Damsel
(2024)

El-o-die
And just like that we have a new mother of dragons! People giving this a low rating need a sense of adventure, or something else. This was a great Friday night movie that required no thought just relaxation. That is one epic dragon I have to admit, I expected it to sound like Smaug but nope! All of it was good, a classic fairytale with a dark twist. The poor but beautiful girl meets and handsome wealthy prince, I'd like to think he thought Elodie was special which she was but he didn't know how much. It was very fairytale like to see the jewelry of precious princess' strewn around where Elodie landed, the healing slugs, names of those who went before her, the map, dad coming to the rescue, kidnapped sister and finally a stepmother worthy of being called mother! Robin Wright was perfect for this role. It's a great movie, just clear your mind and enjoy!!

Wolf Like Me
(2022)

Love It
I'd seen this a few times while scrolling through Prime looking for something to watch. Finally late one night I decided to try it and binge watched it. I love the entire story. I love werewolf movies and couldn't wait to see Mary's wolf. I thought the writers picked the best way for Emma find out, the creepy factor was on full display! The actor that plays Gary is phenomenal for this role and Isla Fisher has always been one of my favorite actresses.

Season 2 was different with Mary's emotions all over the place. I don't understand the point of Anton being there, it was just weird and added nothing to the story. I really love the protective shutters that cover the house!

I will be crushed if there isn't a third season. They can't leave us hanging with a werewolf baby and cops on the doorstep. The story is too fascinating to end. There's been so many werewolf series' that have been cancelled and I hope this isn't one of them.

It's comedy, romance and horror rolled into one and is a genius idea. The creepy parts aren't even that creepy in case anyone is considering not watching it.

Nowhere
(2023)

Not what I expected
I was just looking for something to watch one evening when I was home alone and thought I'd give this a try. I had no idea what to expect but what I gem did I discover! This young actress is quite amazing, I can't imagine what it would have been like shooting the scenes like when Noa was born, water coming at her from all sides. I'm still not sure if the phone calls from Nico were real, she wouldn't have had any signal out there. It's surprising what you can think of when your life depends on it, her fish net was genius, keeping fish alive in the Tupperware containers, even the torch she made. They added the whale at the perfect time and my heart sank when Noa was taken out of the water and Mia was nowhere to be seen. It was a great ending, all of it was fantastic.

American Nightmare
(2024)

"To Serve and Protect"
This documentary infuriates me to no end. How could they think a story could be made up, so specifically detailed including taped swim googles, sedatives, a mustang, etc. I knew as soon as they had Aaron in a prison outfit things were not going to go well for him. We've learned so many things about the police, including it to be within their right to lie to the person or persons being interrogated and polygraph's aren't even admissible in court. It's too bad Aaron didn't ask if he was under arrest and left but he did the next best thing, actually the wisest thing and asked for a lawyer. Treating Denise like they did is absolutely mind blowing and that cop got an award that year? How are none of them responsible for screwing this investigation up? How are they not fired but rewarded instead? I really hope this documentary, which clearly shows their faces, names as well as their disgusting conduct and now available for the world to see, brings some sort of disparagement to them. It was amazing Denise and Aaron went on to get married and have a beautiful family, I wish them all the best. Too bad I watched this before bed because I won't be able to calm down for awhile.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
(2016)

Love it!
I've seen this movie several times and love it more each time. I love the combination of Pride and Prejudice with some blood and brains. The cast is perfect, the acting is great, it's just a good movie!

Keep Breathing
(2022)

Loved it!
This was such an interesting story of Liv's life and struggles that led her to be on that plane. The flashbacks sometimes came too often and I was more interested in her survival. The people in her life, past and present, kept her going and some of those conversations and flashbacks were actually quite emotional. The young lady that played Liv is an amazing actress, it must have been grueling filming certain parts of it. The one part that was over the top unrealistic was the incident with the bear. The bear would have have eaten Sam and stalked her on her entire journey (shut out to the movie The Edge filmed in my backyard) plus there would have been other predators once she was injured and bleeding. I live in the neighboring province to BC where the movie was filmed and have been to some of those very remote places. I loved seeing it's breathtaking beauty of that area but also knowing the harshness and unforgiving landscape that is in many areas of the two western Canadian provinces It also begs the question of how many people have been lost and didn't make it out. I really enjoyed this!

The Gray Man
(2022)

I enjoyed it
The amount of choreography and stunts was insane, I can't imagine how much training the actors did. It was a solid movie, good for Ryan Gosling and Lloyd couldn't have been played by anyone else!

The Terminal List
(2022)

Eat your heart out Owen Grady!!
There's a new man in town! Chris Pratt is proving he's way more than just galaxies and dinosaurs. He's a fantastic actor, we loved the series. Also awesome to see a fellow Canuck Taylor Kitsch and Constance Wu absolutely nailed her role. All the actors we fantastic in their roles.

Snowflake Mountain
(2022)

Who wouldn't love this?
I really didn't know what to expect so took a chance and binged watched it. Having grown up on a farm and now have my own farm raising horses it was unbelievable to me that the snowflakes didn't know how to do basically anything. I laughed out loud so many times and even shed a tear. I don't think this was fake, there was a lot we didn't see but we got the good parts. Another reviewer commented on veterans considering themselves superior and I didn't see that at all. They taught them skills and discipline they'd never learn anywhere or from anyone else. I thought veterans and Cat were the perfect combination. I hope there'll be another season. It's possible some of them went back to their former life, Solomon and the girl that wouldn't even try and left right away m, didn't have what it took. I felt there was something else going on within Solomon, some kind of inner struggle that we didn't know about. Anyway, I loved this series and hope there's more coming!!

Our Father
(2022)

Heartbreaking
This is almost unimaginable, that man should have been sentenced to prison and rotted there. I can't begin to imagine what Jacoba and her siblings have gone through psychologically, their mothers and the anguish, pain and anger they had to deal with. The men they called their fathers are their father's, period and they represent the male species far more than that disgrace and excuse of a human being. That spineless, little fraction of a man deserved for his disgusting, perverted deeds to be revealed to the world. He actually thought they'd care if his marriage would be over. Sadly. I'm sure this isn't the only time this has happened. This is an excellent documentary.

Jurassic World Dominion
(2022)

Hmm
It's not as bad as some reviews but not as good as others. When the movie was over a kid behind us said "it's finally over, that took forever." Watching Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard kissing was awkward and painful like watching siblings kiss but they were still great, both fantastic actors in their own right. What did the wardrobe people think when they were dressing Laura Dern? Someone was clearly in a hurry and is was painfully distracting. Her acting was by far the worst but Jeff Goldblum, DeWanda Wise (who was phenomenal in her role) along with Isabella Sermon saved the movie. The dinosaurs were amazing, if you're interested in them it's worth it to see the movie. I'm definitely not sorry we spent the money to watch it in 3D and renting it in the future just to see the dinosaurs again is possible. The last scene was kinda awesome, wild horses running in herds with dinosaurs.

Top Gun: Maverick
(2022)

Fantastic!
Top Gun didn't need a sequel and I honestly thought after 36 years it would be totally lame. I started hearing some of the reviews and really wanted to see it. It was amazing that there wasn't any CGI, everything was real. It was also so refreshing to see the mature adults with fine lines and natural faces, not all botoxed with obvious plastic surgery. I've always liked Jennifer Connelly and she made Penny fit seemlessly. They really honored Val Kilmer, I wasn't sure how they'd fit him in. We want to see it again, all the theaters with fancy screens were sold out and this was a Friday at 4:15. I can now understand why Tom Cruise is so proud.

Taboo: Episode #1.8
(2017)
Episode 8, Season 1

Excellent
This is a true masterpiece. There is so much to the characters, the story, back story which I hope we'll learn more about. I know there's a second season and I very much look forward to it!

Spencer
(2021)

Nope
I know Diana was going through unimaginable loneliness and a host of other problems but this movie was dreadful. I can't understand how Kristen Stewart would have even been considered to play this role, it's all wrong. I also can't believe she was nominated for an Oscar. It's wrong on so many levels. I would have been disappointed if I'd spent money seeing it in a theater. All around very depressing.

Clickbait
(2021)

Excellent!
I have no idea what the bad reviews are about. I think people have way too many expectations going into a show. This has so many twists and turns every episode. I definitely recommend this mini series.

Snowpiercer: A Beacon for Us All
(2022)
Episode 9, Season 3

Disappointing
I've been waiting all season for Melanie to come back. I don't understand why she had to throw Layton under the bus and announce her findings to the entire train turning on her daughter, Ben, everyone. Every season is deteriorating, at this rate I can't see this show having longevity.

The Last Kingdom: Episode #5.10
(2022)
Episode 10, Season 5

Fantastic
I remember finding and watching the first season, fingers crossed there'd be a second season, each year that would happen. I'm heartbroken it's over but what a ride! This really was the perfect ending, the ultimate battle, the fire at Bebbanburg, the memories of all the characters it took to get here. Bravo to all the actors and the amazing crew, I can't imagine the work they put into this, I'm sure it was literal blood, sweat and tears. I'm excited for the movie, I hope it gives the entire series a beautiful polish. Utred son of Utred finally takes Bebbanburg.

Snowpiercer: Ouroboros
(2022)
Episode 7, Season 3

Eh?
What kind of nonsense are the writers up to? It's episode 7 and they do a dream/fantasy episode, not cool. Can we just bring Melanie back and get on with things?

Snowpiercer: Born to Bleed
(2022)
Episode 6, Season 3

Meh
This season is kinda off for me, I'm not enjoying it as much as the others. This is probably the most disappointing episode thus far. It seemed super busy, I like they was tail tradition but the rest of it was lame.

The Stolen
(2017)

Not Bad
This is a decent movie, I love Alice Eve but wasn't impressed one of my other favorite actors lasted 38 minutes. There must be so many true stories like this and worse. Coming from another continent, thinking the land would look the same, people would be the same just to find out yourself betrayed by your fellow countrymen. I really loved the ending, she had become a different woman than the one that could hardly lift a gun.

The Great
(2020)

Huzzah?
Not a bad series, not historically correct but overall ok. I don't understand the point of the constant profanity, it's maybe funny for some viewers the first couple of times but after that it gets annoying. All talented actors and I would have rated it much higher but for the constant, constant profanity laced sentences, it's not artistic and adds absolutely nothing to the series.

The Tender Bar
(2021)

Not what I expected
When I found out this movie was already up for some awards I was really looking forward to seeing it. It wasn't what I expected at all. It's an average movie at best however Ben Affleck pulls off a fantastic performance, he carries the film. I didn't really want to watch the rest of the movie at one point however it's not fair to rate something without watching it entirely.

The Way Back
(2020)

Good Movie
This was a decent comeback movie. It took awhile to find out what lead to his alcoholism and the way his family stood around him was heartwarming. It must have been weird for Ben to play an alcoholic as he's struggled with addiction in real life, an odd choice for a role for him to play. He's a good actor.and played the role perfectly.

Till Death
(2021)

Excellent suspense!!
I'm pretty picky about movies, especially suspense so I didn't expect much from this movie. I was pleasantly surprised. The writer that came up with the plot missed no details, the twists and turns were carefully thought out. I really liked Megan Fox in this, the only annoying part was her makeup was on point the entire movie.

La Venganza de las Juanas
(2021)

Very good
This show has it all: romance, murder, mystery, mayhem, etc. The voice over is decent as well. I do agree with other reviews, the incest thing was gross, unsettling and once they were caught on camera they acted like a normal couple and everyone seemed ok with it. I knew they'd end up not being brother and sister but they're still related. It was a sketchy subject to include. Other than that it was good, I would have rated it higher if they didn't include that story line. I hope they do a second season, it definitely left off with enough mystery for that.
