School of Rock
(2003)

Worthless
This film made me very dissapointed. When it began I thought it would be a pretty funny film but it wasen't. It's about a guy working in a school and is obsessed to teach the kids rock music. The story is bad, the film is far to nice and you can impossible get intrested in this crap. I felt that it had some funny lines but otherwise it is a film that you really should not be fooled and go and watch. Jack Black is a good musician and also a good comedian but I did not laugh at him in this at all.

Also one thing I noticed was that it feelt like a comedy show on television not a movie, anyone agree?

Very weak 2/10

Ali
(2001)

Failed in many ways...
It is hard to make a film like this good. I have really looking forward to watching this film since I have been very interesting in boxing history and I am also finding Muhammad Ali as a great person. He truly changed the world. This film is not bad but not good either. First when I heard that Will Smith should be in it I was a bit suprised, a comedian that stars in films like Bad Boys and Men in Black. Actually he was the main problem with this film. He was not powerful at all. I did not get touched of his acting and he made the film lost the feeling to watch it.

It is very hard to make films like this and I think that if you don't know anything about this story you would like it. Ali's story is fashinating and I recommend you to watch "When We were kings" a documentary about the match against George Foreman in Zaire. 5/10

Finding Nemo
(2003)

A really nice movie...
This film I think is alongside "Shrek" the best film in this genre. It includes everything a film like this should include plus a bit more. It is a film that includes stuff for the whole family. The only big problem with this film is one of the main characters Dory, she is not funny! Otherwise I strongly recommend it! 8/10

8 Mile
(2002)

A very appreciated movie!
Hip-hop as been my music for a long time. Even if Eminem is not one of those artists I listen too very much this film describes a culture. The film is really worth watching for all ages it is a film that also includes a nice soundtrack. The best part is of course the freestyle. I also did like Eminems acting which I was a bit worried about before I saw it. I strongly recommend it. 8/10

The Silence of the Lambs
(1991)

Great entertainment, Great acting and very scary but not perfect!
This is a classic horror movie of the 90's. The acting by Anthony Hopkins and a young Jodie Foster is great. The story has become a story that almost every new scary movie steals. If you see it today it might not be the same as when I saw it for over ten years ago. It is a really good scary film that includes much of everything. I still think the same has I have always thought about this film. It is not perfect, I don't think that it is a film that really touched me and I did not found it as a masterpiece.

Maybe the main problem is that you don't get to study the victims enough. I had also heard so much good films about it that I had too high thoughts about it. It is really worth watching but not one of the best scary movies ever. If you ask me I like the classic films that Hitchcock made better. It has been done many "silence of the lambs"-look alike and also two sequels which is worth watching too. 8/10

25th Hour
(2002)

Very Powerful and very typical Spike Lee!
Spike Lee is a very good director. Of course he has done many movies that not even is worth watching. But he has also done some really fantastic films( For example "Clockers" and my favorite "Do the right thing").

When I saw this film I that that the film had a very simple yet very smart story. It's about a guy's last hours before he will serve seven years in prison. I thought that the way they show the story is masterful. You get a picture of how the persons in the film are when they talk about things but still you have to think about it in your own mind.

The acting by one of my favorite actors Edward Norton is perfect. He looks both like a nice man in his early 30's and also as he has another very frightening side.

The film has many typical Spike Lee moments(for example when he talks to himself in the mirror, one of the best scenes in the movie) and I highly recommend this film. It says a lots of things that makes you think and it is a film that is also very nice acted.

Even if the last 15 minutes gets far too much and you get a bit tired this is a very strong and well made movie about a(as in many of Lee's films)important subject. 9/10

The Hunted
(2003)

So unrealistic
When I saw it I could not decide if it were good or bad. Actually I found it very weird. When I was in the video store and wondering which film I should rent to me and my friends. This was the movie which catched my attention. The story looked interesting and it seemed lika a very exiting film.

It begins awful and many parts in the film makes you just wanna turn off the television. But the film has very exciting scenes and is well done. I think that this is the kind of action movie you watch and two hours later you forget almost everything. There were two things that really make me feel that it was not a good film.

First of all I felt that the characters had no depth at all. One old trained man that could everything and one sick soldier that had gone mad. It did not explain much more than that. The other thing was that it was not realistic at all. If it would be realistic I think that they could not have done this film.

What has happened to the action genre? The last two new action films I saw was this and "basic"(which also was a pretty bad film). For a couple of years ago I saw a loots of good action like "Face off" or "the rock". I hope that some great director soon will do a stunning masterpiece with both a great story and great action. Personal I think that this was a pretty silly film and I only rank it a:4/10

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
(1990)

A classic show from the 90's
Will Smith is really funny in these classic comedy show. Even though it has been on television for years and you watch the same episodes over and over again it still is funny. I like all of the characters and I am a bit tired of it but when I have time I sometimes watch it. It is a classic show from the 90's and it also is a must see!

Stuck on You
(2003)

A nice and funny comedy...
When I saw this film I was a bit chocked. For being a Farelly brothers film this was very nice. That's why I personal like "dumb and dumber", "me myself and Irene" or "kingpin" better. This is a film that you like but don't stay in your memory.

I was a bit worried before I saw it. I wondered why Jim Carrey wasn't in it instead of not the usual comedian Matt Damon. I was wrong because the acting was actually very funny. It's a film worth watching but it's nothing really special. 6/10

Eight Crazy Nights
(2002)

A mix of everything...
If you watch some episodes of Simpsons then watch southpark and all of these cartoons and then watch this film you will see that it is a mix of all of the classic series/films. I think that Adam Sandler is a funny comedian and he has done a lots of funny films. This one is also very funny.

Some parts were a bit weird but all in all this is a very funny film. Specially the ending. I won't say more so go see it for yourself, 7/10

Stealing Harvard
(2002)

Has funny jokes but a very thin story and some parts are not funny at all!
First off all I must say that Tom Green was not funny at all. He tried to do his sick jokes but I did not laugh at it. The story is very simple, it's about a guy who must get 30,000 dollars to save his relationship. Of course it includes funny things but it's not worth watching. 4/10

Once Upon a Time in America
(1984)

In my view of the film it's underrated!
I am a big fan of Sergio Leone. He was truly one of the big masters of cinema. His way to mix sound and pictures is masterful. I have seen the godfather trilogy many times and have always heard very much about it. "Once upon a time in America" is no film that anybody has talked so much about. I love the music, I love the way the film is done and I love the acting. This big epic is one of the best gangster films ever.

If you must compare it to the godfather trilogy maybe I choose godfather because it lies a bit closer to my heart(I have seen the film all since I was a kid). I think that this film could be too long and to boring for some people but for me it's a study of one mans regret. I really like the mysterious mood in the film. For any fan of film this is a must. 10/10

Léon
(1994)

Watch it!
When I saw this film last week I was a bit worried. I thought it would be a very nice technical film but the story would be(as in many other films)thin. It's about a hitman which worlds gets upside down when a little girl called Mathilda comes into his life.

Some scenes are so perfect that no one can complain. I didn't like "the fifth element" or "nikita" but this film include so much powerful stuffs that it is a must. 8/10

The Wild Bunch
(1969)

A very important film
This brutal western is a classic. Personal it was not the best I have ever seen but I felt it was very important for modern film. It's action scenes are magnificent and the acting is also fantastic. It was made when western films was not often done anymore. They really made this one great. The story is about a group of outlaws that are planing to do one last job before they end. This film is a must see for everyone. It is very brutal but then again it has inspired many new films. 10/10

Eddie Murphy: Delirious
(1983)

So damn funny...
... It even beats the nasty "raw". Almost twenty years old is this show and still I laughed VERY MUCH when I was watching it last night. It shows Eddie Murphy dressed in tight red clothes(Old School)and he jokes with everything from celebertis to his family. He was only 22-years old then and this is a must-see!

8/10

Austin Powers in Goldmember
(2002)

Could be the funniest in the trilogy !
Part one I didn't thought was very funny, but then part two was much better. And this one is might the funniest. It has a lot of funny jokes still some of the jokes are not a bit funny(but in these kinds of films, there are always like that). The beginning is hilarious and also the "hard knock life" song is very funny. Mike Myers is a talented comedian and oh of course you should watch it because of Beyoncé also! 7/10

Duck Soup
(1933)

One of the classic comedies!
I had heard a lot about this classic Marx Brother film. That it should be their best and I think I have seen almost every Marx film now. It's true what I've heard. it is really one of the funniest! The story about the country freedonia is made for showing a lot of funny scenes with the four brothers(Harpo,Chico,Groucho and Zeppo). Groucho says a lot of hilarous one-liners like: "We're fighting for this woman's honor, which is more than she ever did". This film is a must-see for all fans of classic comedy. 10/10

Brother
(2000)

Takeshi Kitano is a big film maker!
It's no happy film when Kitano arrives to America because of that the "yakuza" was planned to kill him. He meets his little brother and gets a friend, Denny. It's ultraviolent of course but it's also very smart. Every Kitano film is worth watching. Good acting too.

It is a serious film but it has a bit humorous feeling and the dramatic ending..... WOW! I can't say so much more, you have to see it for yourself! 8/10

Training Day
(2001)

Pretty good! Worth watching because of Denzel Washington's performance.
I like that it not(as in almost every other Hollywood film)shows the cop as the hero. It's about a cop(Hawke)that on his first day he works with a REAL rough detective(Washington). The film is entertaining and funny too watch with a good sound track but the end was really bad! The fight is so unrealistic it looks like a parody. Otherwise it is worth checking out but nothing special. 6/10

Bob le flambeur
(1956)

entertaining and very cool with great music!
A old gambler named Bob that comes into problems and help people with their problems is almost broke. So he decides to rob a big casino. The whole film is very smart and "Oceans eleven" must have taken a lot of things from this.

It focuses on the main character Bob which is very good and it is a very cool film. Another great thing with it is the music: Almost all the time it is music in the background, mostly jazz music. In the end it is exciting and that is very much because of the music. Before you see Jean Pierre Mellvile's "bob the gambler" you might not expect so much but it is really great. Also good photography. The best part is the end

9/10

L.A. Confidential
(1997)

The best of American film!
I had actually read the book before I saw it but still I was very excited when I watched it. It is a very good story, not so hard to follow. It creates the perfect mood, it feels very much like in the 1950's.

The acting is might the strongest in the film. Kim Basinger won a Academy Award but I thought that MANY other stars(Russel Crowe, Kevin Spacey...) deserved to get one too. I could only find one weakness: There is might a little to much action, which is not bad(very well-done action scenes) but it overshadow the drama in the film a bit. 8/10

Signs
(2002)

Not a good film!
First off all I have never liked Mel Gibson so I was not so happy to see him in M. Night Shyamalan's new film(I guess all of you know that he has done "the sixth sense" and "unbreakable"). And I did not like Mel Gibson or any of the other actors in this film, I did not thought that they were real bad but the film is very silly and also very slow. And in "the sixth sense" I was really shocked at the end but in this the end was might not very expectable but I did not care about it.

Signs starts very slow and actually kind of boring and then goes on and I thought it included many VERY unrealistic and stupid things. But I must say that the cinematography is excellent and it includes some good moments but overall this is nothing to see. 4/10

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai
(1999)

A very special movie!
I am sure that Jim Jarmush watched Seijun Suzuki's branded to kill from 1967 before he saw this. This is a good film because of it's both touching and funny sometimes. It has a great mix between it. There are three main characters( all of them perfectly acted), Ghost Dog, his best friend: a French-speaking who sells ice cream in the park and a child that he discusses books with.

Those three characters are what I think the best of this film. And I also likes the unexpected humour very much. But the film has a problem: It's not exciting at all. And that is a problem that does that this film is not great, still really worth watching. The sound track is very good.

7/10

Lone Star
(1996)

10/10, one of the best of the 90's
A superb script, very well done, much details, Fantastic acting and "Lone star" is both very exciting and funny too. There are VERY much characters in this film and still you get very close to every one of them. I have not seen any other John Sayle film. Kris Kristofferson is really magnificent as sheriff Charlie Wade.

This film includes everything, the plot is just the beginning. The direction is perfect and also the acting(Joe Morton, Elizabeth Pena, Chris Cooper...). In the final scene everything comes right and it has a big complex.

It's a modern masterpiece, it is very touching, funny and exciting. I would count it as one of the best films of the whole 90's. A film that simply includes a bit of everything. I will remember all the characters.10/10

Rebecca
(1940)

Hitchcock's romantic ghost-story is still today very good!
Alfred Hitchcock and the producer David O. Selznick argued very muched. Selznick himself wanted to rule over his films and he did not want the directors to be the stars, but Hitchcock became the most famous director. It is a romantic ghost story about a shy lady who meets a rich man named Maxim De Winters. They get married but Max still worries over his wife-Rebecca-death(A boath accident)the year before....

Here you see that Hitchcock has very much skill. The film includes much suspense and is funny on the same time. The acting is good and the cinematography is perfect. I had some trouble with the romance in the film, sometimes I thought it became silly. Still it is over 60 years old and is very good. "Rebecca" ends very powerful(Selznick wanted to end it another way) and is a very good film. 8/10
