While it subverts your expectations and doesn't have the normal revenge plotline that people expect if not demand, it sells the alternative path it presents in such a way that you get it and buy into the premise. The execution -- acting, sound, cinematography, pacing -- is absolutely excellent throughout, both technically and artistically. Cage brings his best, and this might be the pinnacle of his career.

Some parts of the movie are a bit....ridiculous, notably the "Fight Club" situation that almost seems like visions in a fevered dream. The rest of the movie papers over it but I really wish that wasn't included.

Very enjoyable, reasonably clever action comedy. The characters are interesting, as is the plot, and you actually become emotionally invested in outcomes keeping your attention and motivation. Fantastic, well-paced and well executed action scenes permeate, which is a given for a stunt movie.

Gosling and Blunt bring stellar performances.

The only complaint is that it's a bit lengthy for this style of movie, and there is a bit of "action fatigue" that kicks in during a viewing, where action starts to lose its novelty. It probably could have been pruned down a bit in ways that would have improved the end result.

Truly a horrendous movie that the entire group demanded be turned off an hour in.

To be clear, we love brainless action movies. This one is not only brainless, it's insulting. Nothing about it is redeeming.

The acting is horrendous. The action is laughable. The storyline is beyond absurd. You don't care about anyone. There is zero logic or sense in any of the characters.

It's a sad rip off of John Wick, minus any talent in anyone involved. Everyone involved with this outing should be embarrassed and should retire from the industry. Take up basket weaving or something more productive. Cinema isn't for any of you.
