While watching the opening of Interstellar for the first time in 2021 I noticed something familiar with the farm scenes. At first, I couldn't quite put my finger on it then it hit me. The farm in the beginning part of Interstellar looked like the farm and surrounding area in Ghostbusters Afterlife. Could it possibly be the same set I wondered. So, I looked it up and it's not the same set Interstellar and Ghostbusters Afterlife were filmed on. Interstellar was filmed in Longview Alberta Canada while Ghostbusters Afterlife was filmed in Okotoks Alberta Canada (29 miles apart). Did I call that or what? My powers of observation are uncanny!
A fine TV movie from a bygone era with a big pay-off ending. Starring Lee J. Cobb, Gig Young and Greyson Hall (Dark Shadows) and a who's who cast of legendary character actors. A fun to watch cat and mouse game between a detective and gang of jewel thieves. Break out the pop corn then sit back and enjoy.
The Great Ice Rip Off - 1974 is available on DVD
Hard to watch at times and funny and at times, heartbreaking. I enjoyed it, it showed a very human side of Jim Breuer, an all-round solid guy.
My dad also fought in WW2 so this was relatable (France, Italy and North Africa) but try getting him to talk about it. Yeah but then we never connected (like Jim does with his dad) right up until he died in 2007 at 94 (and cut me out of the will). Not a problem really I saw it coming years before.
Jim I was expecting a stand up comedy show full of laughs and you fooled me with this very personal and emotional journey with your Dad, shame on you for fooling me.
And this show was from 2010(?), I just discovered it tonight.
Good job Jim Breuer.
