ANA (A Nonsensical Anthology)
(2021)

An Anthology of Nonsense
The frog was cute I guess. It's only 40 minutes so it couldn't hurt to try it out, see what you think. It's not for everybody, but it has some decent stuff in it....

Coming 2 America
(2021)

A fun time, but not much more.
Is it as funny as the first? "Oh hell no your majesty!" Is memorable? No. Will I watch it again? Probably not? Is it forgettable? Yes. But, I did still have fun watching it, so it was a decent member movie. (A member movie is nostalgia fueled sequel to a film that came out decades prior, like MIIIB or Toy Story 3.) The cast was still great, and the sound track was amazing, and as always the Barbers were the best part. Lets just hope we don't get a Norbit 2. Ugh...

Journey to the Center of the Earth
(2008)

PSP Product Placement is the Funniest Part of the Movie
This movie is boring and nonsensical and every CGI character is so unoriginal they look like a rip-off from a videogame. My teacher showed it in science class, and the only thing I learned is that a Paddleball and a PSP are basically the same thing and that Brendan Frasier is about as charming as a mangled course with its eyes plucked out. Sorry that was mean, honestly I don't care about this movie enough to be upset its so flaccid. Nothing stands out, no good acting, no good effects, just a few meme worthy lines and some stupid hokey garbage.

Venom
(2018)

Well this was weird....
The movie isn't awful, but it isn't great. The lead is pretty fun to watch, but there isn't much superhero stuff, and the movie ends as soon as its getting started. Venom just goes: "I'm good now, but this new guy is the bad guy we have to go stop him now". Its pretty jarring. The climax happens so fast your like, oh. Its over? Oh okay. That was uh... something I guess.

Bumblebee
(2018)

This is the best one huh?
Despite a kickass opening, what is supposed to be the best Transformers has cliche and stupid, childish writing, awful characters, pathetic villains, and well, just, just... whatever. Not even my 7 year old self's obsession with this character can save this one for me.

Shazam!
(2019)

Tonally Confused and a bit off...
"This place is pretty nice. Wait no.. its actually a....... ****-hole......" -Evil eye Demon guy.

I'm Thinking of Ending Things
(2020)

Miss-advertised, and a little lame...
The trailer made it look like the next Shining. It wasn't. It really wasn't. They kept establishing things, and I kept waiting for it to come into play, but then they just kept establishing things. I kept waiting for the pay-off and I got bored. Maybe if the movie was 1 hour shorter I would have appreciated it more, but I thought even if you knew what it was going for, the movie was too long, too caught up in itself. Maybe if i re-watched it knowing what it was I would enjoy it more, but the film is so long I just don't feel like it. I'm sure it's a great movie, but there are people over analyzing every aspect of the movie, but I got so bored I started fast forwarding through it to get to 'the good parts' and I still fully understood the plot, and I skipped 1/4 of the movie, so that should tell you a lot about it....

The Grinch
(2018)

It was cute I guess...
While in typical illumination affair, the movie is very stylized and pandering and bland, but it still is mostly cute and inoffensive and the most important parts of the Grinch story, the song, the theft, and the message, are handled well and in some ways handled better than most Grinch incarnations, so I think it perfectly fine to watch with the family. In the very least it was better than the dumpster fire that was Christmas Chronicles 2.

Scrooged
(1988)

Its exactly what you wanted...
This is supposed to be a subversive take on a Christmas classic we all know very well. The best things a movie like that can do is surprise and entertain you, while also standing out on its own, and Scrooged does that very well. Bill is great in this, the ghost are all very entertaining, surprising, memorable, and sometimes, even disturbing to look at. The romance is actually pretty alright, and the score isn't memorable, but it MAKES certain scenes. Both the humor and emotional beats hit, and the ending is bit long I guess, but Bills acting makes it worth it, it all feels real, not like some tacked on message. Aside from the mostly grey color pallet, this movie a fantastic Christmas classic with some pretty great moments.

Key and Peele
(2012)

Not hit and miss, but hit hit HIT miss hit....
I first thought these guys were soo stupid, but when you see a couple of their great skits, it makes you kinda GET their humor, so pretty much all of the skits are funny in their own way. If one skit doesn't hit, 3 others do, and they have plenty of great and/or iconic characters, Obama and Luther, Meegan and Andre, Cedric and Levi, Wendell, and who could forget the Continental breakfast guy? Whether they are tackling race issues, or just being stupid, these guys are great. My favorite skits are: Two old Church ladies vs Satan, the East/West bowl, Stan Lee, Luther and Obama going away, Levi's lightning in a bottle, Wendells superman bed, Andre breakups with Meegan, Teris on a plane, and the parole puppet.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
(2000)

This disgusting and I kinda like that...
This isn't amazing or all that great, but I do like the fact that this is a Christmas movie that is ugly. Usually these films are bright and cheery, but this one is kinda gross, so props to them. I don't know what they were thinking doing THIS to the Grinch, but I don't hate it.

The X Files
(1993)

I mixed bag of dated tv...
My mother showed me this series insisting it was a classic and I should watch it if I like classic movies and shows... My GOD WHERE DO I even BEGIN? The show starts out pretty mediocre but steadily over time gets pretty alright, maybe even good. Sometimes, like once in a blue moon its great, but I think the show is best when its a parody of itself. There are some great episodes though, Bad Blood, Humbug, Driver, to name a few... but other times the show gets really really dumb. REALLY REALLY STUPID AND DUMB AND BAD. The main story line get tiring and predictable after a few episodes, and despite a few good surprises, it is pretty boring after a while. This show is dated to say the least, the acting is mostly bad, though the leads improve over time, the music is too loud, the effects are good, the story has some cool parts, but as mentioned before its mostly trash, the humor is sometimes hilarious, other times I just want Mulder to shut up, this is the biggest mixed bag I have ever seen, its almost fascinating... SPOILER TERRITORY HERE: This show gets really dumb okay? We are talking Gender Swapping Sex Pilgrims for Outer Space dumb. The show claiming the main antagonist killed JFK and MLK JR, then trying to make you feel bad that no one likes the book he wrote dumb. We are talking a flash back were a guy threatens to kill Mulder by going " I'll (pause) GET (wink) YOU (smooch)!" dumb. Also that same guy can live forever and he has a lizard hand and talks like: "Muuuuuuuuuuuuulllll-Duuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrr" Its almost become a joke around the household. I know i'm just a teenager, but this is one of the most baffling shows I have seen. Sooo dumb.... Yet also kinda good? Whatever. Its entertaining and thats all that matters, so if you can find it for free give it a go.

The Shining
(1980)

Possibly the greatest Horror movie ever, and one of the best movies ever...
Maybe I'm just biased since this is my favorite movie ever but I haven't seen any other movie like it, it offers one of the most unique cinematic experiences ever. (I almost always bring a snack with me to the theater but I couldn't eat while watching this it was so tense....)

Better Call Saul
(2015)

Better than Breaking Bad? Maybe?
Is it slower? Yeah. Is it better? In some ways... maybe... The drama, charaters, action, comedy, it has a build-up, but it gets to the point where it out classes Br Ba in several cases... Vince Gilligan and Dave Porter at their absolute best.

Arrested Development
(2003)

One of the best shows... Untill 2018
This show was the best. Memorable characters, great eposides, a unique and fantastic sense of humor, so good, so quotable... Then Netflix rebooted it. Season 4 was alright. Season 5 is the most thoroughly unenjoyable, and unfunny thing I have ever seen. Every element that was great couldn't be replicated, but man. You just can't beat those first few seasons. Watch it before I send the muffin man after you....

Rare Replay
(2015)

This is the only reason I own an Xbox One
If there is one game you won't like, there is 2 you will, the best retro gaming collection I've ever seen.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
(2020)

Best Crash Game? Maybe?
I was so worried this wouldn't work, but they retooled to formula to create a more stream lined, difficult yet user friendly crash experience which may be the best game yet in his series....

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
(2017)

Hard as Hell, Fun as Hell
This game almost turned me into a mini-masochist. 3 classic remade for modern babys like me. Joy.

Singin' in the Rain
(1952)

Movies this old usually don't hold up that well. This one did.
I hate musicals. This is one of my favorite movies ever. That should say it all I think.

Conker's Bad Fur Day
(2001)

Wow. Thats a fun one..
Don't let your kids play it. Actually scratch that. They'll find away. Just take me for example. In some ways clunky and dated, but mostly fun and hysterical.

Banjo-Tooie
(2000)

Bigger, Better, and more Difficult.
Its a bit dragged out for my taste, but this is a banjo romp worth investing in. Its brilliant.

Battletoads
(1994)

Fantastic Arcade Game
It may only have one attack button, but the variety of animations and satisfaction of combat leaves this as a arcade game with variety and just enough skull cracking to leave you feeling like a badass. Play with friends on the Xbox one, thats my recommendation.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
(2008)

Damn Good Game
Shut up. Its cars. Who cares? While clunky in some areas, the game play is utterly fantastic, adding more and more on to keep you playing, and the game gets to a point where you have all this freedom to build whatever in all these great sandbox levels, the game is just a massive playground really, and the best part of the banjo games, the charm, is still there so calm down. Get it on rare replay please.

History of the World: Part I
(1981)

Its Mel brooks at his 'ehst'
Here we have the scale of Mel Brooke movies. On the great side we have Young Frankenstein. On the crappy side we have Space Balls. And right smack in the middle we have this. Its an offensive and comedic take on world history, and it works. Kinda. Mostly clever and really funny (yet really profane and immature) but it is also poorly paced and overly drawn out in some places. The Inquisition number is a jam though...

The Angry Video Game Nerd
(2004)

An inspiration to us all:
James Rolf is my personal hero and this (as well as Cinemassacre 200) is why. A internet classic, but for teenagers like me, "take you back to the past" has an entirely different meaning. Thats one of the reasons the show has held up well. He is taking you back to another time, in both the 80s and to the early internet.
