Sisu
(2022)

Too much Tarantino, too little realism.
Over exaggerated in every aspect, that at the end is absolutely unrealistic - a terrible flaw for a historical movie. The gore, the style, the cinematography - everything is absolute Tarantino rip-off all the way up to the title font.

Unfortunately the finish soul and culture wasn't present. They spoke in English, fins and Germans all the way up to the end. So for me this movie is a wast. Good potential, horrible end result.

It was so unrealistic in 90% of the time - impossible stunts, and ethnics. All this really ruins the movie.

It goes in the b-rated movies genre, and definitely as a European cinema... unfortunately.

Extraction
(2020)

Disappointing!
"One man army" are OK, and there always will be audience. This movie is exactly of the kind. Starts very good: 1. Great lead 2. Very nice work with weapons, cool up to date technics and mechanics the way weapons are used 3. Great hand to hand combat that brings the right feeling of realistic horror But.... the plot is so dull - all of it!

It's just not realistic, the situations, the decisions... everything!

So I'm just sorry for the lost potential in this one. Such a wast of bullets and screen time :)

Dragged Across Concrete
(2018)

Dragged slowly Across Boredom!
May be the biggest problem if this movie is the legit and pace. The story can easily be put in 90min max, but the director decided to give him self sadistic pleasure by making it 160min film, full of scenes like 2min of removing padlock, ffs!! Lack of proper soundtrack is also a problem- feels like some strange documentary. The story is ok. nice idea. The actors are good, even Vince Vaughn after 10-15min is ok in dramatic role. Mel Gibson gives great performance, but it is totaly not worth it, or even enough to make to movie more bearable. And his redicolous moustache... So I would say... do not hurt yourself with this movie!

Dosieto Petrov
(2015)

Could've been great movie...
Political drama around the transition of Bulgaria from socialistic state to western capitalism. The story follows the life of two friends from acting school, one successful actor in the national theatre, the other high-rank officer in the state secret police. Trough personal drama, high hopes, lies, love and betrayal, to movie goes from 1988 to 1995. Following the fall of socialistic era and the mechanisms with witch the high party officials and secret police kept the political and economical control in Bulgaria. The movie is poorly based on real events and people. The staging and realism is good in general, the viewer can appreciate the effort of the crew to recreate the era. The casting is also great. Everybody fit perfectly in the role. But.... The movie was too slow and to dramatic to be as good as it could be. The tempo was horrible. Majority of the the scenes were over reacted with emotions and performance. Also the sound was bad - it was difficult to understand some of the lines.

In conclusion I feel sorry for the lost potential.

Dark Phoenix
(2019)

Slow, predictable and pointless.
Either I watched too many super hero movies, or this one is just bad... Everything was wrong in this one. It was so slow and over dramatic in every single scene, that there was no time for story and character development. The "Phenix" never become really "dark"... just a bit angry. The villains was plain and very undeveloped. The music was sooo over the top with anxiety in every single scene that around the first third I was between the choice to leave the theatre or to cut my veins. Characters that I love and follow for decades, here just was dull and empty.... Whole plot and dialog were predictable as written from a 6 year old. Even fighting scenes was somehow too much. In general, this movie probably will be ok for teenagers who just steps into cinema, but for all the rest of us is just lost of time!

The Mountain Between Us
(2017)

Looks like it's produced by Blacked.com :))))
I'm sorry for the rude humour, it was a nice movie after all, but the hole story, and the dynamics between them just give that feeling as it was produced by the adult label :)

About the movie it's decent survival story. I liked the scenography The mountains and Idaho nature The acting was good

I didn't like that it dragged on some places And the cheesy moments - especially the ending scene. also never like when they change the enticing of a book character to fit some agenda. / Fassbender was the original cast /. Don't get me wrong, Elba is amazing actor and he really filled the role, just don't like this disrespect to the author and all this modern Hollywood agendas.

Nice movie in general. :)

Collateral
(2004)

Good, but not to Mann standards
It's a good triller with strong acting, great atmosphere of the big and lonely L.A at the night. Cinematography and music are also great, but there is just somethings wrong in this movie. First: Cruise is not fit for a villain. Don't get me wrong, he is amazing actor, and acted it perfectly, but this "Vincent" just isn't him. A darker persona like Tim Roth or Sean Penn would've been much better. 2. Same for Jamie Foxx - just the wrong actor. Glasses and manic character don't fit his body and face. 3. Too many coincidences all the time to make the plot believable. To many even for a movie 4. The shootout in the night club was too slow and the heavily armed police reacted totally unrealistic In general- good movie, just good.... Michael Mann directing Tom Cruise.... should've been a classic!

A Quiet Place
(2018)

Plain stupid and totally illogical!
SPOILERS!

A family try to survive by staying quite in a post-apocalyptic world, where almost everybody is killed by blind, super-hearing creatures that look like a child of Venom and the Alien. So far so good. After nearly an hour of hiding we found out that: 1.waterfall sound is enough to hide you 2. Bed mattress over a basement door is totally sound proof 3. Newborn babies don't cry - EVER! 4. Shotgun is enough to kill the creature...

5. apparently the super sensitive hearing of the beasts is vulnerable to high frequency sounds.... (how surprising)

6. The creature is easily distracted and lured by sound- any sound!

So, the conclusions: 1. All the humanity never came with the idea to use soundproof hideouts 2. The most powerful army in the world, equipped with tanks that can survive nuclear blast and jet fighters fester then sound equipped with thousands of destructive technologies- all types and ways against anything, can't destroy invading force of stupid primal creatures, that are soft enough to be killed with shotgun and Stupid enough to be made to run after an alarm clock.... 3. Not a single army in the world tried all the sound frequencies against this highly sensitive beasts...

The movie is so logical that is insulting. \the makers didn't even have the courtesy to tell us more about those invaders - who are they, where they come from etc. For 1h and 30min the movie jumped over sounds, zoomed on big scared eyes, and even Emily Blunt dramatic performance couldn't save you of total boredom. Visually the movie is a cliche - CGI generated creature, straight from PS4 game, thousands of red lights everywhere... because resources are not an issue after the apocalypses. And of curse the corn farm and corn field... how the movie can go without them?! I can't understand only 2 things - how they cast Blunt, and why this nonsense have rating of 7,5 ?!?

Conclusion - watch only the trailer and save 2 hours of your life!!!

Den of Thieves
(2018)

Fullblooded, fleshy, REAL!
One big advantage this movie have, unlike the majority of the actions that comes, is the heavy dense realism. The movie stinks with testosterone, but not the modern one, it's old school, ex-military, drunk, angry, working out, fighting with anything in hand, type. The rivalry in both leaders and teams is great! You feel the teams as a monolith structures. The weapons and tactics are very realistic.movie also gives some good questions about society, and the roles we have in it. You can feel Michal Man infulense, definitely can find few "Heat" scenes and Ofcourse there's weak sides, some questionable situations, undeveloped relationships, but non of them ruins the great movie, wich even can bring a surprise at the end. So defenetely a movie worth watching!
