's very difficult to control you emotion while watching this season. In supporting loved Namit Das, Divyendu & K. C. Shankar as Mathur.

This season is more edgy than the previous one as makers presented the season in a thrilling way. It's fast paced and on to the mark. Again hats off to Achint Thakkar for such an amazing theme. In episode 7 there is a new theme which was set on old black & white days, that's also amazing. Through the lives of these extraordinary scientists we learn that ideas are immortal.

This series is must watch and thanks to Sony LIV & the whole team behind this show for making this.

Ela Veezha Poonchira
(2022)

NOT easily forgettable.
Heard so many amazing things about Ela Veezha Poonchira. But, after finishing the film I can say it's not an amazing film for me but just a good film. It's slow burn and in slow burn there should be something big in climax. But here, waiting was not worth it. That twist didn't work well for me.

The good things are the performances by the actors, brilliant location and atmosphere and you'll get to know about the place Ela veezha poonchira in Kerala. Also, I'm writing this so many days after watching the film, still I remember the scenes because of the atmosphere created. So, no doubt it's a good film, you'll not forget it really, you can watch it once.

Virupaksha
(2023)

Highly RECOMMENDED.
I think I've never watched a film completely based on black magic and tantra mantra. So, it was an amazing experience for me. Virupaksha is a clear winner both in terms of writing and execution. Writing is superb, it's too edgy, not a single unnecessary moment is there.

Visually this film is also brilliant, the way makers have shown the high moments scenes are totally praiseworthy. I loved Samyuktha Menon as Nandini, the character of male lead was not perfectly portrayed by the actor, so he was just okay for me. I'll highly recommend Virupaksha to everyone.

Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai
(2023)

STRONG. 💥
Based on a true case, ZEE5's recent release, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai is a very strong film. It's not perfect, there are flaws specially in editing. Still the film succeeded with its execution, writing and performances. It's engaging and on to the point. For a courtroom drama whenever our lead win an argument we should cheer, here I cheered in many moments.

Besides, as we say if the climax is hit the film is hit too. Here also the writing material peaked in the closing statements of P. C. Solanki. With this Manoj Bajpayee nailed the character of Adv. Solanki. The scene will be with me for some days. Whenever I'll on ZEE5 I'll watch this scene again and again. For those who loved courtroom drama this is a brilliant watch.

Bhediya
(2022)

VISUALLY amazing but PROBLEM in writing.
When you want to give some messages to the audience within a genre film, it shouldn't be straightforward. The film primarily should be focused on that genre. Bhediya is a Horror-Comedy, but both these elements didn't work well in the film. Only Stree successfully did this, both Roohi & Bhediya failed in writing.

But, there are too many positives things also in Bhediya. Visually the film is amazing. All the jungle scenes or specially the transformation scenes were too good. And Varun acted brilliantly in these scenes. Songs by Sachin-Jigar were good and the BGM was perfect. Lastly, thanks to Maddock for Bhediya, maybe in future we'll get more of like these with better writing.

Romancham
(2023)

An Amazing Horror-Comedy.
Romancham became a Sleeper hit in the industry and one of the most profitable Malayalam movies of all time. Now, when a horror film is based on True events automatically it became interesting. Yes, Romancham is based on incidents that is said to have happened in the life of seven bachelors in 2007 Bangalore. Writing should be the best things in any Horror-Comedy. Romancham has succeeded here.

Each character has its own characteristics which make it more funnier. It's very funny and there are very good scary moments. Bgm is another integral part of this genre, that worked too very well here. Amazing performances by the ensemble cast. Special mention to Arjun Ashokan as Sinu, best character of the film. Will wait for its sequel which is already announced officially.

Iratta
(2023)

One of the BEST films on TWINS I've seen.
'Iratta' proved again why Malayalam Cinema is the best right now. 'Iratta' means Twin, it's the story of 2 twin brothers and a murder mystery. The screenplay was non-linear and it was important to show it in this way as through this they've shown the past lives of the lead characters. While watching this you may predict certain things but then you'll be facing that big climax.

It'll be very hard to digest that climax as it's too much disturbing. By this the film also delivers some strong social messages. Joju George as both the twin brothers nailed it. He successfully made us feel for both the characters equally, screenplay and direction does the rest. Both the BGM and the songs were used in perfect scenario. 'Thaaraattayi' will haunt me whenever I'll listen to it. A MUST WATCH.

Vaalvi
(2023)

RECOMMENDED.
One husband wants to kill his wife and makes it to be looked like a suicide. Will he be succeeded on his plan or not is the premises of Vaalvi. It's a Dark-Comedy Thriller, so there are many funny moments, also good thrill is there. Laugh out moments are there specially in the 2nd half.

The screenplay is perfect, I smiled, laughed and get shocked throughout the film. The ending is unexpected, loved it. Amazing Performances by all, loved Swapnil Joshi and Shivani Surve the most. I've heard that makers will do a sequel and I'll be waiting for that. Thriller lovers shouldn't miss this one. Recommended.

Phone Bhoot
(2022)

LOVED it.
Phone Bhoot is an amazing comedy in modern times. The comedy contains a variety of materials, from References of actors' own films to tv ads, memes & many more and everything worked perfectly. Loved all the three leads, special mentions for the amazing Jackie Shroff who played himself and Sheeba Chadha as Chikni Chudail.

If you get all the comic punches it'll be too much fun for you to watch this film. We can't get good comedy films in Hindi nowadays, Excel Entertainment has made something different and succeeded here.

I'll definitely recommend this.

Nope
(2022)

Didn't like it.
When everyone was talking only positive things and the director is Jordan Peele, that always brings some expectations. So, I started to watch 'Nope,' and while watching I thought that something will definitely come to amaze us. But, after finishing the whole film there was nothing, it was so simple.

Then I thought I didn't understand anything, so I search for some explanation videos and articles. And after watching and reading those, still I didn't find anything. Just because there are some inner meanings and messages, can't conclude it as a good film. In that case, every film is good. So, I didn't like 'Nope' at all, but you may love it.

Govinda Naam Mera
(2022)

good TIME PASS FUN movie.
The movie didn't start well. But, it became edgy when that murder happened. As after that there are so many twists. Those are not very big twists or something like that because we all have seen those types of things in many movies, but only for those twists and turns you'll be hooked. Some comedy moments didn't work at all but most of them work.

Some actors I loved here like Sayaji Shinde, Trupti Khamkar, Dayanand Shetty, Kiara and also loved the cameos. You may predict many things or even the climax but this genre works, I liked it. The film is entertaining and that's what it should be, at least it will not make you bore. It's a good time pass fun movie.

Gandhi, My Father
(2007)

Gandhi - The Father.
Just like the title suggests this film portrayed the relationship between Mahatma Gandhi and his eldest son Harilal Gandhi. We all know about the father of our Nation but many don't know about this Father-Son relationship. I think this is the only film which depicts the life of Harilal and through this film you'll got to know so many things about him. It not only portrayed the life of Harilal but also shows why there can't be another Mahatma.

There are such strong scenes where you can't control your tears. This is the best performance of Akshaye Khanna I've seen. Also, these two are the most underrated performences of Darshan Jariwala as Mahatma and Shefali Shah as Kasturba Gandhi. Thanks to the director Feroz Abbas Khan for giving us this amazing film. This is a must watch.

The Romantics
(2023)

If you've loved Hindi Cinema so far you'll love this.
The Romantics is not only about the romantic films that YRF produced but all about The Great Yash Chopra & YRF. Also, it talks not only about the successful films but also about the films which failed. It also presented how Cinema has changed with its time and situation.

I've never watched an Aditya Chopra interview and by watching the documentary I got to know that he never gave that. But, it's so good to hear him, first he's a movie lover and then a producer, writer & director. It features the making of some iconic films, it would've been good if they showed the same of Veer Zara too. Lastly, if you've loved Hindi Cinema so far you'll love this.

Farzi
(2023)

Another Raj & DK Magic. ✨
Generally, I don't watch Web Shows, but when Raj & DK is behind the camera I can't skip that. Again they've proved that they're one of the most amazingly talented writers/filmmakers in today's time. We know Farzi is about counterfeit money, the way they've shown this entire process with every single detail is superb.

Next, it is an amazing ensemble cast performance. My favourite of this cast is undoubtedly Vijay Sethupathi. He has got the best lines and delivered them perfectly.

Now, Raj & DK means some unique comedy So, there are so many scenes where you'll laugh thoroughly, the conversion between Sethupathi & Zakir Hussain are super hilarious. Though the Runtime is 8 hrs you'll not bore for one moment, besides it'll give you some big surprises.

Another Raj & DK Magic. ✨

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
(2022)

One of THE BEST Marvel films.
Wakanda Forever has everything what was missing in last few Marvel projects. It has pure emotion, perfect characters development, amazing visuals & action sequences and a very strong villain. Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor and Angela Bassett as Queen acted brilliantly. I didn't like the Queen character that much in previous films. But, here the character was portrayed so well that I felt for her.

Good to see the nice introduction of Riri Williams, looking forward to see her in IronHeart as there's so many things which has not been revealed yet. Lastly, without any doubt this is one of the best Marvel films of all time.

Shikarpur
(2023)

The BEGINNING of ZEE5 Big Lineup.
Last year, Hoichoi started the year with amazing Gora. This year, ZEE5 did the same. Shikarpur is the beginning of ZEE5's big lineup and they have succeeded in their 1st release. It's a very enjoyable content both in terms of mystery and the slight comedy.

Loved the performances. The lead character got a good storyline and Ankush portrayed it very well. The chemistry between his character and his guru played amazingly by Kaushik Ganguly was lovely to watch. There's a 7 mins long single take sequence and I always love to watch these shots. Overall, I liked it very much.

Chup
(2022)

MUST WATCH for all the CINEPHILES.
When a cinema is about Cinema, there's always something special. This film offers so many things which a cine lover loves. Dulquer is totally brilliant in the film, loved Pooja Bhatt & Sunny Deol too. From the trailer itself we understood that the dialogues are going to be great & they really are.

In one side, Chup offers an amazing thrill which will keep you edge of your seat. And in another side, it is a beautiful tribute to the Great Guru Dutt, the Great Bachhan & above all Cinema. Music has been used so well, the last recreation of 'Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye' is too good & emotional. Lastly, Chup is a must watch for all the cinephiles.

Zootopia+
(2022)

LOVELY
Zootopia+ is a short spin-off series of Disney's Zootopia, one of my favourite animated films. In this series, every episode focuses on different characters who were there in the small part of the film. The thing I liked the most here is the crossover scenes with the movie, loved the smart writing.

All the things were simultaneously happening, it was so good to watch. Another thing I liked here is that every episode is genre specific. Episode 4 is my favourite, others were enjoyable too. Hope to see more of like this in future. I am always ready to watch anything in the world of Zootopia.

Monica O My Darling
(2022)

For all the MOVIE LOVERS. 🖤
'Monica O My Darling' is an amazing Dark Comedy from Vasan Bala. After MKDNH, Ray and now this, he's becoming one of my favourite filmmakers. Every actor was brilliant, Rajkummar is gem of an actor, we all know that. Huma was sheer perfect for this character, I think after GOW I loved her so much. Also, after a long time I totally enjoyed watching Radhika's performance.

Special mention for Sukant Goel, he's doing great with his back to back amazing performances for last few years. One of the major plus point of the film is the use of songs. Perfect songs & music were used in background with the situations, this enhances the enjoyment. Loved to see the cameos. I've not watched much dark comedies, so I can say this is one of the best I've watched.

Orphan: First Kill
(2022)

a ONE time watch for Isabelle Fuhrman.
When we're watching a prequel which is focused on a specific character, we already know so many things, the most important thing is that he/she can't be dead. That's why we know how the film is going to be end. That made the climax predictable. Besides, There are many loopholes, can't say those or they'll act as spoiler.

The plot is very similar to its predecessor with a twist. But, that twist is also a big problem, it's not logical. Good thing is that once we start to watch the film we can't leave it before finish as the unpredictability nature of the character is brilliantly portrayed by Isabelle Fuhrman. Finally, Orphan was totally amazing where First Kill is quite disappointing yet a one time watch.

Ballabhpurer Roopkotha
(2022)

BEST Bengali Comedy after Bhooter Bhabishyat. ✨
This year, Bengali Cinema has gifted us with so many gems, Ballabhpurer Roopkotha is the icing on the cake. I can say, this is The BEST Bengali Comedy after Anik Dutta's Bhooter Bhabishyat. This is completely a TRUE Bengali film. You may predict the story in moments but you'll enjoy every single minute of the film.

An amazing ensemble cast performance. Though everyone was equally brilliant loved Debraj Bhattacharya the most both as an actor and music composer. I think his character was tough to portray, but he did it with perfection. All the songs are too good & also quite unique.

Lastly, Anirban Bhattacharya as writer, director & lyricist. 💥

Now in Cinemas. 🎬

Karthikeya
(2014)

a BAD film.
There's nothing to like in the film. Bad acting, full of cliché moments, so many loopholes and most importantly unnecessary and unaffective comedy dialogues. Still couldn't stop the film in between only because of the mystery. I'll say the film is bad. After finishing the first part, I had no interest in watching part 2, but had to because of its amazing responses.

Now, no doubt part 2 is far better than part 1 but still can't say that it's brilliant. Only because of the mythological reference I was watching till the end, otherwise I would stop it in between. While watching this type of films we audiance should surprise in moments, but I had the same expression from beginning to end of the film. Only good thing I found in part 2 is the scenes with Anupam Kher. Finally, maybe this genre is not for me or it's really not a very good film, I don't know.
