Brahmastra Part One: Shiva
(2022)

Bollywood can't get out of its own way
Brahmastra could've been great but sadly it's made in Bollywood if a south Indian direct had made this it could've been great but sadly dharma chose to make it a nepo project from director to leading duo all selected due to their lastnames not talented that's what tanked this movie.

Useless dance numbers with nonsensical lyrics, forceful Romantic filler content, awful awful dialogues and no general plot. Ranbir can't act out of depressed and comedic extreme roles he is not a action hero stop trying to make him one. Ayan is not a action/sci fi director he can only make romantic melancholy movies, Alia's role was forced in move because love is so important. Truly bad management by Karan Johar but what more you can expect from makers of Student of the year 2.

Prey
(2022)

Entertaining but makes no sense
If you are a first time watcher and know nothing about predator movies then maybe maybe you will find this entertaining but to long time fans like me this makes no sense. What made predator movies great was the overwhelming superiority of predators in comparison to humans, but apparently 150 lbs girls with tomahawks and dogs can kill a predator nowdays and the cringe and absolute disrespect to native American customs to push a agenda is disgusting to say the least.

Thor: Love and Thunder
(2022)

Save your money avoid this mediocre drivel
It's hard to put in words how mediocre and nonsensical this movie was, my first Marvel movie where I couldnt wait to get out of theatre it was that bad. Everything is a joke and there's no stakes at all, full of filler characters like Valkyrie like why was she in this movie? What was her purpose? Krog was not funny at all.

Also Disney's classic bait and switch technique from tv shows has officially transcended to movies, this movie was not about Thor at all but about Jane foster and her garbage Thor. Og Thor was just there as eye candy and being a bumbling idiot while the girls take care of business. Taika needs a break from movies his production of garbage content must stop here same for MCU just stop please.

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect
(2022)

Price of Patriotism
A lot of movies are entertaining, some are excellent but only few of them are important. Rocketry is one such movie, this biographical adaptation of Nambi sir's turbulent life and his perseverance deserves your time and undivided attention kudos to madhavan for bringing this epic tale to cinemas, Indian audience is thankful to him.

Panchayat
(2020)

A Show with Rare human feel that touches hearts and souls
I rarely rate something a 9 so this 10 out of 10 is something special for me, this show has some of the best casting in Indian cinema, or that it has the most authentic village experience that any show or movie has done in decades or because of its writing that sets up humour and drama elements like it's magic but the things that stands out the most is the human characters that are so relatable and special at the same time, believe me you have to watch this atleast once.

Bachchhan Paandey
(2022)

Originality is Unalive in Bollywood
Bacchan panday is Hindi remake of a telgu remake which is remake of a kannada remake of a South Korean movie, thus proving my point. Now the South Koreans have a certain panash in their characters they actually pay writers to create intresting characters with deep personalities but in Bollywood land of unpaid writing interns and samji and nadiawala this is a distant dream. Won't lie Akshay is good in movie but his character is as plain as it gets like you saw everything intresting about this movie in its trailer. The days of solo carry stars are long gone it's time that Bollywood actually invests in original scripts with depth. Also request to audience look at writers & Directors not actors before deciding on a movie, it may save you a few bucks.

The Kashmir Files
(2022)

Don't look away
Kashmir has always been a touchy subject in Indian subcontinent and few creators are brave enough to depict the tragedy of kashmiri pandits for that alone this movie deserves your time and attention. Unlike shikara which was so far from truth that calling it fiction would be suitable the kashmiri files does not shy away from the dark side of Dawn of Indian state and the lives that lie casted out in its shadow of negligence. Brave cinema like this deserves accolades.

The Batman
(2022)

Not for me
Just severely disappointed from this was actually waiting for it to end so I can just go home. Severe lack of action scenes and iconic characters. Rob was okay as Batman his glommy demeanour actually works in his favour for once. Zoe was criminally underused like she didn't have any memorable contribution apart from the forced plot about her history. Many will like it but this really felt this it was a script for a crime thriller that was then adapted for Batman ip. WB can't get its act straight.

The Legend of Vox Machina
(2022)

Review from a Non D&D fan
First I have to appreciate the awesome voice acting, back and forth between characters and beautiful animation. Guess thats why the hype was so great around this show. For non D&D fans like me I would say this show is good for binge watching it you are very much into high fantasy. Some negatives in my opinion rushed lore and relentless adult humor which became a annoyance after some time.

The King's Man
(2021)

A Decent one time watch
Rarely prequels reinvent the proverbial artistic wheel in cinema. The king's man suffers from the same fate, while being a good watch in itself it fails to deliver a proper grounded origin to the beloved and ruthless agency of kingsman.

A overstuffed script was biggest shortcoming of this movie which is a rare occurrence in itself in flaky script filled Hollywood. Too many things too little time. Atleast it lays a good foundation for further world building in Kingman universe.

The Wheel of Time
(2021)

Good entertainer with high production budget
I am not a book veteran so this is purely from fresh perspective. The production value alone makes this a worthy watch. Yes there are some irregularities in acting and show pacing but nothing is rarely that perfect in first season. I see huge potential in this shows future and definitely recommend this to any fantasy fan.

Reacher
(2022)

No nonsense solid entertainer
I am a long time Jack Reacher fan and it's an absolute delight to say that the series is very much true to its source material something i rarely see nowadays. Obviously this won't reinvent the action thriller wheel but it's pretty decent and awesome television with great casting, acting and dialogues. For the short span it lasts it absolutely deserves your time.

Minnal Murali
(2021)

Bollywood should learn
Recently the superhero genre has blown up like anything, while Hollywood has not only embraced but also found great sucess in superhero genre Bollywood has been left behind a million paces. Whatever little efforts made are either underwhelming or downright cringefest.

In this landscape Minnal Murali is a breath of fresh air the script and production value especially VFX are really really well done. Best thing about this movie is that characters are really well done and not rushed just to fit unnecessary VFX fight scenes.

I think the romance obsessed Bollywood shrills can learn a thing or two from this movie and try to churn out some good Original content instead of usual sluge they deem entertainment.

Don't Look Up
(2021)

Stars and Satire, but what else?
I don't know if my expections have blown sky high or Hollywood has simply lost the art to make good movies. Big names, Good director, nice production budget and a intresting plot On paper don't look up is ideal candidate for a cult classic but there's something missing. I don't know if its lack of cinematography, catchy dialogues, well woven script or memorable characters but it just seems off.

I feel bad for writing a bad review because I know how much effort goes into making a movie but I must speak from my heart.

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui
(2021)

A Bollywood movie with fresh original content that actually makes sense, it's a miracle
Chandigarh kare ashiqui is worth your money and time, unlike the recent garbage churned out by Bollywood this movie won't bore you with cheesy one liners or usual romantic troupes. Instead it will start as a light hearted romanctic comedy and end with a feel good movie with a solid message behind.

Tadap
(2021)

Rx 100 first copy straight from palika bazzar
I don't understand what is with new comers and cringey love stories. I think Bollywood saw Salman & Amir's respective success in their debuts and now they thing this formula will work till eternity but they don't seem to understand that the movie itself should be good for this to work. Tadap is exactly how you would expect it to be there is nothing astonishing about this movie. Sure actors did their best but sometimes that's not enough especially with a remake that's not even on par with source material. Please bring original non romantic content for debutants.

Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1
(2021)

Slept like a Baby
My expectations with this movie was literally turned on its head. I expected a KGFesque fun fest of action and deep lore instead I got a snooze fest of one liners like "not flower but fire" and same old troupes that are found in your tipical sas Bahu family dramas. Allu Arjun is great but even he can't carry a dull straight forward script.

PS: The dubbing of songs was terrible I mean it was absolutely terrible please just play songs in original language that's infinitely more enjoyable.

Satyameva Jayate 2
(2021)

My friend had literal headache watching this
I won't give a detailed review for this joke, Every dialogue is a cringe rhyme, their is one disaster after another, no laws of gravity physics or common sense seems to apply in this abhorrent mockery of cinema. It's a nauseating cringe fest please avoid for your & your friends/family well-being.

PS: Only good thing is kusu kusu song, Nora didi to the rescue.

The Last Duel
(2021)

A Great Movie in these Dire times
The last Duel has all the elements to keep you entertained for its duration. Casting is very well done and story telling is actually engaging. Production value is high and it shows. It's a movie I will be coming back to in future just for the costumes and ambience alone. A great feather in Scott's hat.

Cowboy Bebop
(2021)

A Good Show but a terrible adaptation
I sincerely believe that live action adaptation of animes will always be underwhelming only good one I have seen is ruroni kenshin and cowboy bebop proves my point yet again. It's already nigh impossible for Japanese studios but put Netflix's out of touch production/Direction team and you truly get a bad product

Don't get me wrong it's a good entertaining show but the casting is absolute travesty especially for OG anime fans. John cho is great actor and does his absolute best with spike but he is just too old to play a character molded as the carefree youth. Mustafa who i frankly expected to be the worse of the bunch is actually the best part of the show he literally embodies the annoyed old guy spirit of jet black.

Now the worse parts Faye valentine's character has been absolutely destroyed and no it's not only the clothes but they have completely killed her sensual vibe and fox like demeanour. Basically everything good about her has been stripped and turned into a annoying entitled child.

Vicious and Julia receive more screen time but it actually hurts the enigma of their character. Vicious in particular has almost turned into a comically deranged character. Grens character again was stripped of all mystery and turned into your usual queen trope.

The liberties taken with the script introducting the same old family divorce drama in a show that needs none of it. Giving show a central plot which is exact opposite of loose plot direction that made anime a hit. In making it palatable for wide Audience Netflix zapped cowboy's soul.

Red Notice
(2021)

Watch it for the Stars
Red notice is pretty much everything you expect it to be it's a straight forward heist movie with some comedy & twists sprinkled in between. Movie's USP is its stars who are doing what they do best.

Rock is your stoic tough guy, Ryan is your killer comedian and gal looks hot while beating people. It's nothing you will remember after a few weeks but a good one time watch.

Arcane: League of Legends
(2021)

Renewing my Netflix for this
I don't have a single bad thing to say about this and I tried really hard to find some flaws but there are none.

Script is great, Animation is awesome, Voice acting is on point all in a Steampunk universe. This is the magic formula. Believe the hype.

Foundation
(2021)

Great intentions Poor Execution
Let me start by saying that asimov's work cannot be completely adaptated in today's cinema. The production cost will be astronomical and I don't think any script writer and properly build a timeline suited for television format yet.

Now the production value is top notch like really up there and we all appreciate Apple for their work but characters and script are very weak because of needless fiddling with source material.

Many of you will find the story boring and characters bland because they have been "Politically corrected" way too much. Some of the best characters like hardin has been completely reworked. But still it's a good one time watch.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
(2021)

Usual Marvel Watch
Now don't be misled by my title I loved Shang chi but lack of innovation is now really showing in Marvel movies. No matter how good a formula is it will give diminished results with time.

Yet it's a great one time watch the cast has carried this movie literally from Shang chi, Katy and even a very likable villain.

Injustice
(2021)

DC animation is wasting it's potential
Movie is good for one time watch, Animation is premium quality & source adaptation is okay. It's hard to adapt great plotlines like injustice into a small feature film without sacrificing a lot of content. That's why I loved long halloween's two part approach.

DC is truly wasting it's animation potential with these great but overly saturated source material. Instead they should focus on lesser known plotlines.
