Its like Germany has no acting or film schools or mediocre instructors lead to mediocre actors. This cast simply cant act well. Every theatre major at an american high school has more talent.

Very wooden acting, weird pauses in dialogues, felt like a script reading, facial expressions do not match the actual tension or emtions...

The camera work and momentum reminds me of some South American soap operas... some scenes have minimalistic dialogues like its some ancient japanese theatre but take up so much time for nothing. It sometimes feel like sample reel recordings for the real shot that never happened. Some close up shots are very odd and there is no post editing. Story telling has no real transitions for example: You dont feel the tension of a besieged royal capitol town they just talk about the invaders and then they already stormed to the palace... some shots of fearful villagers before the attack etc. would have done it. Some more small details everything is upfront.

The producer wanted to develop everything through dialogues and symbolic room shots but failed hard.

It seems to be made for people who cant differ good acting from bad acting.

The camera work and angles alienated me, the lightning and post editing is just bad. The editors used C-Movie sound effects for everything. There is absolutely no atmosphere because of the strange and pretentious editing style - its just annoying.

Dialogues are flat and sometimes mixed up with random English sentences which make zero sense. There is a scene about a hipster bar in Berlin they constantly switch languages when the barkeeper speaks English they switch to German and vice versa.

Germans still have a fetish for shaky / restless camera shots it ruines the atmosphere in close up dialogues I wonder if all film schools teach the same way in germany...
