Solaris
(2002)

one word: boring
the good thing about solaris is that you get the see george clooney's ass. the bad thing - the whole movie is so amazingly boring that it's hard to not fall asleep. i expected a thrilling sci-fi movie and ended up in an melodramatic yet utterly boring relationship/love story. wait for the video if you rally wanna see it cause in my opinion it's not worth the money. 6 stars out of 10

The Eighteenth Angel
(1997)

am i the only one
who thinks that this movie was completely lame? the only reason i watched the whole movie was because i expected a good ending at least. but even the ending is just so crappy and lame that i can't help thinking that i wasted my time on this boring movie. watch it if you are a raechel leigh cook fan, but even her performance didn't move me at all. rating - 4 out of 10 stars.

From Hell
(2001)

from hell - good title
for this lame movie. it wasn't even scary, just disturbing. the killings made no sense. the whole story was quite senseless. was it a cruel love story? a slasher movie with some romance or what? johnny depp was great, that's it. heather graham's acting was disappointing. she didn't even fit into the movie. and how come she always looked so nice and clean while her friends were dirty and bad dressed? my advice - rent on video, don't waste your money on this crappy movie.

Urban Legend
(1998)

average
well, compared to some other teenie horror flicks (thinking about the annoying 'i know what you did last summer' or 'disturbing behavior' movies) this nearly seems good. in fact, if you don't take it too serious it's nice entertainment. i liked the story with all this urban legends - gives it some kind of creativity, though the ending is just lame, the typical stuff. so it's not 'scream' but it's still on the good side of teen-horror. i'd give it 7 points out of 10.

Disturbing Behavior
(1998)

nothing new
the movie should be called 'annoying behavior' because it's really dead boring. the topic with this kids-controlled-by-chips-in-their-head (or whatever) is really not very creative. the whole story and acting is just very weak. my suggestion : don't waste your time on this movie.

Scream 2
(1997)

the proof - sequels suck
well, maybe it wasn't that bad. but compared to part 1, the original 'scream' it seems quite lame. part 1 had brilliant characters and really brilliant actors (matthew lillard, rose mcgowan,..) so in part 2 there's just something missing. besides with all the well-known actors who appear in scream 2 you'll just go - 'hey that's the buffy actress' and 'there's the guy from dawson's creek' and so on.. you know, somewhat ruins the movie. at least, with me. still, i'd give it 5 out of 10 stars.

7th Heaven
(1996)

my favorite show?
OMG, there are actually people who like this trash? have those watchers all been brain-washed, or what? i can't see any other reason why anybody would watch this series volunteerily. it sucks. it's so unrealistic it makes me wanna throw up. i mean, take 'roseanne' or 'malcolm in the middle' or even 'the simpsons' - these shows are by far more realistic than this show. this we-are-such-a-religious-and-loving-family makes me really sick. and those topics.. this little girl is painting her room's wall and it's like the end of the world for the mother who seems to be doing nothing but getting children by the way. well, as you already might have guessed - my opinion is AVOID at any cost.

Malcolm in the Middle
(2000)

funny?
i heard a little bit about the series before it started over here so i was looking forward to see it. but i ended up being totally disappointed because - hey, where's the humour? there's nothing really funny about this series. it's just plain boring. i can't imagine anybody laughing about those boring screen-plays.

The X Files
(1998)

what's the point of this movie?
i read to some of the comments for this movie and i can't help feeling surprised how many people consider 'fight the future' a good movie. i like the series, it's good, so i really expected more from the movie. the only reason i sat through it was david duchovny. the story was just so pointless, i don't really know what the whole movie was about. i'm glad i didn't watch it in cinema, cause to me that would have been a waste of money. there are better x-files episodes.

Bless the Child
(2000)

poor
I rated this film 3, but i'm not sure if i is worth this. I was very disappointed after watching it. The story is absolutely unimaginative, the old 'good vs. bad'. Except for Christina Ricci all the actors made a really poor performance. My advice: If you want to see a good religious thriller watch 'Stigmata'.

eXistenZ
(1999)

chaos
Okay, so some may have another opinion but i can't help: this movie is definite one of the worst movies i've ever seen. I watched it in cinema and it was the first time i noticed the audience actually leaving during a movie. The plot is chaotic and not understandable, you never know what's real and what's not. Some scenes are nothing but disgusting. What was it David Cronenberg wanted to say with this movie? The only good thing about it is Jude Law who's acting is brilliant.

Shooting Fish
(1997)

brit comedy
This movie is one of the cutest films i've ever seen. The actors are great and their characters absolutely loveable. Jez (Stuart Townsend - one can only feel sorry for his haircut in the movie) and Dylan (Dan Futterman) are two little crooks who try to make enough money to fulfill their dream and buy themselves a house. While doing one of their swindels they get to know Georgie (played by Kate Beckinsale) and happen to both fall in love with her. From that point on it's getting real chaotic, but you can bet on a happy ending. Maybe it's a little predictable, still absolutely worth watching it.

The Peacemaker
(1997)

i'd give it a minus 10
okay, so the only reason i watched this movie was George Clooney. But after i watched it i was really disappointed. Why do brilliant actors like Clooney and Nicole Kidman take place in a movie like this? It's so cliche, the Russian of course are the bad guys and the Americans are the great heroes. the story is more than poor, at the end you feel real sorry for the dead terrorist. Anyway, Marcel Iures who plays the bad guy is the only good thing about this movie. His acting is amazing, he's the only one who really puts life into his character.

Primal Fear
(1996)

great movie
I watched this movie in the cinema and was amazed after i saw it. It's one of the best courtroom thrillers ever made. The story is great, the ending a surprise that makes you shiver. Edward Norton's acting is so brilliant that you hardly notice Richard Gere. I think he should have earned an academy award with this performance. I would strongly recommend 'Primal Fear'.

From Dusk Till Dawn
(1996)

vampires, no interviews
So okay, i can understand when people do not really like this movie. I have to say i only watched it because of George Clooney for the first time but by now it's one of my favourite movies. The actors are brilliant and so is the screenplay by Quentin Tarantino. Though it's supposed to be a scary movie there are lines in it that really make you laugh. i think it's a movie to enjoy, one you really can't take serious. it's good fun to watch it, if you like a mixture of a road and a vampire movie.

While You Were Sleeping
(1995)

sunshine movie
I love this film. It's the sweetest, cutest, most loveliest romantic movie i've ever seen. I can't imaging anybody not liking it. Sandra Bullock is as sweet as ever making a perfect couple with the cute Bill Pullman. Even if you are not too much into romantic movies you'll love this one!

Clueless
(1995)

as if!
Though i do not really like Alicia Silverstone i have to say that 'Clueless' is one of my favourite movies. Alicia Silverstone plays Cher, the popular girl from high-school that usually knows everything better. She's stylish, pretty and looking for Mr.Right which leads not only her but also her friends in troublesome situations. This movie is fun, easygoing and absolutely worth watching it!

Encino Man
(1992)

stoneage cutie
I really like this movie. Maybe its ending is a little predictable, still it's good fun, easygoing and one of these movies you can watch over and over again. The characters are brilliant, Brendan Fraser's performance as an unfrozen stoneage guy in modern California is simply great. my absolute favourite scene is the one in the bathroom - no matter how often i watch it, it always makes me laugh.
