The Wolf of Wall Street
(2013)

Great
I watched this movie again after many years and I am even more puzzled now than when I first watched it why Leonardo DiCaprio didn't get the Oscar for such an amazing acting performance, I'm not and never have been his biggest fan but even now days after watching I'm simply blown away by his ability, This movie showcased this ability and overall a hugely enjoyable movie with Leonardo's performance the cherry on top. His acting and this movie compelled me to pen this review, wonderful movie with a wonderful cast on top of their game. Perfectly directed and long enough to occupy a full evening of enjoyable watching. Some people are just so good at what they do. Another 1st class movie directed by a top +++ director,

Very Good
I don't care about the technical aspects or if it's historically correct, I just thoroughly enjoyed watching this imo well made Korean movie, It goes straight into the keep folder for me to watch again some time in the future.

Breaking the Waves
(1996)

Amazing
While I admire who won the Oscar for best actress in a leading role in 1996, I just can't understand how Emily Watson didn't win the Oscar in what for me was the best performance of any actress that I've seen in my 60+ years and in her 1st big screen role, I have never been so convinced by any actress in any role. I've admired her acting in many roles over the years but none as much as for this mesmerizing performance. Wonderful directing also made this a never to be forgotten movie.

I love this film, kinda
I found it a bit slow to begin with but I don't think I was in the right frame of mind, I then watched the 2nd half the following evening and I found it much more enjoyable, The actor who played the king deserved an Oscar for such a convincing performance, All the acting was top notch but he was the stand out performer for me. I can't think of anything bad to say about this film or the people responsible for making it, A well deserved 8/10 from me.

Hwanghae
(2010)

Nice 1
I was on the verge of turning this one off but glad I didn't, the 2nd half more than compensated for the slow burn of the 1st, when the action kicked in I found it well worth the wait. I'm a foreign/Korean film fan and more often than not find it quite easy to find good subtitles like the ones for this movie.

Nice 1
One of the better Korean movies I've watched, I usually find Korean movies to be either over acted or downright cheesy but I watched this to the end even though I found the lead character a bit over the top and as I often wonder after/during Korean crime movies ''Are the police really that bad''

Wow
A great film from start to finish, just started watching these Korean, Chinese, Asian Movies again after a break of a couple of years and this one is a big surprise for me, I'm not familiar with any of the cast or crew but they've made a damm good film. I'll keep this one to watch again sometime.

The Tragedy of Macbeth
(2021)

Unwatchable
Hardly got past the opening scene before switching off due to the ridiculous old English language, A pity really as I was quite looking forward to it. Straight in the rubbish bin , I just find this language completely ruins it for me.

The Last Duel
(2021)

Great
My favorite Matt Damon movie, I think his new beefed-up look just makes his role and acting more believable and as for Adam Driver an actor I'm not very familiar with, what a good performance I will be watching out for him in the future, Ben Affleck a true master of his craft his facial expressions had me believing every word he said, I'm a Damon/Affleck fan which made this film a real treat for me. Writing this review 2 days after watching and it's still foremost in my mind.

Beautiful Film
A beautiful film from start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Da 5 Bloods
(2020)

Confusing
Was Spike Lee on crack when he made this one.Was Spike Lee on crack when he made this one

The Last Full Measure
(2019)

Kinda Okay
Not so bad, well acted but a bit cheesy in parts, I was tempted to switch it off but I didn't and by the end of it found it okayish. Pity about the TV movie music which really put me off.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
(2019)

Okay
An okay movie in my opinion, I had never heard of Fred before watching this movie but I may try to locate the documentary mentioned in some other reviews for more info on who was obviously an admired and loved person by a lot of people, Tom Hanks performance was good if a little cheesy but I still favour Anthony Hopkins in the Two Popes for the Oscar. I did find the movie a bit confusing in places and I wouldn't want to watch it again but maybe when/if I see the documentary I will watch it just to see if I feel different about it.

The Irishman
(2019)

Good Film
A well made well acted predictable gangster movie with De Niro giving the best performance in my opinion.

Gisaengchung
(2019)

Okay
I found this film to be an okay film but I don't think it's as good as it's high rating suggests but each to their own and obviously a lot of watchers wouldn't agree with me.

After the Wedding
(2019)

Lovely
Ever since I first saw it the 2006 version of this film has been one of my favourite foreign films but I began watching this version with an open mind and I really enjoyed it from start to finish, yes I thought Julianne Moore's performance was brilliant especially the ''I don't want to die bedroom scene'' but overall I think all the actors did themselves proud and the fact that it is a remake didn't bother me at all, well worth watching a superbly made film.

The Two Popes
(2019)

Very Good Kinda
I liked it and having seen the other contenders for the Oscar for best supporting actor I personally think it should go to Anthony Hopkins, a terrific performance by all but Hopkins was outstandingly convincing in his best performance in years, Overall the film was very good kinda and I enjoyed it but it was Hopkins that made it so in my opinion.

Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
(2019)

Rubbish
Self indulgent drivel, like watching paint dry, This is what happens when somebody i.e the director thinks he's a genius.

Midway
(2019)

Truly Awful
I do love a good war film but the 1st five minutes of this is about all I could take, The CGI was so obvious that it was totally unreal and the over the top acting really killed it, switched it off and immediately deleted it.
