Avatar: The Last Airbender
(2024)

Pretty solid adaptation
I've watched the original animated series multiple times and always enjoy it, so obviously there was some doubt when a live-action series was announced; however, those doubts were cast aside when I started watching the first episode. It's a pretty solid adaptation and I've been enjoying it (currently on episode 7).

The casting is great with some standing out more than others (love seeing Amber Midthunder!), but a lot of these actors have had little screen time before this, so I'm willing to give them time to grow. The writing in general is faithful to the original but the creators also make adjustments to compliment the transition to live-action; honestly, if it was a 100% recreation I don't think it could work. The tone is slightly heavier in this series, so yes some of Aang's childishness is lost, but I'm liking it.

Overall: great show. I think diehard fans of the original will enjoy watching it, and even those newer to the Avatar world will get hooked.

Invincible
(2021)

Wow
Simply incredible. I watched the whole first season in one day. The storyline, the voice acting, the style...all of it worked so well together. I was almost questioning why so many people were raving over it until the final scene of the first episode, and then I was hooked. Can't wait to watch it again!

Pose: Series Finale (Part I)
(2021)
Episode 7, Season 3

Live. Werk. Pose!
What a phenomenal ending to one of the most powerful shows in recent memory. Every character had such a beautiful story arc throughout the season, and it was especially encouraging to see displays of trans success in this finale; sadly, it's not something we see every day in real life.

This show will live on as a reminder that we can be better versions of ourselves, and should try our best every day to make someone else's life worth living.

RuPaul's Drag Race: Corona Can't Keep a Good Queen Down
(2021)
Episode 9, Season 13

Wonderful behind the scenes look!
It's true, this episode doesn't show any performances. What it does show it an amazing look into filming during the pandemic. This doc-Ru-mentary is not to be missed!

RuPaul's Drag Race UK: The RuRuvision Song Contest
(2021)
Episode 5, Season 2

Ho. Ly. Crap.
The judging. Wow. I could watch RuPaul get angry every week. One of the greatest RPDR episodes based solely on that commentary!

Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar
(2021)

I couldn't stop laughing
Barb and Star is so incredibly random that it shouldn't work, and yet...it is so incredibly funny. Is there a message somewhere? Yes. Do I want to go party with Barb and Star? Also yes. If you need a nice, refreshing laugh, this is it. Prepare for fun cameos, unnecessary but much loved bouts of singing, and a very different tale of friendship.

Pretend It's a City

Stay for the credits!
Fran holds nothing back, and that's what makes this show so captivating. Make sure to stay after the credits of each episode!

Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt's Creek Farewell
(2020)

A great send-off
A really wonderful special that every Schitt's Creek fan should watch. It's amazing to see how many lives this show touched, and how much it impacted the lives of those in the show. I cried a lot more than I thought I would, and laughed along with the whole cast as they told their stories and reflected on six glorious years.

Don't pay attention to the other salty reviewer on here complaining about them not thanking the fans enough or mentioning the towns they filmed in. This is Schitt's Creek's moment, let them have it.

Tiger King
(2020)

beautiful mayhem
If this isn't the best depiction of America, I don't know what is. so many astounding characters, so much hatred and spite, so many questions, and so entertaining.

hey all you cool cats and kittens!

RuPaul's Drag Race: World's Worst
(2020)
Episode 3, Season 12

not a bad episode
Not really sure where all the low ratings are coming from, other than maybe Crystal Methyd not being in the bottom two...yes, Sherry Pie won the challenge, but we can't rate the episode low because of that. The disclaimer at the beginning of the episode clearly states she won't be winning the whole competition...also, maybe if Dahlia had learned her lyrics she would have stayed! But good week for Heidi Ho!

Schitt$ Creek: The Presidential Suite
(2020)
Episode 8, Season 6

Annie Murphy
This was the Alexis episode we've been waiting for.

Such great performances from Annie Murphy and Dustin Milligan...I'll miss this!

Schitt$ Creek: Moira Rosé
(2020)
Episode 7, Season 6

Hysterical
One of the funniest episodes of the season, and maybe of the series, with some very endearing moments sprinkled within. Catherine O'Hara outdoes herself again...

Can't wait to reach the Gateway!

Gyejeolgwa gyejeol sai
(2018)

Beautiful
Saw this film at the Hong Kong Lesbian Gay Film Festival with the director in attendance.

Overall, really well done. The acting was spot-on, especially by the lead actresses. Being a Korean film made this film even more impactful considering the subject matter; it brings much needed awareness to LGBTQ+ themes, especially in countries where it isn't talked about or even believed. Representation matters, and this film achieves that.

Pose: In My Heels
(2019)
Episode 10, Season 2

We all need a Lil Papi in our lives...
A fantastic ending to a phenomenal season. Wonderful writing, beautiful moments, and flawless acting.

Angel Bismark Curiel as Lil Papi stole it for me this episode (which is so hard to do when up against those powerhouses of Rodriguez, Moore, and Porter).

I'm excited for Season 3 to continue telling these beautiful stories!

Pose: Revelations
(2019)
Episode 8, Season 2

the tea!!
One of the most moving episodes of the series. The complications of these old and new relationships are handled so well...

MJ Rodriguez and Indya Moore are astounding as always, with Billy Porter giving us all of the feels. Dominique Jackson and Hailie Sahar's comic relief is a welcome sight!!

I think I cried only 3 times during this episode?
